My M3P is lacking paint coverage in the same spots, but not as egregious as yours. Let me know what they say. I've had mine 5 months and didn't say anything.
On closing inspection on mine, the sidewall is starting to bulge / rip in the same spot. So yes, replacement tire it is. These 235's are just too narrow / stretched on the rims to offer any kind of protection from this happening.
I think we may be out of luck on the Pirelli warranty though. It looks like they changed it, and I don't think these are considered Run Flats or sensorized. They took out the verbiage that used to be in the road hazard warranty for PNCS...
You can see in the picture at the bottom spoke on the left side there's a tear in the sidewall from a pinch surely from hitting a pothole. 5,000 miles. Think it's still okay or am I ripe for a blowout?
Picked mine up last week but didn't. I had it all of 30 minutes which was enough to drop it off to get PPF, ceramic, and ceramic tint, and tinted taillights. One week later it's finally in my driveway. Working on the blackout badges next.
Nothing. My current Mazda 6 Signature will become my son's first car next year. The Mazda replaced my Chevy SS, knowing I'd give it to him eventually. Sold the SS on Cars and Bids two years ago.
You'll have to arrange insurance once you get the VIN. You'll have a few days between getting the VIN and delivery. So you end up paying for a few days where you don't have the car.
Delivery day in NJ. Of course it started raining the second I got out to the car. But very solid build. A little dirty in spots inside, but that was it. The one next to me did have condensation in the taillight. I enjoyed it for the 30 minute ride to drop it off for tint/ceramic/PPF. So...
M3P Blue/Black
NJ
Ordered 1/20
1st EDD: Feb 16-Mar 16
2nd EDD: Feb 20 - Mar 6 (updated 2/14)
Vin received 2/14
Scheduled delivery: 2/22 (and then straight to the tint shop for PPF, Ceramic Coating, and Tint)
Dynamic Tint here in NJ will be doing my PPF. Check if you are getting 8 mil or 10 mil, as some places go with the thinner film. To give you an idea of different patterns, they have a good overview of their different offerings on their website. I'm going with the Track which is $2,500...
Still 2/16-3/16 for mine coming to NJ (blue/black 1/20 order date). I'm planning on PPF and ceramic (Track package), but also thinking about having them do the b-pillar if they can cut out a hole for the camera. Just not sure if that would peal. Not that I'd have much occasion to use the key...
Roads in NJ are pretty brutal, let alone on low profile tires. Discount Tire used to be much cheaper ($25/tire), but then again a lot of things in life used to be much cheaper. Moot point if Discount Tire won't offer it anymore outside of new tires bought from them. May try calling them to...
Speaking of tires, has anyone gotten an additional road hazard warranty on their tires when taking delivery of the M3P? I'm used to getting the warranty from Discount Tire when I buy tires from them, but they no longer allow you to also buy the warranty for tires on a new vehicle. They were...
I've been on the sidelines for a fun car since I sold my '15 Chevy SS 6MT 2 years ago. Best car I ever owned. Sold it on Cars & Bids with 83K miles for $6K less than I paid for it 6 years earlier.
Speculating here, but does the VIN truly tell the IRS whether it's a 3 RWD, M3LR, or M3P? Or does it just tell the IRS it's a 3, and as long as your order shows under $55K they won't care?
I just think the IRS fat fingered it. They list the Tesla Model Y Performance - 5 seat variant (2-rows) but there is no build from Tesla available for under $55K. I would think as long as you have a M3P order agreement that shows sub-$55K, you are fine. Still bummed Black took it over $55K...
Ordered Blue/Black on Friday. Had some online chats with Tesla during the week to address some questions. They called me on Thursday to let me know they are seeing regions of the country that are now seeing the Jan-Feb dates start to push to Mar-Apr, so I may want to get in the queue soon (I'm...
Just pulled the trigger on a M3P last week, now the waiting begins. But otherwise I was (well still am) in line for a Cadillac Lyriq AWD since last summer. Caddy got screwed with it being classified as a car, not a SUV and thus subject to the $55K cap. They are going to release pricing this...
