Strange how the HEPA filter assembly price is so variable. I was charged $200 for the exact same part number. Other part costs are the same (duct, frunk apron).

When I asked to add the coil cleaning, they wanted to add $110 just to spray cleaner. So it would be $142 to change filter and clean coil. For that I’ll spend 15 minutes DIY.

Please report back! I already did mine but would be cool if they’re officially doing them now. I doubt it’ll be free, though :)

Did you use a fancy car specific coil cleaner, or do we think the kind used for HVAC would work too? Like this one: Frost King ACF19 Foam Coil Cleaner, 1.18 Pound (Pack of 1), 19 Ounce Amazon.com About half the price and seems to do the same thing, unless I’m missing something?

I just did a retrofit of a Model Y that didn’t come with the HEPA filter, and based on the physical design, only the non-HEPA cabin filter could be in the recirculating path. The HEPA filter is right up on the front hood right below an air intake grille.

Where exactly were the tabs you ended up cutting off? I just retrofitted the HEPA filter on a pre-threaded hole 2020 built MY, and didn’t see anything that seemed like it would need to be cut off or needed holes drilled? The filter is a different model number now so I wonder if they’ve changed it.
