Getting two NEMA 14-50 estimates on Tuesday

FYI in many places (probably not California) the permitting process is dead easy. In my jurisdiction in South Carolina it's all online (from filing to calling in inspections) and cost something like $25. The folks in the building office are there to serve citizens. While they'll not tell you how...

Request to Tesla about Bluetooth user interface

Yes, fully aware but i listen to podcasts in multiple places (gym, airplane, rental cars, trains, etc) since I travel quite a bit, so my iPhone serves as a “single source” to keep subscriptions up to date and hold my place I. Whatever I’m listening to.

Request to Tesla about Bluetooth user interface

This may sound like a nitpick, but one of the reasons I skipped an S was the poor Bluetooth music functionality. Pretty much every car I’ve encountered, from the crappiest of rental cars, will let you browse the music and podcasts on your phone and display track info. Slightly more advanced...

Muted Auto Industry response to Tesla's Full Self Driving move - why?

I work in this space so I'd say I've been "keeping up..." I'd love full autonomous vehicles (and a truly "smart" digital assistant) as much or more than the next guy, I'm just saying there's significant irrational exuberance around what deep learning and GPUs can do. I may sound like everyone's...

    All or Nothing TACC

Just to clarify, you're saying that when the sensors are disabled you lose "dumb" cruise control (i.e. keep the speed at 65 no matter what happens) like most older cars?

Muted Auto Industry response to Tesla's Full Self Driving move - why?

The automakers are not responding, since AP2 is a bunch of promises at this point. Hardware is generally "easier" and there's an overestimation of what software can do to the point that people throw out statements like "It's just software. The engineers will figure it out." Software is wildly...

    Advice on Home Charging Upgrade

The breakers in your box don't drive capacity, save for physical space constraints. So you could have 100A service and have 50 50A breakers in the box and be fine, what drives capacity of your service is the amperage you're actually using concurrently. You can do the math relatively simply, but...

AirPlay - Tesla falls further behind in Infotainment

When I first sat in an MS I thought with the large screen the infotainment capabilities would be second to none, and the streaming audio via Slacker was very cool during my first demo. However I got an MS for an extended (2 day) test drive, I frankly thought I was "doing it wrong" when trying...

Insurance company won't renew my policy... 1 claim only

I had Commerce a decade ago when I lived in MA and they stunk. I had a claim in NJ and it took them weeks just to get an adjuster out. I never understood that strange insurance monopoly MA setup that prevents "normal" companies like State Farm, Geico, etc from operating there.

    Hold me!

How was the Charlotte store? I'm close (Fort Mill) and considering taking the plunge late next year.
