Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Got an email yesterday from my contact at Tesla who is a project manager for northeast superchargers: They've hit a delay that will push the opening of the Richmond Ave station to sometime in the first or second quarter of 2024. No details as to what that delay is, but it has to be a...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Well, a bit of an update. This goes back a couple of weeks but since it didn't make too much of a difference, I didn't post anything. I was able to get in contact with someone at Tesla who is a project developer for northeast supercharger installations. She was very nice and replied back...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Went by there are few days ago... no change. Also though, the Stop and Shop is doing work itself, the area around where the new transformer is to go (see the last photo I posted) is a mess...almost no room to work. Meanwhile, 4th Gen/350kw chargers have made their first appearance in the...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Just reply to my own message: The Pep Boys by Bloomingdale Road have the pucks for Teslas. They were able to plug the hole in the tire with no issue. In fact, the guy did it while it was on the lift.

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Off topic from our eternal wait for the Richmond Ave Supercharger station.... I got a screw in my right rear tire I guess today. The car is drivable for now, but the tire needs a plug. Anyone recommend a place on Staten Island that knows the proper way to jack up the car so the wheel/tire...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Drove by the site yesterday and no changes at the actual charging station. However, the open conduits on the side/back of Stop and Shop have an a new addition. I was under the impression those cables were getting attached to the existed transformer in the photo. But now, I see a new...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

I wonder if the electrical connections were made at the other end- on the side of the Stop and Shop- to the transformer box there. Definitely going to drive by tomorrow morning.

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Just went over to Stop and Shop... no change. That list from my previous message back six days ago, remains the same. I really wish we could find some contact who knows what is going on with this installation.

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

It really is a bit ridiculous that almost all the physical structure goes up in a matter of a couple weeks to a month, and then takes six more month to do the last few steps. From what I can see the following needs to get done: 1) Hook the electric cabling from the supercharger to the power...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

So we have a little bit more progress as of today. The conduits that were waiting underground are hooked up to the supercharger transformers as the photo shows. At the other end however, those same lines remain waiting to be connected to the power supply on the side of the Stop and Shop...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Went by again this morning. No change- the large conduits are still waiting to be hooked up to the charging station and to the power source behind the Stop and Shop. I did tape this to the charging station's transformer....lol. I'll check back later next week to see if we get an answer.

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Not a problem. I live less than ten minutes away and pass by at least a couple times a week. I don't think this is months away, maybe a couple weeks at best, probably end of July. Those large conduits are almost certainly to hook up the electric supply. Then it just needs electric meters...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Went by there a few minutes ago (Sunday, June 25)… Still not active, but that hole they opened up has what looks like conduit lines now. As you can see in the photos (I think…lol) there are six large lines coming from the parking lot and five that are right under the electric boxes that serve...

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Well, they have 24 or so days to meet that June 30 date. Since there are no electric meters installed, it's pretty obvious why nothing happened when you plugged in...lol.

Supercharger - Staten Island, NY - Richmond Ave

Hi all... I'm new here. Waiting for my Model Y... should be arriving in about two weeks or so. Anyway, was by Stop and Shop today and took some photos of the supercharging station there. It's waiting for two things- lights and electric meters. It's been this way for a couple of months now...
