I did that quite a bit and it worked MOST of the time. Once in a while it would just make arbitrary lane changes (no other cars around and no turn lanes) as if it has somewhere it wanted to go 🤣 . In that mode I just want TAAC, not steering so I can dodge the pot holes.

That's true but the sectors can only be written/erased a certain number of times. Mechanical drives are actually superior in this respect, but due to the disks having to turn makes them much slower to read/write. May not be the problem - was just a thought

Tried it multiple times today with another door open or closed. That's not it unfortunately. Sometimes with the door open it slams, other times it's a nice soft close. Same with the door closed??? Go figure. I tried adjusting the bumpers on the lid but that didn't work either.

Mine doesn't close at a different speed like it sounds like yours does. It's just that last inch or so that either is quiet or slams. I think karkrazy may be correct. I'm gonna check it out tomorrow

My 2023 Model YLR rear trunk sometimes sounds like it is slamming closed and other times it closes fairly gently. In both cases it closes and then tightens down. Nothing is in the way and it seems to be totally random. Anybody else experienced this? Fix? Thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, they fixed it but it was in service center for 2 days to do it and it took about 6 weeks to get an appointment. Good thing was it did not at all affect it from a driving point of view so I just kept driving it.

I agree - they ought to share those types of fixes between service centers. I had to make two 3.5 hour round trips and put about 400 miles with free charging on their loaner for something that, at least from your experience could have been fixed OTA. OTA would have save both them and me time...

May not be the issue but if you have in the wrong tire size entered the odometer is going to be wrong. A 19" vs 21" would account for 10.5% difference in mileage.
