My 8169 mile cross country road trip experience

It looks like a great trip! How did you make the map with your routes and stops? Joe

Anyone have experience running spacers on the rear wheels only?

Did you end up doing the rears only? I’m thinking about the same. Some good looking cars have wider rears than fronts like the 911 and it looks cool

Is there a reason to get the Tesla wall connector over other level 2 home chargers?

I've had the tesla wall connector for 2 weeks now and it's been fine and very fancy. What I'm finding is the the car is actually in the garage most of the time and I'm not driving 273 miles every day (model 3 rwd) so I'm kinda thinking simply charging with the 110v wall socket at 3-4 miles per...

    Apps for mileage comparison

The amount of energy is, in fact, the same. Let's go with a 10kg mass from 0 to 20 meters/second (about 45mph) and let's accelerate it at 10m/s2 and 5m/s2. It's not f=ma we need to use, it's how much kinetic energy do we need to put into the mass to get it to 20m/s? That formula is E=1/2mv2 and...

    Apps for mileage comparison

Ah so maybe it's about efficiency? As in when we have two situations that result in the same total power expenditure (accelerating the same mass to the same speed just over different times) that the high power/short duration situation is less efficient than the low power/long duration? That...

    Apps for mileage comparison

Yes...but why? You spend less time accelerating if you do it quickly. Why doesn't it cancel out the increased energy?

    Apps for mileage comparison

Checking our Stats and Tessie now, thanks :) Also switched Trip B to lifetime so that's super helpful too. Finally, the wh/mi search has yielded a ton of stuff. I got the hitch mounted to the car today and put two bikes on a tray style hitch mounted carrier. Drove a little under the speed...

    Apps for mileage comparison

Gotta admit, it's tough getting the mileage on the screen. Yesterday we drove 90 miles with a mix of interstate, rural, and city driving and went from 190 mile range to 95 mile range....and I was sorta trying to conserve energy. I'm sure it's possible if we didn't need the A/C and if we drove...

    Apps for mileage comparison

Hi there :) We've had our M3 RWD for about 2 weeks now and just loving it. On my ICE vehicle I track the mileage with an app called Fuelly, I've managed 27.5mpg for over 100,000 in our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica and it's just sorta "how I drive". But with the M3 it's like....what's my mileage? What...

DIY small dog platform for rear seat

Oh a longhair dachshund, that makes perfect sense now :) And also....I'd be making this out of 3/4" plywood, ridiculous overkill. Now that I know a few layers of cardboard will do it....you've saved me. Thank you Sir! Joe

    Who has ordered?

There is no way they are going to be able to meet the prices they thought….is there? I’m like a millionth in line with the base and fsd. Has to get a model 3 to tide me over lol Joe

2023 M3 air conditioner using 70% of energy

We have humidity but our temps in mid Florida top out at 98-100 and the intensity of the sun is probably about the same so I just want to thank you desert southwest folks for figuring out solutions :) Joe

    FSD drives insanely fast??

Ok it sounds like what I’m seeing is at least somewhat typical. On “normal” streets it is freaking amazing. I was like “yeah right” until I experienced it. Joe

2023 M3 air conditioner using 70% of energy

New owner here....the AC doesn't feel super powerful and that glass roof gets way way too hot to touch sitting in the sun. Tint and sun screen is on the way! I'm hoping I can reduce the load on the AC system for both more comfort and efficiency. Joe

    FSD drives insanely fast??

I'm new to this whole thing and feel the same, sometimes fsd feels like it is driving like a maniac on chill mode. But of course we don't have any trust in our relationship yet so there's that LOL. It drives better than some people I have ridden with, I'll give it that! Can I ask a related...
