Yeah I'm with you on the clown car aspect of those things. But the old ones are getting so cheap now I'm thinking about buying one for a work car you know, just a beater to get around locally back and forth to work and such and leave my Model S in the garage unless traveling out of town etc.

A Nissan leaf may have very little to any noticeable decline in state of charge over just a day or so. They don't have much going on. Nissan leaf does not have active battery thermal management and is not internet connected and powering internet radios and such on an ongoing basis like Tesla and...

All I can say to the build quality urban legend is that Tesla's are among if not the safest vehicles ever constructed. Apparently they're putting the money where it matters. Remember All that glitters is not Gold.

Not mine, along with many others are now stuck with the 20 mile range loss and the abysmal supercharging speeds which are approximately double the amount of time they used to be.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

If you have it set to automatically open and or close your garage door upon arrival or departure if you toggle that setting off that's one workaround. If you have to push the button anyway might as well just manually touch it when you approach your garage or gate, etc.

Okay we're one quarter into a new year and still seeking to get my club shirts? Anyone know what's going on?

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

MCU1 likely. I have a 2012 and my software versions are in the 2023.xxx etc with MCU2 upgrade. Pretty sure that's the latest version for the car is still running their original infotainment version one

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

As you wish. But in my mind because the information "if known" and obviously it was, was not released to the affected customers before their vehicles got nerfed injects a certain amount of distrust. That's like the fox guarding the hen house. They have all the cards. The attempt at deception...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

The fire notwithstanding I'm not sure I would trust a company that would Nerf cars without notifying the customers beforehand of what was going on and why. So that said not sure Tesla's narrative can be 100% trusted either there is that.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

This seems to be what most of us are seeing. I would get range indications anywhere between 256 / 258 at 100% state of charge. Those suddenly decreased down to about 240 and then subsequently has further decreased down to about 234 maximum indicated range at 100% which is about 10% reduction...

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

Yes MCU2 does include the LTE upgrade and also you will get a replacement instrument cluster with hardware two. I'm surprised they didn't give you a refund for having already purchased the LTE. My service center gave me credit on the invoice for the previous LTE install. And I'm with you on...

Yep that sounds about right I've been over an hour on occasion if I'm charging from 10 to 90 easily over an hour. Pretty much the same performance you see. Supercharging is not so super anymore. There will always be those that say I should just trade it in and get another car or I shouldn't...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Still running 2022.36.2 on my 2012 Sig. (MCU2) the bulk of the charging on my car will take place anywhere between 25 to 50 KW at anything north of about 30% state of charge. It's pretty abysmal now it's not a road car anymore it's pretty much only useful if you've got a lot of time or if you're...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

And I might add for those of us still pushing old iron LOL. Even an urban supercharger is more power than my car can handle/ sustain during a supercharger session. I would love to see a sustained 70ish KW going to the car but she won't do that anymore.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Well usually my charging speeds don't approach anything near that when it's in the steady state. Last time I supercharged probably several months ago it would still ramp up to about 118 maybe 119 KW but only for about 15 or 20 seconds before it quickly tapered back into the 70ish range and then...

Well it's been so long I wasn't even able to find the original thread but I'm wondering what happened to the shirts that were coming? Still wanting to get some if they ever come to fruition. What's going on with the Tesla motor club shirts?

    v11 software update SUCKS

I would be on board with that as well I've always felt that the HVAC system in my Model S underperforms when I leave it in auto. It reduces the fan speed to almost nothing as it approaches set temperature, both heating and cooling and therefore the car seems to become warmer / cooler etc. so I...

    I created a registry for 2012 Model S VINs

I think the link is at the beginning of this thread. That said I'm not sure if anybody is looking at it or if it's being maintained or kept accessible on a server somewhere. But it would be nice. Having one of these things is like having a 1953 Corvette.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Agree. Not to belabor the point however, but the music interface is a hot mess. The favorites and recents don't stay in the order... actually they don't stay in any order. Searching for one song creates a recent station that clutters up the favorites menu. I found no way to delete or add...

