Yes, it's an older S and sadly doesn't have DAB, only FM/AM so Tunein is very useful. I've no idea if an upgrade is possible but it's likely too expensive. I'm currently saving up for pyro fuse upgrade.

Agreed, but is the car monitoring the voltage of the batteries in the fuse or are Tesla just doing a rolling recall based on their guesstimate of the batteries' expiry date?

Mine neither, May 2015. Perhaps it needs a software update to trigger it and Tesla are possibly drip-feeding the updates to prevent a class action and also they're going to have a supply issue for the new fuses which they need for new builds as well as retrofits.

An interesting twist at the end of this article suggests that even some cars with the new powered fuse might get the error code if their car is older but has a new, not reman, battery...

Agreed. Tesla implemented a recall for the eMMC chip issue and the pyro fuse is a critical safety component. If they can take a financial hit by dropping the price of their cars they can show responsibility concerning the safety of their customers, emergency responders and the public.

40k miles on a 2015! Do you know if this was for dropping the battery or the easier bottom access?

I hope it's the one in the frunk fusebox (and not the one in the battery pack that the Youtube video referred to and another post on this thread talked about dropping the battery pack..)
