Do your front windows hit the chrome trim when opening?

I have a similar noise with the front passenger door but it can be reproduced by applying/releasing outward pressure to the window with the door open. I will ask the SC to check it out when the car is in for its annual next week.

Improved Trunk lighting - Is there demand?

I ordered two sets of 4 and they arrived faster than I expected. I just got them installed and I am very happy with the results! I don't have the premium lighting package but I was able to use 7 and will keep the last as a spare. I replaced the hatch, the frunk, the two front foot wells and the...

Southeast US road trip, minor anxiety

Hi Jeff - I made a trip from Tampa to Buffalo NY and back this summer. You're mostly overthinking it. The only congestion I hit with superchargers was at Montgomery Mall by DC. That added a couple of hours on the leg back but wasn't a major issue. I would have a backup plan for Savannah - I saw...

$961 bucks to replace bushings on rear suspension upper control links?

Yobigd20... That sounds like a wheel bearing.

P85+ Owners...any comments with regard to ride quality, tires, etc?

Welcome cab! romp nailed the description on handling and I'd agree completely. As far as wear, I've disabled the auto lowering and just keep the car at the normal setting. I had my car in for service and they seemed almost surprised on how even the wear was, particularly on the back. I only...

Warning: Large pothole near Tampa Superchargers

There is a huge pothole at the East entrance to the supercharger. I was turning behind a line of cars and didn't see it. It's huge so otherwise it's hard to miss, but be careful! It chewed through my tire and took a small piece out of the wheel. :scared:

Lights flicker when I finish charging off HPWC@80a

What kind of lights do you have? CFLs and LEDs are sensitive to small voltage fluctuations, particularly when combined with a dimmer circuit. I have an electric on demand hot water heater and the dimmable LEDs in our kitchen regularly flicker when we open the faucet. If your incandescents...

After being away from my MS for a week, strange residue on interior hard plastics.

This is most likely condensation, and, in the OPs case, a surface that was not perfectly clean. Those surfaces just happen to be the most hydrophilic and the spotty appearance is from an impurity "seeding" the surface similar to how a raindrop begins its life. If it feels oily, but later dries...

    Thermal photos of heated seats

Cool pic! My new seek camera has the same cool spot. I contacted them and they expect to correct it with a firmware update.

    Anyone up for Quaker Steak?

Ale and I will be there, probably closer to 6PM depending on traffic.

Anyone Still Experiencing Charge Current Limiting (40A->30A)?

If you are near the Tampa Bay region, I'd be more than happy to swap UMCs with you for a week to see if that helps your situation.

    P85D vs. P85 Efficiency Testing

To largely eliminate rolling resistance as a variable you might consider swapping the front wheels for tomorrow's test.. Although I also recall reading that the TPMS has been updated so maybe the better idea is just to try and find the RR specs. (I looked but only found a tirerack write up based...

How to get the trip display on the dashboard?

Press and hold the right scroll wheel for a moment and it will bring up a few options for what to show.

    Excessive wear on leather

Zoom in on the photo... That's definitely damage from a sharp object, you can see some areas where it penetrated and then cut the leather. Since it is directly below the buckle, take a close look at the bottom of buckle on the seatbelt and feel for a burr.

    Carbon Fiber Skinning Project

Nice job Darren! Hope to see it in Sarasota on Friday :)

P85D Interior only available in black? Tan option no longer available :(

Lars, i also have have a silver and tan and took a couple of photos.. But then found a link with more photos while getting back to this thread: Silver exterior / tan interior the tan tends to look a little more yellow in photos than in real life. I was going with silver/gray 100% until I went...

P85D Power draw numbers do not add up...

Kennybobby is right, and hats off to you sir on reading that curve. Personally I find the data sheet much less cryptic :) this lists the I2t as 52k which means the fuse will begin to arc when current x time go above the number 52,000. So 1900a x 30s =57,000=fuse blown. But 1900a for 10-20s and...

    Supercharger - Brandon, FL

Thanks :) I took that just before some heavy rain started... Fortunately it didn't last long and I drove around a bit longer... I had fun testing out the four wheel steering :D

    Supercharger - Brandon, FL

After just taking delivery of my car a couple of weeks ago I was particularly excited to stop by yesterday to try it out. I can't think of a way to overstate it... The car and the company are creating a new paradigm. I hope to see some of you on future stops! Here's a pic from my first...

Who has gone into production since the line resumed?

Does hearsay count? Yesterday my DS said that they had another customer's car go into production this week. My delivery is scheduled for Aug 30th so I'm hoping to report back very soon! :)

    Supercharger - Brandon, FL

Great pics and nice update! That's a very convenient location for me but definitely super busy with a lot of traffic. Looking forward to charging up while catching a flick after I (fingers crossed) take delivery later this month.

Latest Tesla Motors-Related News (Feel Free To Post Here)

I think that was a typo.. The prior slide was showing the roadster stats, with a 3.7s time and I'm guessing it was a copy/paste issue. That said, several people have posted times better than 4.2 and weight savings would certainly support the improvement!
