MagBak wireless charger...a couple of questions

Ordered a magbak last year - not been happy with it. it keeps slooowwwwwly sliding out of place. :(

Why is the charge port in the back?

super annoying problem with the port on the back - charging in angled parking spaces. https://photos.plugshare.com/photos/261610.jpg

Tesla owes me a refund, and my Registration is late

My tags hadn't arrived when my 45 day temp tags expired. I contacted them about it via text. They (delivery center) confirmed they hadn't submitted DMV paperwork yet, and basically told me to wait. (◔_◔)

    Bogus "Gas Savings"

That difference seems to be regular vs premium. Seems that comparing the "kind of ICE car a Tesla buyer is likely to be switching from," assuming premium is a good baseline.

Gemini Wheel Covers => Damaged Rims

My car was delivered with curb rash that took a pea sized chunk out of the rim and it took multiple trips, bounced between locations, and waiting around HOURS to get them to reapprove a replacement on appointment day, after being approved previously and waiting a month for an appointment, before...

Saris MHS hitch with model y

No direct experience, but looked at it. Looks cool, except for the weight - it's something like 39lbs without any bike carriers iirc!

The slippery slope of electrical upgrades - or help I'm still charging at 120V!

I'm all electric already other than the furnace and range top, and have the two EV drops for one ev. I expect any replacement appliances will be more, not less energy efficient. But regardless, get a load calc done - you can talk about potential future needs when doing that too... it's not like...

The slippery slope of electrical upgrades - or help I'm still charging at 120V!

This. No point in spending money for a 400amp panel to future proof if you're currently on a 100amp and well within limits on a 200amp panel and will likely never actually run into the limitations of that panel. We're in a 2500ft2 house, with central air, 2 electric ovens, electric dryer, 2...

2023 Model Y no USS discussion, incl. Discussion of Tesla Vision Firmware

Haha, I've gotten a tractor trailer in the garage. Good stuff. This one isn't USS / parking related, but shows how bad vision is. I'm parked behind the line at a light, next to a pickup, and I get this lousy image. Also attached a view with camera by my eye position, so you can see line and screen.

Is this confirmed on newer Model Ys? The manual states:

Anybody installed a Carbon Fiber hood on a Model Y? (photos please)

Golf ball dimpling helps keeps the flow attached where it would separate on the back end of the ball - not an issue with a flat-ish hood. A rougher hood is definitely less aerodynamic.

New 2023 model Y doesnt include homelink?

doing some googling, looks like many cars turn off homelink, many leave it on. Ford, Toyota, and Mazda don't. my vw and Volvo do. sounds like gm does, Hyundai doesn't. weird.

New 2023 model Y doesnt include homelink?

I'd bet that was for some limited amount of time where accessory power was available after turning off the car. None of my cars have had the homelink buttons available shortly after turning the car off. with auto open deactivated, homelink will pop up automatically on the screen when near the...

    new Tesla registration question

I did not create "another" anything about this. I didn't. looks like mods merged my thread. Your nonfactual whining feels a lot less necessary. 1) why's that important info? Regardless of state, the delivery center hasn't even SUBMITTED paperwork by the time the temp tags expired. that feels...

    new Tesla registration question

My 45 day temp tags expired, and I haven't received my plates, so pinged Tesla. Response was "We will process your paperwork in order, but as fast as we can." So... this location has 45+ days of cars they haven't processed? WTF?!

    Aftermarket ventilated seats

?? The description on your site says "PVA leather," which, of course, is neither leather nor breathable. It's also a cover, over the non breathable OEM seats. How does that help with breathability?

    HomeLink DIY install

I already had myq capable doors that were already setup in the app, and still went with homelink, despite it being more expensive, after doing the subscription trial. The garage door openers' wifi (I have 3) isn't great, so drops relatively often, despite every other device working well in the...

Vendor Tesery Mini Tesla Display Screen for Model 3/Y - Ultra Compact LCD Instrument

Pretty sure they're not developing these things themselvs. Yeah, probably not. Engineers often aren't the ones deciding on the features - they have requirements flowed down to them. We know one of the big drivers in design for Tesla has been driving cost down.

Navigation/GPS not working on brand new Model Y

there's no way it should take gps 200 miles to start acquiring satellites - it's a bullshit excuse. It might take a standalone gps up to 15-20 minutes to start calculating the first fix on a cold start as it downloads the full almanac of ephemeris data for the first time, but a always connected...

Is a new, "previously repaired" Model Y worth it for a steep discount

If there's nothing on vin checks, sounds like a good, but not great deal (given the discounts of $2k+ on model y and $4k+ on model 3 inventory vehicles). if it shows up on vin checks, heck no.

    From 2019 M3 w/USS to MY Vision

Have a ~1 month old model y with vision for parking. Honestly, it's a hot mess compared to USS in cars from a decade or two ago (maybe longer). You can't believe it, which makes it mostly useless. Sometimes I'll be like 2' away from something and it shows the line halfway through my hood.

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

Confused. How does this remove the worry about a 3rd party cloud service going out of business when it still relies on the myQ backend?
  29. P

2023 Model Y no USS discussion, incl. Discussion of Tesla Vision Firmware

Sort of. More of a crazy front curb wag. Why I park with the car with a good 6 inches to the curb, it normally shows the curb line halfway across my frunk. Given how bad it is, I don't consider it to have any sort of front parking assist.

can't program homelink and liftmaster security+ w/ myq

So I ended up ordering a chamberlain bridge kit, which it seems a few other people have had success with, along with a new OEM 893LM. Tesla Noob -- What to consider before ordering a Model Y?

For accessories, I'd say chill out and see. I had plans for getting this and that, getting ppf or vin, etc, etc. But a couple weeks in? the only must haves are the console bins. ha. Those stupid cavernous holes become a whole lot more useful with the bins. That said, whatever accessories you...

    Model Y hitch receiver tolerance.

totally normal. if you had a combo that was tight before, it's someone dumbluck stackup 9f tolerances. iirc, a typical 2" hitch is something like 2.12 +/- .05". and the shank of your trailer / accessory obviously needs to deal with being on the small side of that tolerance, and it has its own...

Just got a homelink module installed and it's driving me crazy trying to program this thing. Following the setup instructions for standard mode, my MYLR never blinks its lights when I click the remote. I've tried it dozens of times. I've tried holding the button for 30+ seconds, I've tried...

I took delivery of my Model Y in Roswell GA today. Something unexpected when yaking express delivery - they wouldn't handle over keys to look over the car before I accepted all items in the app (I'd already given them the check). They literally wouldn't lete open the door to take a look I...

    Interfacing with Tesla

Hello all - I've been searching, but can't find the info I'm looking for regarding how third parties interface with the Tesla controls. Is there a good resource somewhere for whatever interfaces hardware such as the tesla M3/MY rear screens and S3XY buttons use for seat heating, air, media...
