I guess more training is needed then. I've never been a fan of the vision-only approach but if they pull it off props to them.

Additional sensors would mitigate issues like that (lidar, radar, etc). But I doubt they'll be adding a new sensor suite anytime in the next 20 years.

If you can wait until 2025 or beyond for a new vehicle to get Juniper just do that. It's going to be awhile before it comes out if the statement from Tesla is to be believed.

They should have never removed the sensors and radar, just use it to enhance the experience. Radar + USS + cameras is a superior experience. Cars being sold in the 2020s and on should be more advanced and easier to drive than cars before. That's part of the reason I keep harping on a front...

Cars today should be making it easier to do monotonous stuff like park (they are). Front bumper cam on newer Teslas would make parallel parking and pulling into certain spaces better. Front bumper camera would clear up that last blind spot around the bumper and be useful just to look at. Don't the newer models have a hookup for an additional camera?

Sure, I can drive in low visibility in the snow. I never said it had to be perfect. This guy mainly does drives in sunny California.

Does using your app (or really any other Tesla third party app) affect the infotainment performance of the car?

If you qualify for the incentive and can afford the car and need a car? Go for new. If you aren't in any urgent need of a new vehicle, doesn't hurt to wait to see the refresh. I'm sure there will still be inventory models by the time that drops (possibly even cheaper?).

A model Y with all the highland upgrades is definitely tempting to wait for but also knowing my area gives additional money if the msrp is under a certain amount also makes it tempting to get an inventory model... $34k model Y LR? That's hard to pass up.

Because they decided to use vision over proven rain sensors. Not even a combo of both. 🤷‍♂️

A car touted to be a technological marvel should have sensors to make driving easier. Of course you should be able to drive without them but that's not the point.

Doubt it. The Ryzen cars use different connectors and batteries. I would pay for one if it was offered though.

They could integrate a washer into the cam like the Cybertruck. Yes, it will add complexity to the system but it's possible. I do agree that USS is better. I've been saying that they'd benefit from a mix of sensors and cameras but 🤷‍♂️

If that ends up being the case I'll gladly keep my USS functionality.

hey I'm all for a good software solution and tesla vision is pretty impressive with what it can accomplish. I'm not even really against it per se. I just think it would benefit from a front bumper camera. (im jealous vision only users are getting this hifi park assist 😁)

good point. unless they got an ace up their sleeve there needs to be a front bumper camera so there aren't any blindspots. but maybe this update will "fix" tesla vision.

that's pretty dumb if that's the case but oh well. can't have it all I suppose. Hopefully we get some kind posters to show us how the new park assist looks :)

a steering wheel with a place to rest my hand in the center of the bottom would be nice. some of my older cars (non Tesla) had an area like that.
