Orangeville showed as "Busy" on the nav yesterday and sure enough when I plugged in, I found that several stalls were out of order. The station was reduced to about 50% capacity. While I charged, a Tesla service tech showed up in a Model 3 and started the repair. No idea how long it had been...
Round-trip Gananoque only adds 1.9km to your trip. Kingston V3 adds 1.3km. For me it's a wash. I personally prefer groceries and Tims at my charging stops. Kingston V3 is a bit of a dead area, minus Panera and Pita Pit, unless you hit a drive-through on your way.
I ordered a refill kit and will attempt to replace only the silicone edge for mine. Replacement blades were sold out on the Tesla store and this was the option I landed on.
Possible expansion underway! I'm a little skeptical given this is new and large already, but there's a lot of electrical conduit staged next to an excavated site parallel to the existing row of stalls. All covered in tarps so difficult to see what was done so far. What else could it be?
I...
Not about "more revenue" at all. It's about preserving fast charging availability for everyone. You can't expect to pay a flat rate per kWh AND tie up a precious spot while only drawing perhaps 10kW while your battery gets close to full. It's not a fair representation of the full cost to deliver...
There's very little chance of this data ever being reliable, thus useful. When only 1 out of 20 stalls are "pull in" (which is often the case), how will you even know it is available when you get there?
No idea what FUSC stands for but either way, no harm in delaying this decision until you've experimented through at least a few seasons. Why rush? Try it with what you have until it no longer works well enough for you.
I have Model 3 base aero wheels on my Model Y LR and yes they do fit well. But be aware that older iteration of the Model 3 aero wheels have a lower load rating than the newer ones. Ideally the ones you'd want would be from a newer Model 3, 2020 onward IIRC. This thread is the authority on the...
Yes, no problem at all. My MYLR loses < 3% per week while parked. Make sure you also disable any third party tracking services like TeslaFi, as to not wake the car up constantly.
If you are interested in renting your car out on Turo, here's a list of insurers that support this:

BelairDirect is on the list. I'm with TD and am considering switching. Unfortunately CAA is not on the list.
V3 does share an available total supply for the cabinet, but it's just high enough you'd mostly never notice. But it is noticeable if you show up expecting 250 and other cars are doing the same. See here.
The car in your signature can take up to 48A, depending on the capability of the L2 charger. Many (eg Flo) are only 30A, but many Tesla destination chargers are wired for 48A for those who can take it.
Can your car take 48A? The chargers I linked to could have given you closer to 10kW. All you needed was to get back to Cambridge SC, not all the way home. Less than an hour of charging L2 charging.
Not a disaster at all, and IMO you did have other options. You only needed another 40km worth of range to get to Brantford Supercharger, which was on your way home. It could have been made up in less than an hour at a destination charger such as Springbank Medical Center | PlugShare
Good little stop! Very close to the highway, huge station, ideal for a snack and bathroom break. Teslafi says I hit at least 252kW. 11% to 49% in 10 minutes - Very Nice.
Urban to 150 is a different story.. aren't they both V2 cabinets either way? Upgrading to V3 is a much bigger step up, from supporting 2 stalls per cabinet to 4. IMO no concrete was broken in the upgrade from Urban to 150kW stalls, whereas the effort to upgrade to V3 would be significantly higher.
Why would they remove perfectly good infrastructure to upgrade when they could invest in a net-new site and leave the old one in place? These stations are not very old.
Tesla is accelerating their lobbying for better multi-unit residential building L2 infrastructure: EXCLUSIVE: The Tesla blueprint for public EV charging in Ontario I think we need that as much as we need more Superchargers in Vaughan. Supercharging as your day-to-day charging is a terrible...
Model Y middle seat folds down, suits a bag of skis perfectly. IMO it's a better alternative to putting them anywhere outside the car. Cleaner, safer, less drag, cheaper.. Not sure about the Model 3 rear seats.
They will be absolutely fine on margins. Their order backlog was deep, and they spent the bulk of 2022 unwinding older orders with lower prices reflected IMO. What I paid in September is within $3k of the new "discounted" price, because my order date was November 2021 and it took that long for...
