    Speed restrictor -July changes

I agree. It's the one thing I miss from my Kia, set the limiter on 30 in town and not having to constantly check the speedo.

    Check List for Highland collection

Some of those check lists are way to involved. The only things to be concerned about in the first instance are damage and stains as these need to be reported within 100 miles to get them rectified free of charge. Those lists get you to check every little thing which isn’t needed as you have a 4...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

I don’t think the issue is RHD, as LHD Model S’s in the UK also didn’t get autopark. Watching videos of autopark in the States, it seems the car can travel quite a distance during the parking manoeuvre, negotiating with other cars and passing on the correct side. I suspect there in lies the...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Just installed 20.6.2 on my 2024 HW4 M3LR with EAP. Just minor fixes, no auto park. Will be interesting to see if it does anything next time I'm over the Channel.

    Enhanced auto pilot not activating

Two things come to mind… Firstly, I have read reports of others having faulty scroll wheels and getting them replaced, maybe this is you. Secondly, my own experience after 3 weeks with a 2024 M3LR with EAP… At first I had several occasions (mainly double presses to activate auto steer) where...

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

I wonder what they will do with Maidstone as it’s a terrible plot of land to expand. Perhaps if they get Faversham open they will just close Maidstone. I’m surprised they haven’t looked at moving to the M20 J11 services.

    [UK] Do I buy a 2016 model S

Looking on black circles, prices start from £81.88 for my 18" wheels. I'd be looking at cross climates which go for £214.30 fitted.

    [UK] Do I buy a 2016 model S

See if you can get a 24-hour test drive in a Model 3. That way you'll know for certain whether the boot will work for you or not.

Best European and UK Breakdown cover?

Another vote for Nationwide. It's a no brainer when you factor in the cost of AA breakdown (UK and Europe) and Aviva worldwide travel insurance for the whole family. Plus you get mobile phone cover on top, although our home insurance covers that too. Also the breakdown cover covers anyone...

Tesla Offering 15000 Free Supercharger miles

Also, by my calculations, 15,000 credits (Tesla miles) should equal 4839 kWh, and using my current gross average efficiency (inc vampire drain) of 271 Wh/mile, should mean I could theoretically get 17,855 miles out of it. Obviously winter will increase my Wh/mile, but it’s still not bad.

Tesla Offering 15000 Free Supercharger miles

Yes, they show under hamburger menu > Charging. Regarding how they calculate it... I worked out that they use 3.1 credits (miles) per kWh added. I checked this at different superchargers and different times of day, it's always 3.1. So, the usual cost at the supercharger is irrelevant which is...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Interesting, I still couldn't see anything. Are they dipped beam only or supposed to work on full matrix too? I'll try again in a few days and focus my attention on the approaching bend rather than steering angle.

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Had a late drive tonight. First time using matrix lights, mostly A roads with a little bit of motorway. They worked well for the most part. They got confused by someone who dipped their high beams late and then had crappy dipped beams. The Tesla went full beam again, so the other car went full...

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Automatic cooled seats seems to work properly now on 2024.20.1, ventilating the seats as needed. On 2024.14.9, the seats only auto heated, but had to be manually set to ventilate.

    Dashcam and collision warning

I strongly suggest not setting, save on honk. Most people honk before being hit which would result in the accident not being recorded. As others have suggested, auto only saves in an airbag deployment. A better option is to have the dash cam app on the quick access bar, tapping it whilst...

Tesla Offering 15000 Free Supercharger miles

I don’t think anyone suggested they are lying, but there is clearly a lot of misunderstanding amongst Tesla staff, as some people received the miles straight away. I was told by my delivery rep, it could take UP to two weeks to show in the app.

Tesla sales continue downwards trend in Europe

I’m surprised Cupra were so far down the BEV list. The Born would have been my second choice after the Model 3.

    Car didn’t charge last night

Well I think you might have been right. It did charge last night, though started later than I was anticipating, but still finished before the end of off-peak (half an hour before, which was a bit annoying, but heigh-ho). It clearly charges quicker than I thought at 2.4kw. So I’m going to assume...

Definitely set to 0700, not 1900. Fingers crossed it charges tonight. Thanks, I will keep that in mind for the next update.

What do you do to get round it? Do you just not use the off-peak function?

    Car didn’t charge last night

Thanks for the reply. I actually tried again last night, setting both the departure time and off-peak time to 0700. This time I checked the app shortly after the time I expected the car to start charging, and it wasn't. I turned off off-peak and it immediately started charging. I still don't...

Nothing unusual. Certain road surfaces produce a vibration, but I've found that with all cars. There certainly isn't a consistent vibration.

    Car didn’t charge last night

Hello, New owner, I only collected yesterday so I apologise for my ignorance. I’m currently charging at home using the mobile connector (240v/10a) as we are planning to move soon, so no point installing a 7 kw charger. I also have off-peak electricity between 0000-0700. I tried a quick charge...

    Can’t get insurance! (UK)

There must be more to it, to get crazy quotes like that. Mine was £800 this year, including a no fault claim. Perhaps it’s to do with your car being seized for lack of insurance? I know you said the police straightened it out, but who knows what resides on the databases.

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

I don’t really understand the usefulness of cornering lights with matrix headlights, surely lighting up all LEDs is more useful than limiting LEDs depending on steering wheel position? Which is how I assume Tesla have implemented it. I have cornering lights on my Kia, but they are separate...

    Timed charging....

Can't you just set off-peak charging on the scheduled departure screen, then it will aim to finish at 0430. Of cause if you need longer to reach your desired SOC it will start earlier than 0030 to complete the charge.

    Stick on vinyl number plates

How easy was debadging? I’m considering the same as I’m not overly keen on the spelt out T E S L A on the 2024 M3. If it was black I’d probably leave it, but as it’s chrome, I might remove all the badges.
  40. A

    Stick on vinyl number plates

Ah fair enough. I thought I read about local authorities using it that might not be equipped for ANPR and whatnot. I think I’ll probably forgo the stripe in that case.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

On my Kia, I just press the cancel button on the steering wheel, which would cancel either cruise control or speed limiter, depending which was currently active. You can floor the accelerator to override, but I don’t think I’ve ever used it, as it’s easier just to cancel with your thumb. I guess...

    Stick on vinyl number plates

I’m looking at getting some vinyl plates for my M3 I’m collecting in a few days time and have a quick question… Are the green stripes actually being used by any local authorities to offer discounts to EV drivers, or was it a failed government project? I’d rather not have it, if it’s not...
