I have used mine every morning since mid September last year. My spring is plenty strong enough. You can also unscrew the button lid top counter clockwise and it will come right off for very easy cleaning.

Fair :-) I am not an engineer or a math guy, but my institution tell me that the spinning of an axel in a bearing would not put an unusual load on it making me assume that horse power would not effect it. Now weight, that's a different calculation..
