" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

Just got back from testing it out. It's awesome, and it's even smoother than I anticipated given some of the reports. I mainly tried it on the Autobahn, and there it was flawless. It even handled a construction zone without blinking, following the printed yellow lines instead of the white lines...

    Update installing in Germany. :)

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

My car automatically tethers to my phone when I hop in, and I just saw that it downloaded about 230 megabytes of data in the last fifteen minutes. That should be it! Now just to wait for the notification. Will they update while at a Supercharger? Probably not...

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

That seems a little extreme. He already posted last week that there was a delay for regulatory approval in Europe. Then Wednesday he said he hoped it would start Friday. Friday, he said that approval was clear and Europe would be getting it. It's Saturday. How does that make this a hoax?

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

That's the big question. A page or two back someone said that some Swiss owners had picked their cars up from service and version 7 was installed, but I don't know where that information came from. I hope it arrives today/tonight!

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

Any references on this? I'm a few hundred kilometers north and I'd be thrilled to hear that it's begun over here. :)

    top speed tuning

Short answer: you can't. Long answer: which particular model are you talking about? The 70D and S85 are limited to 225kmh, and the 85D and P85D are limited to 250kmh. High speed isn't really this car's forté, at least not yet; even the high-end models only allow 250kmh for brief "overtake"...

    P85D going 155 mph / 250 km/h with newest .153 Firmware (Video)

I'm curious about this as well. My 85D is scheduled for delivery in June (it hovers between Late May and June), and one of the first things I'm going to do is open it up on the A5 near the Frankfurt airport and see how it does. And I want to find a decent mount for my phone in the meantime so...

    Upgraded 85D?

@thegruf, if you look at any of Tesla's non-US websites, they show that the motors are actually 261DIN/257SAE horsepower, front and rear. The 422 horsepower rating is lower than their combined "nominal capacity" of 522DIN/514SAE power. On the UK site, for example, they call it "motor power," and...

    Upgraded 85D?

Have you verified personally that it doesn't yet hit 155 mph? For me there's a section of the A5 freeway near Frankfurt airport that's perfectly straight for about five miles, and four lanes wide. As soon as my car comes, I'm going to go early on a Sunday morning so I really have room to verify...

What is Tesla's current range of motors?

Tesla's German site would seem to indicate that there are four motor capacities currently being produced: 224 PS (221 HP), 261 PS (257 HP), 385 PS (380 HP), and 476 PS (469 HP). The breakdown looks like this: 224 PS: front motor on the P85D 261 PS: all motors on the 70D and 85D 385 PS: motor...

    Upgraded 85D?

The German website is similar: It says that the 85D produces 428 PS (Pferdestärke, our horsepower), and it shows 522 "Nominal Motor Capacity" because of dual 261 PS motors. So 428 PS seems to be what it's rated at—at least currently—and 522 PS is what the two motors together are...

    Tesla cuts 60kWh Model S, entry-level Model S is now 70D.

The German specifications table is interesting: Though there's none of that nonsense about anticipated gas savings, there are two different figures given for the power of each vehicle: their horsepower and their "nominal motor capacity." So the 70D is 334 horsepower (I think our units are...

    Tesla cuts 60kWh Model S, entry-level Model S is now 70D.

In addition, that means changes for the 85D: On the American website, it now says that the 85D has 422 horsepower and a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds. On the German website, it now says that the 85D is rated at 428 PS with a 0-100 time of 4,6 seconds, but here's the interesting part: the 85D has a...

    Next Generation Headlights?

True, German roads are rarely empty. But when I make it up north there are places where I've gone ten minutes or more without seeing another car going my direction. There are also roads down south like Ulm-Füssen where one can go flat-out the entire route. There aren't many things that can...

    Next Generation Headlights?

I hope that they are. Lighting makes such a huge difference all around, especially when you're doing 180 km/h on an empty freeway at night.

    Next Generation Headlights?

These headlamps remind me of the new Mercedes-Benz multibeam active LED lamps featured in this video: MULTIBEAM LED New 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class - YouTube I drove a Mercedes with active lamps for two weeks in Germany this December. Though this video seems gimmicky, they work even better...

Rented 85kw for 3 days during Super Bowl.. Opting NOT to buy

I believe the disconnect can be summed up like this: KDIceBergSlim drives extensively on weekends, and doesn't want to worry about plugging the car in to charge on Saturday night. Other Tesla Motor Club members find it unlikely that KDIceBergSlim is driving the equivalent of around the entire...
