I have also used rubbing alcohol with good success and no issues.

Who wants in on a class action lawsuit? ;-)

I feel your pain--my experience has been very similar to yours. I have a silver 60 that I bought new in 3/2014. My car has 37k miles. I rarely supercharge and rarely charge over 90% and almost never take it below 20%. I charge on my 14-50 at 30 amp to 85% every morning right before I leave for...

I've taken mine to the Wayne AAA for the past few years without any issues.

    False Advertising - 2014 S60

I've shared my similar story on several of these S 60 threads. About two years ago, my 60 was down to 154 rated miles at 100%. I was charging to 70% at the time because I have a short commute. I floated between 55-70% and only supercharged a few times. I never kept my battery sitting over 90%...

    S60 battery range

Certainly. I had been charging between 50-70% SOC daily for over a year, and my 100% had slowly drifted to 154 rated miles. I inquired with my local SC and NA Service who both said my car was fine. They suggested that I charge to 85-90% SOC daily instead of 70%. I started charging to 85% daily...

    S60 battery range

I have a 2014 S60 that gets 165 rated miles at 90% despite years of trying my best to take care of my battery (Fewer than 10 Supercharging sessions, never leaving it for extended periods of time > 90% SOC, daily SOC between 50-85%, etc.). I currently have 29k miles on my car. At one point my...

    What's your 90%?

I feel your pain. Your experience is very similar to what I went through last year. I used 39 kwH to drive 130 miles (see image) and had 7 miles remaining with alarms firing to find somewhere to charge. Tesla Service said all of their diagnostics looked fine, and unfortunately their...

    What's your 90%?

Sorry to hear that your battery degradation and service center experience have been so disappointing. May I ask to which SOC you charge your car daily? I have a 2014 S 60 that was down to 154 rated miles at 100%. I had been keeping my SOC routinely between 55-75%. The SC and NA Tesla Service...

POLL: Have you had to have your 12V battery replaced?

Just received 12V warning #2 today, unfortunately a few weeks after my 4th year annual service visit and the expiration of my original warranty. Replaced my first 12V battery at 16,000 miles. I have 28,000 miles on my 60 currently. Almost no supercharging (maybe once or twice?) and only...

    2014 MS60 Rated Range

My experience was similar to JonathanD's. I have a 2014 S60 with 27k miles. My 100% rated range was down to 154mi last year. I changed my charging regimen to 85-90% daily (had been 70-75% daily) as Tesla recommended while they repeatedly claimed all was normal with my battery. A year later, 154...

    What's your 90%?

The Service Center stated repeatedly that my battery was fine and that I did not need a battery replacement or repair. I've been charging to 85-90% every morning, and my daily commute brings my SOC down to 65-70%. I've taken a couple of trips that have brought the SOC to around 20%. I plug my...

Near annual replacement of 12V battery is typical according to Tesla Service Tech

That's funny. My second car is a 12 year old Pontiac Vibe with 130,000 miles and it has had as many 12v battery replacements as my 2014 S 60: one. :-)

Sudden large degradation supposedly a "new algorithm"

Thanks for sharing. I've been charging to 90% SOC daily per the SC's recommendation. My 90% range is now up to 138RM from 130RM over a month ago. I brought my car to the SC today. I was told that my battery checked out fine, I should continue to charge to 90%, and that's that. The official word...

Sudden large degradation supposedly a "new algorithm"

Thanks for the suggestion. I emailed ServiceHelpNA at tesla.com. The reply I received on June 9 is below. I've received no contact since then. Is there another email address that I should try? Hello, Thank you for contacting Tesla Customer Support. I have documented your feedback on the...

Sudden large degradation supposedly a "new algorithm"

OP, I had nearly the same experience as you and Piney999, with the same brushoff by my local SC. Very disappointing overall. I wish you the best with your efforts! --- My story: 2014 RWD S 60 (3/2014, VIN 30k) - 22k miles: 90% SOC = 130 rated miles, formerly 180 when new. Lifetime Wh/mi is 308...

At What Point Do I Contact Tesla?

My 2014 S60 has 22k miles and gets 130mi @90% and 145mi @100% (rated). My Service Center said last week that the remote logs showed no hardware issues and that this was all due to a "firmware bug." I was charging to 75% daily and my daily SOC floated between 55-75%. They told me to charge to...

    What's your 90%?

Thanks for your post. I just got off the phone with the Service Center who stated that they reviewed my logs and that there were no hardware issues. They stated that my problems were due to a "firmware bug" and that I should charge to 90% daily (instead of 75%). I explained that I had ranged...

    What's your 90%?

Thanks for your comments. I posted my results to the EV Battery Survey and now can fully appreciate that I am the winner of the Battery Degradation Award, despite following the usual recommendations for battery longevity and driving. I will share my story in a few days when I hear from the...

    What's your 90%?

2014 RWD S 60 (3/2014) - 22k mi - 90% - 130 mi. I charge to 100% (145mi) maybe once every 6-8 weeks and depart shortly after reaching 100%. SOC is almost always at 50-75% as I have a 10mi drive to work. I keep the car plugged in at night and charge from ~55% to 70% at 3am daily. Lifetime Wh/mi...

Simple and Cheap Interior LED Upgrade

Thank you for posting this lighting upgrade. I just upgraded my footwell lights to the same LED arrays--what an improvement! I used double-sided Velcro tape so that I can switch out to different colors/sizes of LED arrays.
