Both Cadillac blackwing sedans, the CT4 and CT5 both have 4 piston monoblock calipers on the rear. The Camaro SS and higher trims have fixed calipers. Corvettes. Nissan Z performance and Infiniti Q50 Redsport. Lexus LC, even the GR corolla gets fixed rear calipers.

Well I stand corrected. I guess the 4d1 motors are showing up on the LRs again.

I think the recent LRs have mostly had 990 3D5s motors or 3D7s. I think in Dec Tesla was already planning on the price cuts and they knew that the LR would qualify for the tax rebate and the MYP would not. They anticipated a huge preference towards the LR and most likely heavily shifted...

How do you know he is getting the 4D1 motor? I don't think any of the MYLRs out of Fremont so far have had the 4D1, only the MYPs.

They've probably been out there for 1 to 2 months now. Mine was a Dec Austin LR build and has the EF in the VIN and the 4D1.

Okay based on this very small sampling so far it seems like the MYPs are now coming with the new 4D1s which probably explains why the MYLRs from Fremonts are coming with the 980/3D1s that used to go into the MYPs. They probably had left overs. The Austin EF vins have the 4D1, the only question...

Pretty sure you can't have the 3D5 on the front. The front motor is induction while the rear is permanent magnet. 3D3 is a front motor while the 3D1 3D5 are rear motors.

I think if it's a MYP they all have F in the 8th position as they all have the performance motor, but the question is which performance motor they have now, 980 or 4D1?

Can you check what rear motor you have? Is it the new 4D1 motor or the old 980 motor?

We should make a poll and track how many of these LRs have the 4D1 motor and the F in the 8th position. Seems to be just us 3 so far but there must have been a decently large batch. I'm curious if it was sporadic or if all the LRs from a certain date range had the 4D1 motor. I also wonder...
