The S70 will be more than fine! I live on the City side, but work in the Valley and my S60 is wonderful. I drive about the same as you do and, in the 7 months I've had the car, have only taken 3 trips requiring Superchargers. You made a great choice. Enjoy your S70!!!
I'm actually heading up to S.F from L.A. this weekend. In the absence of Superchargers, I'd greatly appreciate any advice as to the best charging alternatives in the S.F area. Thanks!
No change for my Model S 60. I charge to 80% each night and I start with a rated range of 167 every morning (which is right on track with the 208 total 60W rating).
I have the grey interior, with the black Alcantara and I love it! I think it feels very warm and classy. While I have not had the car that long, it seems to hide the dust well and then cleans up easy.
Happy for those getting their P85Ds, but I have to admit it's frustrating to see vehicles delivered that have a higher VIN number than my 65083. I'm taking solace knowing it will ultimately be worth the wait.
I got a similar story last night. DS said should have no problem and production should start next week. I appreciated his candor, but couldn't help but question his lack of any facts that made his "next week" statement any more reliable than his "this week" statement.
Kabirakhtar:
I'm in the same position as you. I too ordered an S60 and was told delivery would be late December. I then received a Purchase Agreement which stated a Dec 23 anticipated delivery date. However, I to am still only in the queue.
Don't see how that date will be met, but wouldn't be...
I have never driven a high performance car before. I expect to get my Model S later this month and very much appreciate the tips given in this thread so that I may be properly prepared.
Not sure the numbers on the website are reliable. If you move the slider to Coming Soon you get a much different picture than you do when moving the slider to 2014. Since we are already in December you would think the two versions should be almost identical.
Not sure I agree that other car companies could not quickly catch up. Imagine if BMW or another dealer simply installed free chargers at each of their dealerships. Not complaining mind you -all good for the advancement of the EV world.
