What is PW's KW draw when charging from the grid? I have 2 PW's and they are charging at 2.4kw.

In the UK, the default charging rate is 2.4Kw, its only when you get permission from the grid supplier can the installer set the Powerwall to charge at the full 5Kw rate. So it could be that your Powerwall hasn't been configured to charge at a rate higher than the default.

    Powerwall % Degradation

My newly installed PW2 charges full to 15,140 Wh. Maybe its just a question of watching that and working out the degradation over time because I would assume that it will start to lower the max it can charge over time. This value is coming from Home Assistant which uses the API to get this as...

Tesla Powerwall II and Octopus Agile

One way around this is to use Home Assistant in combination with the Octopus and Tesla integrations. The Octopus integration will get the latest rates and you then have to create an automation to decide if you want to let the PW charge from the grid or not. There is no direct integration...

Discussion: How to get status information from your Powerwalls

Difference in Backup Reserve shown between the Tesla apps

    Before I saw that graph I had already worked out the following. Numbers on the Left are from the Tesla app, Right are from Tesla Pros. 0 5 5 10 10 14.5 15 19.5 20 24 25 28.75 30 33.5 35 38.25 40 43 45 47.25 50 52.5 55 57.25 60 62 65 66.75 70 71.5 75 76.25 80 81 85 85.75 90 90.5 95 95.25 100 100

Difference in Backup Reserve shown between the Tesla apps

I had previously thought it was just adding the System's 5% reserve to whatever I had set it to on the Tesla app. But seeing that linear scale in the other thread makes more sense, because 10% Reserve on the Tesla app wasn't 15% Reserve on the Tesla Pros app but more like 13.3%.

Difference in Backup Reserve shown between the Tesla apps

What is the difference between the 10% Backup Reserve shown on the Tesla Pros app, versus the 5% shown on the Tesla app.

Limit charging of PW2 to set hours

Here is what I do. I have my Peak and Off Peak times and Import rates set. The Export rate for both time slots is set to 0. This works correctly and the PW charges on the Off Peak time/rate and then discharges when the Peak time kicks in. I then use Home Assistant and the Solar Forecast...

Why did my Powerwall not satisfy all house demand

This morning I noticed that my Octopus Smart meter showed energy usage from the grid when I expected it not to. The Powerwall had capacity and had already started feeding the house during the grid peak time. But yet at one point there appears to be draw from the Grid. The power draw is well...

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Also note that via the Tesla Pros app I see the IP address allocated to the Gateway. But directly I don't see it, even though the Ethernet shows Connected.

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Just looked at things via the Tesla Pros app and everything seems fine there. NetZero shows the Ethernet as Disabled and Active (Primary)! So it must be the webpages on the gateway webserver have not been updated and since its not considered obsolete Tesla has no intention of fixing that message.

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Interesting that even for you the Ethernet Network shows Disabled and yet a few rows down shows Ethernet Active (primary).

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Same with mine and see at the bottom of my screenshot, when I check for Internet connectivity, it says its successful. So that message is just plain wrong.

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

Like I said, even with this message, everything seems to be working absolutely fine. Surely if there was a loose connection or dirt etc, I would have seen issues with the connectivity, No? The guys even performed a firmware update using the said cable and that too worked fine. I removed the WiFi...

    Connect your Powerwall to Wi-Fi

New user here, so go easy. Just had my Powerwall installed yesterday. It was connected via an Ethernet connection by the installers. Everything seems to be working OK. I then configured the WiFi connection too, just to have some fun. I understood that the Powerwall would use the Ethernet as...
