I had the EAP already, so I bit on the FSD. First drive this morning. Skittish, but it's learning. My big question is, how do I condition the nav to follow the EASY way to work (one highway to another, to my exit), instead of wanting to weave through side roads to potentially save 11 seconds?

I had just paid the $6K to get the EAP function, before a trip from Maryland to Tennessee. It was soooo nice to have. If the FSD is only $2K more, I think I'll just take the plunge, since I'm most of the way there already.

A clear cam view would be nice. My partner's Lexus provides a crystal clear, color "bird's eye" view of surroundings. It's surprising that Tesla hasn't surpassed that yet.

Interesting... when I bought my MSP in May of last year, I had a $99/mo subscription offer for EAP, or a $199/mo subscription for FSD in my app. The dealer rep showed me, so I thought it was legit. This was in Maryland.

Did Tesla do away with the monthly EAP subscription? I'm about to head out on a trip, and it's not available in my app anymore.

Anyone but Mr. Tire! I've found a great shop in the Elkridge, MD area... Albright Service Center. They've done a fantastic job with my old Audi S5. Seems many of the smaller shops are leery about touching Tesla wheels/tires.

I wish I fit into the Model 3. I tried, but just couldn't get comfortable. I couldn't enter/exit without hitting my head, and it felt cramped in the driver's seat.

I do keep my hands on the yoke, but tend not to "yank" on it enough to register as "attention". It would be nice if it had a presence sensor, vice a torque sensor.

Now Tesla needs to engage the horn as an alert to the driver, and as evidence of an attempt to alert the other driver, in the event a collision does occur. I can see scenarios where there are just no exits, and braking results in a rear-end collision. Maryland here... we share 🤬 idiot drivers...

This brings up an interesting question for me... is there anything "special" about Tesla tires/wheels that would inhibit a competent tire shop from doing this? I heard that Firestone has developed some capabilities to perform alignments on Tesla. What about smaller shops and tire replacements?

Makes sense... Does anyone have experience with all season tires? We don't get the winter precip here so much (unless we get a Nor'easter that drops blizzard level snow), so the more aggressive tread patterns don't add much.

Wow! Two is too far away, where I live (Maryland, US). Other drivers are constantly cutting in front whenever there's a car's length plus two inches, and it drove the FSD (and even the smart cruise control) crazy with panic-like reactions.

Thanks for this. I do like some of the aftermarket yokes, but I'm content with keeping this one looking good. Nice to hear the wear issue has been resolved.

Bought my MSP in May this year... I'm loving every minute with it. I keep hearing about the "vegan leather" yoke wearing out... so I'm already planning for an upgrade.

It would certainly be nice to be able to pre-condition my car from a website, when I don't have access to my phone.

It did. I was put back to the traffic-aware cruise control and one-lane autosteer.

I'm still trying to sort out all of these capabilities... What I know now is that I seem to have standard cruise control, and that if I change lanes (with the turn signal), my "EAP" turns off. Is that normal?

LOL... I've been pretty impressed with the folks working in my local dealer. They've been straight shooters so far.

I got a whopping 3 weeks of FSD before my "trial" period expired. At this point, I just want to see what (if any) response there might be. It costs them nothing to turn it on, and it provides them tons of data. Why not just ask?

I just checked with my Rockville, MD dealer, and was assured that the cars do undergo a four-wheel alignment before they're delivered. I've had no tracking issues, and my tire wear seems good... although I only have 3500 miles on it. Seems there's some disparity in messaging.

FWIW, I've pinged Tesla on X, asking for them to consider ponying up FSD as an act of goodwill, to those who bought their cars earlier this year. Maybe if enough people do that, something good might happen. Who knows...?

The wheels don't come aligned when new? I had no idea. Wow. Did you bring your car to a Tesla dealer to have the alignment done, or some other place?
