Cost? Windshield crack getting worse everyday - Bay Area CA

I would avoid Safelite in Redwood City if at all possible. I had to take my Model Y there 4 separate times for a single windshield replacement, including two where it sat there all day only to be told they didn't have the part in stock or that the only windshield they had had a scratch on it...

Homelink for Model Y - Is it worth it?

I’m on my 5th Tesla (two Xs, two 3s, one Y). Some had homelink, but my current Model Y doesn’t. I don’t miss it…the controller on my visor is easy and reliable. I use the free MyQ app on my phone to check whether or not the door is closed if I’m ever concerned when away from the house. I...

Same specs for MY at Austin?

Tesla is switching to 4680 batteries to reduce the cost of building their cars. There is no reason for them to increase the range of vehicles that are already selling very well, so it if the 4680 batteries enable the same range with fewer batteries, then I'd expect that they'll use fewer batteries.

    Condensation in tail lights verdict??

When I picked up my new Model Y in Fremont late last month I noticed a bit of condensation in the left taillight. I walked around to look at some other nearby Model Y vehicles that were awaiting delivery and noticed they all had the problem. I haven't noticed it since then.

Yeah, it’s just a bug at their website. They worked when I tried them in another position.

OEM Modely Y Mud Flaps no longer fit?

I went to the Tesla web site to order mud flaps for my brand new Model Y (build date is 1/18/2022) and noticed that it said the mud flaps weren't compatible with any of my vehicles. I double checked to make sure my vehicle didn't already have mud flaps and didn't see any so I went ahead with the...

Your Upcoming Model Y Order Cancelation Email

I got the same e-mail this morning (also 1/13). My plan is to wait until 1/12...I'll be picking it up at the factory (where I assume they'll have freshly built vehicles). I originally ordered it last June, so I think they've been pretty patient.

    CA Waiting Room

Update: on the web page it now says my order is on hold until 1/20/2022 (probably because I didn’t respond to the text that asked me if I wanted to pick it up today). But at 5:30pm I got a phone call from a person at the delivery center named Jenny who said my order would be cancelled if I...

Model Y being "quietly recalled" for bad suspension bushings?

Hmm, given that just about everyone who has taken their Model Y for service recently has quietly had the service center perform some type of service to the front steering control arms/joints it sounds like there probably is something going on. Maybe they're hoping to avoid a formal recall (which...

    Neural Net Rain Drop Sensor??

I turned off auto wipers on my Model 3 a couple of years ago. Every once in a while it is enabled again (by system updates, possibly) but as soon as it starts to rain (or I see a phantom swipe) I have to shut it off again. Much like the auto-tilt mirrors (which fail to right themselves when...

    PG&E discontinuing EV-A rate

I'm in the same boat as some people here and I'm not sure what plan of action to take. I have EV-A with NEM 1.0 for a small (4 kWp) solar system that has been up and running for about 5 years. Is the dual motor option worth it?

Revisiting this thread after more than a year with some new information! I originally posted that I didn't miss a dual motor Tesla shortly after receiving my very early Model 3 RWD w/ 18" wheels. Anyway...I just traded in my wife's Model X (AWD) for an Model 3 LR AWD w/ 19" wheels, and I now...

    Found the best usb solution!

    Creaking sound in Model 3

I had a really annoying intermittent rattle/creak when I started moving, and sometimes when I braked or went over a bumpy road. Two service center visits resulted in them taking apart my rear suspension and putting it back together (both times). Then on a third visit the sound happened while...

Too many Tesla's/EVs in household - would you get a BMW 530e instead of another Tesla?

Having owned 4 BMWs over the years and currently the owner of a Model 3 and Model X...no, I would never purchase a BMW 5-Series instead of a Tesla. Maybe I will change my mind if BMW gets a charger network that allows me to drive my car from SF to LA in less than 12 hours without using gasoline.

    Outside temperature accuracy

Yes, the Model 3 temp generally seems a bit high. My X holds the record though...once I came back to the car after it had been parked outside for a couple of hours and it said it was something like 135 degrees. It was around 90 outside.
  32. Scrith

    Model 3 or Model X?

I’ve got both. I prefer my Model 3 by quite a bit. I’m 6’8” and more comfortable in the 3, btw (due to the relatively low ceiling in the X, which isn’t really evident unless you put the front seat back a bit more than halfway).

What do you dislike most about your Model 3?

    1. The ugly black plastic interior pieces that look like they could have come from a Yugo. 2. The doors being difficult to close. 3. The worthless phone as key feature. 4. Ultra sensitive paint.

Strange configuration issues...take delivery of a "2017" model now?

For owners of the 3. How many miles do you currently have? (and how many problems?)

About 400 miles in 3+ weeks (commuter vehicle). The only significant problems are front wheel alignment (it has pulled a bit to the right since I got it) and the doors require more effort than other Tesla vehicles I’ve owned/driven to close. And I wish it could connect to my Wi-Fi (coming...

    Is $9k worth 310 miles v 220?

I'm not sure this is all that interesting, but I accidentally charged my Model 3 to 99% or so yesterday at work (I forgot to set the 90% limit, and it said it would be done charging in 5 minutes when I got to the car, so it was quite full) and the rated range was 315 miles.
