    frunk versus $#!?%

Thanks so much for everyone's feedback and input. Thanks also to the team at Tesla's Palo Alto Service Center. Replacement part ordered and will be painted to match etc.

    frunk versus $#!?%

Good point. Agree no damage to hood, etc. From a quick search online there's definitely a used parts market for the front bumper (#6005889-00-C OEM). Hard to imagine carting that part away in broad daylight, though. I'm now trying to sort out if anything is missing from under the front...

    frunk versus $#!?%

Shopping at local market via our late-2014 Model S. Super busy parking lot. Returned w/ groceries to find what's shown. My best guess is that the newly abandoned pry tool was used to attempt to pop the frunk (which was empty) and instead unexpectedly levered off the front piece. The frunk...

    AP1 new software update

Updated my original AP1 Model S. Noticing two things, neither great. First, misreading of speed limits. Eg, apparently the speedlimit on the 280 between Woodside and Sand Hill is now well over 100 mph. Second, autosteer speedlimit has been greatly reduced (to below actual speedlimits) on divided...

Harris Ranch is getting first battery swap station

I'm a S85 owner in Menlo Park, CA with extended family in LA. We've made four SF-to-LA round trips via Harris Ranch since October 2014 most recently this past weekend. I've yet to receive a battery swap invite so I'm puzzled by statements that all CA owners have now been invited to swap. I...

I did not get TACC with 6.1, should I have?

Follow up to my earlier post in this thread. Took my non-tech package 85S in for service. Car was delivered in Sept 2014 with new hardware. Asked if there was a software retrofit I could pay to have installed to enable adaptive cruise control. This triggered lots of back and forth, followed...

I did not get TACC with 6.1, should I have?

I took delivery during the same narrow window of time (i.e., ordered without the tech. package but received an early autopilot hardware build). From my own limited perspective the car I took delivery of came with more features than I ordered and paid for (e.g., parking sensors, lane departure...

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

front bumper sensor Yes. There's a sensor in the middle of the front bumper, too. The hardware looks exactly like what @AmpedRealtor shared via post #72 earlier in this thread (great catch!); much clearer photos. I'm somehow already over an image upload quota; here's a link to a photo...

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

Best wishes for tomorrow! Here are photos from inside and outside of the rear-view mirror. Also grabbed a shot showing the specific 5.14 build.

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

@breser As best I could tell from the MyTesla website status my car was in production by 9/15, whether this means it started that day or before I have no idea. The lane departure warning is a modest vibration in the steering wheel. This seems very similar (identical?) to a friend's E63 AMG...

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

Quick reply to a few posts. Pre 6 software. Need to check exact 5.# version. Correct to infer I had not ordered parking sensors. I also did *not* order the hardware package. Just waking up here. I try to upload a photo in a bit. - - - Updated - - - sorry about typos. By "hardware package" I...

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

Picked up 52### at the factory today. Was surprised to find lane departure and speed assist features installed and active. Also had parking sensors. Very happy. DS said cars made last week had new features. Cheers.
