    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I’d disagree- Given we have the highest per capita penetration and fastest growing market (as % of population) ours is the ideal market to focus on bringing in and testing new and true improvements. Other tech has known this for years - Australians love their new tech toys. In times gone by we...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Welcome to the world of Tesla updates -bizarre! I wish they would just use a normal SDLC approach, all these forked code paths and different distribution versions only confuses us and IMHO increases risk of bugs and reintroducing old ones! If a version is released, make it available to the...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Wouldn’t be hard… but Tesla are light years behind in true usable UI… they need a lesson or two from Apple! Even with this improvements the UI is klunky, and items in sub menus often totally out of context. It’s always the same when the tech drives the UI instead of true user centred design.

Just tested mine again now and is working… finally someone got to work on US Monday to reboot the server 😞

Is this till happening for others? Mine won’t wake up and I have to go and open the door before it wakes up.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Do we know this for a fact? I can’t see how this could sensibly mange the load given the volume and distributed geo nature of “devices”. I would expect (hope!) they use some form of global CDN like Akamai.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

If you don’t force a check for updates by going to the software tab (which is limited to once per 24hrs), how often does it normally check for updates? Feels like this is a bit arbitrary?

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I’m waiting for “True Genius Summon” 🤣 Don’t get why Tesla think just changing the name improves the capability or customers acceptance of lack of capability. (eg Full Self Drive). Having been in the software industry for decades, experience shows that this approach just p@&$es your customers...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Still on 2024.2.7, checking daily. Is it a bad thing? Probably not… but concerning when several different higher major versions have had several updates… and some owners out there with same local spec have got updates… begs the question what are we missing? For me looking forward to adaptive...

    Australian accessory suppliers - recommendations?

I got the true carbon fibre from Tesery (below). It’s a quality piece to look at. However I had it fitted by the detailer that did my PPF and Ceramic and the install is not so good. It’s come away a bit on the right hand side. They blame the spoiler not being the right shape.. I think it’s poor...

Acceleration Boost Not Available on 2024 Models?

It really depends on where you are in the world and your lease arrangement. I’m in Australia and lease my car. As far as Tesla is concerned the car is mine… the lease company just paid for it. I can purchase the upgrade if I want. So I would say it’s probably different all over the world, and...

    Ampol AmpCharge network

AmpCharge app or Ampol app? Talk about confusing! They tell you to use AmpCharge app, then stop functions and want you to move to another app that has all the other stuff for ICE vehicles 😮‍💨 I opened a ticket coz the AmpCharge app shows ApplePay as an option but does nothing… their response...

    Ampol AmpCharge network

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I’ve used Pheasants Nest about 6 times north and south) with my 23MY over the last few months and only once had a false start… and I think it was cellular connection with my phone/app as there were soooo many people there, the ICE filler and car park were almost...

Tesla 3 Windshield pits/stone chips? Is it softer glass than other cars?

I feel for you. Thats why I went with PPF on the front as soon as I got MY. Expensive but valuable protection with so much painted space facing forward. and trucks these days seem to drop so much more crap than I remember from the olden days (when “the world was black and white” as my son says)

I think it takes ~24 hours to flow through… but I personally subscribed before it expired to avoid any hiccups so didn’t see any glitch at all.

Recommended cleaning products (Australia based) for Model Y

I find for me with the PPF and ceramic coating, a pressure wash is good enough to remove 95%+ of the bugs, then foam and hand wash and all is beautiful 🤩

Model Y LR Acceleration Boost still offered?

Interesting it’s a 35,000 credits upgrade here in Australia 🤬 $3,000 to buy which is a bit above the currency exchange rate. Interesting such a marked difference in credits cost. Guessing we are earning too many referrals credits here 🤣

    Tesla Charging Equipment in Australia

Not too many Irish UMC in Australia! and Gen 1 UMC you have to go hunting for second hand. So theoretically correct, but not practically helpful.

Personally I don’t think they need protection… and I certainly wouldn’t buy from Temu.

Recommended cleaning products (Australia based) for Model Y

I think it depends on the wheels you have. I've got the 20" Induction which are quite open, and I use a different mitt which is synthetic "wool like" (and bucket) for my wheels. I do it last. I can see the need for a brush with the 19" Gemini's.

Recommended cleaning products (Australia based) for Model Y

Good choices. I'd never buy the expensive cannons, or pay full price for the Snow Job. Hunt around for a good price. I got the Kärcher FJ6 and Snow Job on special and/or price match by SuperCheap Auto. You can usually pick up a good second hand Kärcher on gumtree quite reasonably. IMHO money...

I went with the Tesla fabric mat for the boot (trunk) in MY and find it robust, easy to clean and still gives that clean boot feeling with no rubber or other smell. I also went with the Tesla carpet mat for the frunk. Both pricey compared to other options out there but I’ve found to be good...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I think the car does a connection/ speed test before it tries for the update, so if signal is not that great that could be the problem? What does the error say? That might help us offer some suggestions. iPhone 7 is also a bit old, so its network (cellular data) and wifi are not that great...

2023 Australian Model Y Window Tinting

I agree! @Das Auto as it is in your own personal interest to say that we need to tint every possible piece of glass we can, some data and facts to backup your claim would help… otherwise it seems that you are just drumming up business. Personally on my 23 build MY I have only tinted front side...

Unfortunately having the same issue updated to 2024.2.7 last night and now no internet connectivity away from home. Two button Restart does nothing… and it’s not a Telstra issue as I’m sitting here using my phone on Telstra to type this… <sigh> Any ideas how to get it back? UPDATE: After...
