Thanks for sharing. It's kind of a bummer that you didn't get one of the 89kwh packs. I was hoping they would become the standard replacement for warrantied 85kwh packs. Maybe because performance cars need 400v packs?

    New 85kWH battery for my 2013 P85+

Here is some from Scan My Tesla on bluetooth adapters and the cable you'll need to connect it to the CANBUS which is under the MCU, not the one from under the dash left of the steering wheel: scan my tesla. I ordered the adapter and cable from amazon.com.

Yes, this is configurable through the Display options. I'm not 100% sure the setting is there but it is somewhere. I've played with it. You can also choose between Ideal and Rated miles I think. The more realistic one is Rated and will show lower range. This is from memory so the details may...

Other than recent owners of CPO cars with range loss I don't know anyone with a winning strategy getting Tesla to warrantee their batteries. I'm going to make the simple argument that my battery should be able to be charged to 4.2v and it is not compared to healthy cars that do. Unless someone...

Thanks for the screenshots. Can you share the BMS info at 100% or close to it? I would like the BMS data from an uncapped car showing close to 9.2v. Mine is capped at 9.1v. Here is a screenshot of my car:

I'm taking my capped 2015 Model S 85 in for service in a couple of weeks for a clunking noise in the rear from deceleration to acceleration and wanted to make an issue (again) about my loss of 30 miles range. I have Scan My Tesla data showing my max charge is 9.1 volts. I was wondering if I...

Look in the front passenger side wheel well outside the car. There's a label with the number. You might need to turn the wheel to the right to get a clearer view. There's also lots of postings in the forums on this you can search for more information.

Yup, and thanks for everyone turning up the heat on them. I hate the nanny state and want to decide for myself how to care for my own car and be given the freedom to charge to 100% on trips if I choose. I think there are better ways to encourage owners to not overcharge their cars rather than...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I'm speculating here but I think it is possible that they didn't want to roll out an update that would limit all cars to 4.1v all at once because they wanted to gauge the response of the owners. Kind of a blue / green test. It seems that for all we know 85 kWh cars were selected at random. My...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

My uneducated guess is that Tesla simply limited max voltage to 4.1v from 4.2v to make the batteries last longer and avoid warranty replacements. I'm not sure it is much more complicated than that but this is just my opinion.

I'm totally capped. My nominal full pack is 65.9 kWh now leaving me with 223 full rated miles. I used to be able to change to 256 miles at 100% when new which would have been 75.9 kWh nominal full pack. It looks like I've lost 10 kWh from new. From what I considered acceptable degradation my...

I'm sorry, did I leave the impression I was disagreeing with anything? I don't disagree with anything he said. I was just throwing out more numbers for info. As a matter of fact, my numbers support the .295 Wh / mile: 65.9 kWh / 223 miles = .29551569.... Ooops, sorry Droschke I misread this...

I think there is plenty of data out there that the cell voltage at full charge dropped from 4.2v to 4.07v corresponding to a drop in nominal full pack from over 75 kWh to under 65 kWh for all cars affected. I think this is pretty well established at this point.