    2012 Model S Signature Cars

Well for reference I'm at 132k miles on VIN number 162. My battery was replaced however in 2016 with a "B" pack. Range numbers are down averaging between 22 to 28 miles across the board. 100% now will only net me about 234 mi. It's weird because my 90% charge used to be 234 mi. now that is my...

    2012 Model S Signature Cars

Took good old vin162 to a Meetup at the new service location in Tucson. Many there were glad that I brought it, And of those some had never seen a Model S of that vintage and were really curious as to what the early cars were like, as well as how the upgrades have affected it over time. Turned...

An honest review of the yoke

Well I get that you're trying to make a dramatic point. But there are many things in automobiles that went away not because they were non-functional or sucked "as you say", but just because interior design and user interface trends moved on. I remember the 1965 mustang had three distinct buttons...

An honest review of the yoke

I do find many of these comments interesting in that most of the things that are on the yolk as it exists are nothing new. I can remember several cars that I had having a small horn button on either side of the wheel at 3:00 and 9:00. I also have had cars with a rim blow horn where you actually...

An honest review of the yoke

Monday morning quarterbacking is always easy. Quarterbacking in real time in the game is hard. And suddenly everyone is an expert on the nuances of steering yokes as opposed to steering wheels 🤣 My 1961 Imperial had a rectangular steering wheel which was quite odd for the time but it wasn't...

An honest review of the yoke

Laggards always get to benefit from the missteps of the first movers. Who really thinks Lexus would even have a yoke on anything if it weren't for the Plaid. Much like who thinks that the current crop of electric vehicles in the market would have happened had Tesla not shown them the market and...

Still no support for seat heater status on legacy cars running hardware two. Original owners of 2012/2013 Model S w/ 85 kWh pack: Has your main pack been replaced?

Some of the 85 KW cars that were subjected to battery gate are never going to achieve their EPA rating again because the VMAX was reduced at the individual cell level. So there's actually less available capacity in the pack. I personally lost approximately 20 miles of rated range overnight when...

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

I would agree spot on. Also another thing that I think is often overlooked is that many of these updates and over the air improvements so to speak, are features that have been on other cars for decades. Kind of makes me wonder why the car couldn't have had these features from day one. For...

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

Several that I know have not moved to V11 as of yet. Two friends of mine owning both a 2013 and a 2014 have not. But they are still running hardware one or, MCU1. I didn't get it either until I upgraded to hardware two "MCU2 and suddenly I'm receiving the same updates as current production cars...

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

Part of the difficulty here is we're talking about the same UI that renders itself differently across the fleet. For example my car has no support for automated seat heaters or automated high beams it has no autopilot or cameras. It does have rain sensing windshield wipers who's operation seems...
  40. tccartier

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

Well that's all great for the cars that have autopilot but I got the same v11 in a legacy S that has no autopilot, nor do the much heralded automatic seat heaters work because they're not supported in my car therefore the UI in my instance is a jumbled mess of trying to figure out how to get...

No home charging option for first year of Model Y

Well I for one just charge my car as much or as little or as often or I seldom as I need to to get where I'm going. I just drive it like an ordinary car. If the battery lasts great if it doesn't I'll get another one or get another car. Not abusing it mind you, just using it as I need to. It's...

No home charging option for first year of Model Y

I don't think they're a joke. If you're already going to be there and your car is going to be parked for some length of time anyway 🤷🏾‍♂️. It's not like you're waiting for it, so any gain should be a plus. Not sure why absolute all out speed is a necessity, or the charger or charging location...

    2012 Model S Signature Cars

I have a 2012 Signature currently at about 132,000 miles. Picked it up as a certified pre-owned unit back when Tesla treated us like customers :) just kidding, kind of. But that's for another thread. But if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to chat. Don't want to just give you a...
