21 MS - Browser not working

I have a 2019 MS with MCU upgrade for FSD. My experience is similar to others. I can say that I have done the double scroll wheel reboot and the browser works a little better for a short time (doesn't crash on the first website). But it seems that the next day it doesn't work again. Not doing...

Door handle issues! Self-fix by fuse pull/re-insertion!

I just had the same problem this month. I had an appointment with a ranger at my home, but it started working the day before the appointment. Then I took the car in for service. They tried to replicate the problem for an hour according to the service report (spraying the car with water). No...

Removing Speed Limit Mode without pin

I had the same problem today. I talked to three service centers. Big thanks to Victor and Anna Marie at the Rockville, MD location. They are awesome!!!! Go to controls Settings Driver Assistance (I think) Turn the speed limit slider to off. It gives you the PIN screen, but also gives you a...

In my three years of navigation, I noted 1 change. I can now say "cancel navigation" and it works. Definitely did not work at the start, but worked the other day.

Remote pre-heating: What does what when with what version ?

I just noticed the Defrosting today. I looked at the remote S app and it showed a red line along where the wiper heat would be and a red back part of the car which would be the rear window. Unfortunately I was in a hurry and just jumped in the car and drove away. As it was not super cold, I did...

Recommendations for Detailing Shops in the Greater Boston Area

I had xpel put on my 2015 Model S at Unique Car Care. They were in Stoneham, but a search today shows them in Andover. They did a great detailing job before putting the film on. I was very happy with their work.

    New AP 1 Behavior?

I had a similar "that's weird" moment yesterday. Same thing really. A road that changes from divided to barrier, used to let me AP at 70, but yesterday it started to slow unexpectedly. It might have been were the road went to a barrier. I will check again today.

FOB Question - does it work from your pocket?

I have kept the fob in my pocket from time to time and it works (2year old battery). I have had the car not see the fob once or twice when it is not in my pocket. I'm guessing that there was some kind of external interference.

    winterpack - red windcreen....

I have the winter package. What I thought happened when that button was pushed was that the area of the windscreen where the wipers are (in the rest position) warms the wipers. I have that opinion because when I look at the wind screen there appear to be heating wires in that area. I don't think...

Maps on Center Console Loading Slower

I was having troubles as well and did the re-boot. Problem was that the touchscreen froze and didn't come back for minutes. I called the service center. They didn't see any problem. But they pushed 17.14.23 and everything has been better for the last 2 days.

Hello, I'm an east coaster, going as far up as Vermont / NH and as far south as North Carolina. Of course, I normally use the Superchargers on the way. But I also have the ChargePoint and Plugshare. I've used Chargepoint only a couple of times, but it was great at the lodge in Killington. I got...

Long Term Battery Care and Charging Habits

I'm not a battery expert but here's my opinion. Charging the battery at all doesn't really do anything to "help" the battery. So what I was do is, set the level at 20% set the AMPS at what you normally do (the idea is that at 20% it will not recharge). Hopefully the battery will not charge...

    Winter Regenerative Braking Tip?

I live in Somerville, MA and do something similar. This is my second winter. Set my level to 90% and start up at 5:00AM. By the time I leave the car is either charged or almost charged. But you are correct, I get full regen as I drive off to work. But with the cold, when I leave work, regen is...

Switched to Eversource TOU Rates for my EV charging

V8 - I'm very happy, how do you feel about it?

So far I like it. I'm not one to load up lots of USB music, so the new music interface works for me. Part of that is, Tunein has now started working. I was like a number of others that couldn't get to their web tunein account (favorites would not sync). I was one of those people that always...

Self parking lots in manhattan near times square?

Just finished parking in the Manhattan Plaza Parking. Many of the spots are a pair of spots between columns. So at least on one side, you have a good chance of not being dinged. My wife found a coupon on line, so we spent $17 for 10 hours of parking. The garage levels go down from street level...

    Tesla Loaners

I've had a loaner twice from Watertown, MA. Both times for a day and both times they were older than mine and without autopilot. But other than needing to remember that the turning signal stalk is in a slightly different position they both drove great. Reasonably clean inside. The second one...

Cruise and AP "not available" error

100% agree it is the camera. I had the camera replaced when I first got the car in August of last year. And then again in June of this year. The second time it would come and go just as you are describing.

Can you tell areas of car that have Xpel and those that don't?

I have Xpel on the front of my car. Looking from the front at anything more than about 5 feet away you can't tell. If you look from the side and you know where the seam is, you can see it if you know where to look from about 5 or less feet. This is my second car with Xpel and I think that I will...

Charge limit and the battery options?

Good question. I don't know if 100% means some of the individual batteries all to 100% or if it means all of the batteries until the total is 60 kWh. I would imagine that the easiest software thing to do would just be to charge all of the batteries until it gets to the purchased limit. That...

    Newer car reliability poll (2015-2016)

<My wife reminded me that the camera was NOT fixed that day. We had the 3 hour delay for other reasons. They let me take the car home and then did a home pick up and return at a later day, so it was like a full day repair. New camera now. Been working great for a couple of days now.

    Newer car reliability poll (2015-2016)

Driver assistance is intermittent. When I first got the car, we spent an extra 3 hours at the pickup to get the camera replaced. Things have been great for 9 months, but now driver assistance goes on and off. Usually works in the morning, but not later in the day. But the other day, didn't work...

Is 30 amps enough for charging? (Condo Owner)

My parking is under ground. Directly below the living area, so only 1 level below ground. I was fortunate that my deeded parking spot was the best possible one of the 16 spots. Directly through the wall behind my car is the storage area that had all of the electric meters.

Is 30 amps enough for charging? (Condo Owner)

I live in a condo, and even though it's relatively new (6 years), our unit only has 100 amp service. Therefore I got the same story and I am limited to the 30 amp service, 24 amp charging. I don't think it was BS. I got the same story from 2 different electricians. I also needed to have it...

What kind of home charger to get?

One thing to think about. For my taxes for 2015, I didn't get the tax break for installing the charger. But I think that if the Model S and the charger were in different tax years I would have gotten both. My 240 volt / 30 amp outlet (limited by the current service to the house) cost about...

Any Mass. residents live in condos and have home charging?

Any Mass. residents live in condos and have home charging?

That was suggested. But since the outlet is connected to my unit's meter, any use by someone other than me would be my loss and not a condo problem. I'm not gong to do anything unless I notice a problem with my monthly bill. Since access to our 16 car garage is controlled by a door opener, I'm...
