I searched, but did not find any related discussion. Last week Tesla bumped the horse power on the P85 Model S from 416hp to 470hp (rear wheel drive). This is a significant improvement, why is the acceleration rate still the same (0-60 in 4.2 sec)? Am I missing something?

Who said I will have to decide? Who said I am forcing Tesla? I just said what is an acceptable amount for me and what's not. Tesla made extra money from my purchase because I paid the full price and they did not have to include the new sensors - so I am expecting a slightly better offer for my 2...

That's exactly what's wrong with most of the comments on this thread - they don't even get the problem, but are very fast at calling other members names. Just see my previous comments on this and other threads, do not feel like explaining everything over again.

Exactly, the problem is that they started shipping new features without announcing them. This caused a lot of happy/surprised customers but also a lot of pissed new Tesla owners. Every other company first announces their new products and then starts shipping them. Tesla did it the other way around.

I am waiting on a quote from Tesla. $6k would be ok with me, $8k is too much.

I seriously doubt you would still say that if you missed the new sensors by 2 days because Tesla decided to produce and ship your car earlier. Obviously if I bought my Tesla back in 2012, I could also care less what petition somebody is trying push.

It's not that complicated - companies usually have 30 days money back guarantee. - - - Updated - - - I own a Tesla and I signed the petition.

You don't even get what the issue is here. If you bought your Dell laptop yesterday and today Dell announced a better laptop for the same price, I am sure Dell will give you a refund or do something to make you happy.

Of course you are OK, only people who missed the sensors by few days are complaining (including myself). I have not seen one comment from a new owner that missed the new sensors by few days and is ok with it. It is very easy for some of you to say that you got what you paid for when you are not...

My beef is not with the AWD but with the new sensors - Tesla just randomly decided who will get them and who will not. If I want a random outcome, I will play the lottery - I do not find this appropriate when you spend $112k for a car.

For a short time last night I also thought about selling my 2 weeks old P85 in oder to get the new sensors (don't care about AWD since I live in Florida). I think I will lose more then 10k and that's just too much. I wish I could add the sensors for let's say, $4000? I would jump on that right...

I read somewhere (USA Today maybe?) that none of the new features are retrofittable, unfortunately.

I think it will be a very bold move if they remove the mirrors and replace them with cameras.

I personally think not many people bought the + option and that's why Tesla eliminated it.

Just curious - what are those sensors inside the mirror box? I know the cables are for the motor that moves the mirror, but what are the other cables for?

I read on some websites that Tesla said they cannot retrofit those features, but nothing is official yet. There is still hope. Let's wait and see.

I agree 100% with you. If those new features came few months down the line, I would not even think about it, but in my case was a matter of 2-3 days. Either way, I love my new P85. I am still afraid to press the gas pedal all the way down :)
