Steering wheel not able to drive straight

You can check in the parts catalog where this nut and washer go. epc.tesla.com

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Tesla recently tampered with the API/vehicle option codes visibility. Most of them are hidden. I wonder if it is a consequence of this thread coming to their attention.

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Tesla might have caught up with this thread and started hiding the option codes. They are no longer visible at EV-CPO for the current listings too. Only the archived listings for Model Y and Model 3 have it at this time. Instructions from this link might still work. Worth trying anyway...

I see that you also have a Single chip steering gear. I am seriously starting to see a pattern here.

M3 LR Steering wheel feels funny

The side cameras situation scares me (B-pillars). When you cross the junction, the car makes a life/death decision to move forward based on inputs from that camera. I am not even sure if it is angled properly. There should be at least two of them IMO for autonomy to safely function (redundancy...

M3 LR Steering wheel feels funny

Absolutely. First, they cripple the car (No SAE ADAS level 3 ever). Then the car develops issues after the update. It must not have been tested sufficiently before the release. And I agree. A promise that ("next year") your car will become autonomous and a robotaxi (will be making money for...

Of course! Good luck with this!

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Re "I even saw the boot open in the app when they had finished charging so somewhat fuming that they kept insisting no-one had been in the boot" -Then there are logs confirming this. Very easy to pull/check. But mind you, if you do nothing, they will be deleted after some time (I don't know if...

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

I am sorry to hear that, mate. Hope things will work out for you. Can they check the CCTV footage how it all went missing? Let's be honest it's theft if you are certain that and can prove it. Did they tell you what part number steering rack you have?

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Yes, I think that's what happened as well. I admit it's a pain in the butt —extra labor, time, inconvenience, and parts. Not exactly "eco" too. The chip shortage and pursuit of cost savings probably contributed to the decision to remove it. But weirdly, Musk keeps saying, "All HW is there. The...

    [UK] 2023.2.x

If the car is from Shanghai, this could also be the reason. Possible SW/HW mismatch. Not sufficient testing before the update release. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/7457584/

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

That's what I considered. Different HW config => SW does not account for certain behavior/signals. And that leads to some weird feedback loop. Jerkiness, "notching".

Steering wheel not able to drive straight

Guys, this might be related. I am pretty sure they gave you single-chip steering racks. (FYI no FSD possible with them. You need a redundant power supply, communication bus, and two chips in a steering rack to qualify or aim at SAE ADAS level III) Now Tesla hides that information in their EPC...
