    SpaceX investor's thread

After 30 minutes of trading today, DXYZ ETF is up 30%. Nice pump and dump setup for those sitting around the NYT newsroom yesterday, just prior to publishing this morning's article.

NASA selects SpaceX Starship system to land on moon - Discussion of Preparations

First takeaway from the 60 minutes story is that NASA's official projection of a late 2026 crewed HLS attempt is highly unlikely. Perhaps 2029 or even 2030 would be more realistic. Secondly, Blue Origin might have made some news tonight. Announcing they expect their HLS cargo version will...

NASA selects SpaceX Starship system to land on moon - Discussion of Preparations

Tonight 3/3/24, 60 minutes will have a segment on NASA's effort to return to the moon. The promos suggest they will be highlighting the HLS competition between SpaceX and Blue Origin. Although to help rouse viewers, I expect 60 minutes might frame this as race between Musk and Bezos.

    SpaceX F9 - IM-1 Nova-C Lander - LC-39A - Includes Post Launch Discussion

Yikes, is this really 2024? Underwhelmed listening to the PDI and delayed landing update. But congratulations, I guess? For a better Real-Time lunar landing experience from 55 Years ago, try Apollo 12 sometime with Pete and Al.

    Astronaut Stories

As an avid collector, I try to keep up with threads on collectSPACE. Over the years the lock issue has been discussed several times. I don't know the sources Eric used for his article, but collectSPACE members can always add detail to historical Space topics. An original Flight Data File (FDF or...

NASA selects SpaceX Starship system to land on moon - Discussion of Preparations

PHD student seemed quite sure of himself in front of that sparse, yet friendly audience. Wasn't very cool for him to emphasize communication, while coming across as patronizing. Specifically, hearing him lecture and shame anyone in attendence who hadn't read "What Made Apollo a Success"....Also...

FWIW, we've bought a MS and two Volts in MA. Picked up the 2014 MS in Watertown, before the state got involved. Drove home the first Volt in 2015 from a used car dealer. The second was last December from a full Chevy dealership. Didn't pay MA tax on any of those vehicles. Finishing the paperwork...

NASA selects SpaceX Starship system to land on moon - Discussion of Preparations

Agree that Artemis 3 SLS readiness, with the Orion heat shield problem or other issues, could easily impact the projected Dec. 2025 launch date. Would agree, the Ax-2 launch looked similar to today's CRS-28. However, here's a screenshot from yesterday's Starlink 6-4 launch at T-02. Here the water jets are already spraying fully on the horizontal versus just after liftoff. Surprised, but there must be some tolerance for this variation...

Competition is good. Successful development of Starship and/or the Blue Moon lander will instill a sense of urgency within both companies. I don't have faith believing NASA's Artemis 5 declaration is any kind of a lock for BO's HLS. That comes with a lot of assumptions. As with Boeing's...
