    Model X bottle jack

I found that using a low adapter on a flat top jack like the 2 Ton silver Tonda ideal and stable for lifting all Tesla models. The Tonda jack does not have the wobbly tray that holds the thick standard and unnecessary "hockey puck" that makes the top unstable and likely to bend. I've tested...

    Model X bottle jack

According to the reviews, the jack has a tendency to bend. It is basically a cradle for the "hockey puck" style jacking pad. The additional one inch of thickness and height, while not an issue for the high clearance Model W would not allow the jack to be used on other lower clearance Tesla...

Jack pads for the new model 3 and Y from Berlin factory

Can you use a caliper and give me the exact dimensions including diameter and depth of the 19mm socket? I have made scissors jack adapters that fits the new smaller aperture, but they are a loose fit.

    Model X bottle jack

Is there any interest here in a bottle jack with a custom made adapter that stabilizes it to the jack point socket of a Tesla Model X?

    Scissor Jack

Mine don't bend. I recommend the Torin Big Red T10152 1-1/2 ton or the Tonda 2 ton. I've fully tested both and they are sturdier than OEM jacks from Toyota and Lexus. Here's a photo of the Tonda used for a heavier Fisker Ocean.

Hockey puck holder scissors jacks; Not suited for low clearance or Model Y Austin built Teslas I recently saw a large number of scissors jack available that are no more than holders for the original "hockey puck" jack point adapters. That adds over an inch or 25.4mm more than necessary to...

I've uploaded photos of the last Audi A6 aluminum thack that I modified for the Tesla Model 3. The bushing is 20MM or .79 inches and is machined from a rare 1.75 inch diameter UHMW Spectra round. The countersunk flat head M6x1.0 A2 stainless steel socket head cap screw is threaded into a...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Sorry, I'm not allowed to sell it here. You'll have to search elsewhere or make your own. Only a few specific Audi aluminum jacks are suitable for conversion, and many used ones are not in good shape. I found it to be much better than the conventional Porsche aluminum scissors jack that...

This photo shows the label on the Audi jack. It's rated at 960 Kg or 2117 lbs. It will lift one corner of an Audi SUV. The German engineers had calculated that it's capacity is sufficient. Most all scissors jacks have an safety capacity of at least 2x to 3x of their rated capacity. Another...

Model Y AWD - puck size discrepancy

It's 12mm thick. A half inch equals 12.7mm. Baltic Birch plywood is manufactured in Finland, Russia and the Baltic states from slow growth birch trees. It has tripled in price, since it cannot be legally imported from Russia because of the war in Ukraine. Wood was the preferred material for...

Obviously, you don't know Baltic Birch plywood. Historically, Baltic Birch plywood is stronger than steel or aluminum by weight and has been used in the original Wright flyer, Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis, and Howard Hughes "Spruce Goose." It use in the De Havilland Mosquito made it the...

    StanceMagic Spare Tire?

The jack is apparently just another uninspired designed using a modified one inch "hockey puck" jacking pad that needn't had to add an inch to the lowered height of the jack. A thin disk under the center post would have been in order for more clearance.

Full Size Spare Tire - everything I learned after 3 months of research

The 750Kg is a dynamic load rating. That means a greater than required capacity for one corner of the car supported by a scissors jack under a static load. Manufactures have more to consider than a jack's ability to support a car for tire changing. Carrying a jack for the full life of the car...

Full Size Spare Tire - everything I learned after 3 months of research

The 1998-2004 Audi aluminum jack is better suited for conversion to the Tesla jacking socket on account that it has a steel flat top. This is actually one of my conversions using a stainless steel disk and a green machined Delrin knob. So converted, it will fit into the plastic case.

Full Size Spare Tire - everything I learned after 3 months of research

All Audi scissors jacks are sufficiently rated at 1020 KG or 2117 lbs. Since it's lifting only one corner of the car, it is sufficiently designed to reduce weight designed to be carried for the life of the vehicle. Most all quality scissors jacks are required by safety standards to have a...

Full Size Spare Tire - everything I learned after 3 months of research

It is a lot more important to keep the jack from slopping off the frame of the car, since that is a very small contact surface. It can be accomplished securely with a locked in adapter between the jack and the Tesla's jacking socket. This is one example. Many newer scissors jacks like the...

Full Size Spare Tire - everything I learned after 3 months of research

Most jacks like the $22 Torin Big Red sold on Amazon are conservatively rated 1-1/2 ton and will suffice to lift one corner of any Tesla model. Hydraulic press testers on YouTube have tested these jacks to fail at over four tons. So, they are safe to use on any Tesla. More importantly...

Model Y AWD - puck size discrepancy

I would purchase a set specified with 20mm posts or made for the Model S, since early Model S' used a 20mm socket and later switched to the larger 25mm. Amazon provides paid free returns, so you can send them back if they do not work out.

I'll use the pads. The jack points as specified in Tesla's manual. Not all lifts use runner pads. Some lifts have serrated linear lift contact arms that are supposed to grab onto the notched pinch welds of conventional unibody cars. That would cut into the thin aluminum structure of the...

First Flat in my Model S Plaid: Lessons Learned

Size and weight be damned. When I can get up the money, I'm buying an extra tire and wheel as a full size spare. Just put the full size spare on and forget plugging anything. Take the punctured tire to the shop and have it repaired and patched from the inside like it should be. Or, if it...

First Flat in my Model S Plaid: Lessons Learned

I originally modified an electric scissors jack by removing the swivelling attachment to use with 1/2 inch post Safe Jacks Rennstand adapters on my Lexus RX350. When I got my Mod 3, I made the adapter with a smaller 5/16 inch post and found it to work just fine with the new car. Since then...

First Flat in my Model S Plaid: Lessons Learned

I stand corrected. However, there is no need, since a 2 ton is all you need. The only issue I would have with that jack is that the swiveling top is not compatible. You'll have to remove it by drilling out the retaining rivet and fit a Tesla compatible jacking socket adapter like this one...

I know that the OP mentioned that he would take the tire to Discount Tire to have it repaired from the inside. They will not repair a tire that has been plugged from the outside. I had one go flat on my Lexus RX350 a few years ago. I plugged it. When I took it to Discount Tire to have it...

How do I lift/jack my LFP Model 3?

Nonsense! Maybe not on the Model S with the glass reinforced jacking blocks, but on all other newer models, you need jacking adapters or pucks to prevent damage to the aluminum that makes up the jacking socket area on the battery. Your statement is equivalent to, If nature meant man to fly...

It's called a breaker bar on account of it's intended function, not how it's made or its component parts. To be used as a breaker bar, the ratchet in this case must be strong enough to take the torques applied to it when used to break loose tightened bolts. A standard ratchet wrench, not...
