    2016 Model S - no sentry update

Yes, as long as you have AP2.5. The AP2 faux-Sentry without video recording is fairly useless (which is what I have in my 2017).

    High thermal capable brake calipers

Looks good! Did you happen to get the part numbers for the rear calipers and larger rear display before installing them? Any chance you could share where you bought them?

    2016 Model S - no sentry update

Yup, you just need MCU2 ('infotainment upgrade') to get Sentry and dashcam.
  5. yamanote

    High thermal capable brake calipers

Yes, there are a few part numbers for calipers on the epc, but currently they all say either 'iron - black' or 'csic' (carbon ceramic), no indication of red calipers yet. Are there any part numbers on the calipers you can share? Can you pop the pad out and share a picture of the Brembo part...

    High thermal capable brake calipers

The pads have always been Brembo. Did you get the rear calipers too? Curious if the red cover can be purchased separately and installed on earlier cars.

    2016 Model S - no sentry update

Do you have cameras in the front fender?

    2016 Model S - no sentry update

If you have a late 2016 with AP2, the MCU2 upgrade includes HW3 in the cost (along with replacing both displays with versions that won't leak goo). This enables dashcam/Sentry.

2023 OEM all season tires 19” Tempest. What brand?

I swapped them for winters shortly after picking up my LR so didn't put much mileage on them, but I found them perfectly fine. Pretty quiet and does have the foam liner inside.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Source code shows AP04 and RA02 - both new option codes. Previously APH4 indicated hardware 3.0 and RA00 indicated no radar.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I don't know why everyone is surprised by this, every Plaid has had the same style of 'fake' rear calipers as recent build MYPs but painted black instead of red. It's been a sliding Mando caliper with a cover plate this whole time - except now the cover is larger. Disappointing for sure but...

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

I think the peeling happening to many yokes comes down to how tightly the material is stretched onto the core. The stitching provides some relief so hopefully there is no issue with peeling with the round wheel (and maybe it being not being stretched so tightly will make it not feel so much like...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Yeah, it's definitely not the 4 piston rear caliper from the ceramic kit. Silver lining- maybe it'll be a cheap retrofit for older Plaids!

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Finally a picture of the new round wheel - the stitching looks like it goes around the back of the rim right where your hand goes. Not going to be comfortable to hold if so...

Ultimate Performance Ultra Heavy Duty Hubcentric Wheel Spacer Kit 18mm for 2021+ Model S/X LR Plaid

Sent a pm, no rubbing at all Yes I'm in Vancouver. The bolt patterns should be identical but you would need to confirm yourself.

The cameras themselves are undoubtedly different but no sign of any additional camera units. HW3.5? 🤣 USS is gone.

18mm UPD spacers. I have them listed for sale in the TMC marketplace.

Found matching center caps for Arachnid wheels

Thanks, just ordered them. The Arachnids look a lot better without the bulbous hubcap and I'd only been able to find gloss black caps previously.
  21. yamanote

Wheels spacers for PLAID + 21” Arachnids?

Early builds had a conical tip to the factory studs that have to be shaved before spacers will fit. Later builds (unsure exactly when the change was made but at minimum from 7/22) don't have a tip and 18mm spacers will fit fine behind the factory wheels. I have a set of 18mm UPD spacers off my...

To buy or not to buy

I think this is being a touch pessimistic. The hardware will be superior of course but it remains to be seen how long it will take to see a marked difference in terms of real world performance, and how large that improvement will really be. The hardware alone isn't everything - if it was then my...

Im getting a 2015 tesla model s p85d tomorrow. Is this a screen protector or do i need another cluster? Thank you all in advance.

https://www.tesla.com/support/infotainment $1750 plus tax. You will lose AM/FM radio unless you pay additionally for the radio module.

Im getting a 2015 tesla model s p85d tomorrow. Is this a screen protector or do i need another cluster? Thank you all in advance.

If it isn't already, the main display will likely start bubbling and leaking the same way soon. The MCU2 upgrade will replace both displays and is probably the most cost effective solution.

Ultimate Performance Ultra Heavy Duty Hubcentric Wheel Spacer Kit 18mm for 2021+ Model S/X LR Plaid

Set of 4 UltimatePD spacers for refresh Model S and X (LR/Plaid) with the correct hub. 18mm brings the factory Tempest or Arachnid wheels flush with the fender. They are used but in good shape, just ended up needing a slightly different size for aftermarket wheels. $230 shipped...

    New changes to Model S

Both wheels use the same airbag so there won't be any difference.

    New changes to Model S

Front calipers look the same, but the rear calipers are larger for sure. Easily seen when toggling between dual motor and tri motor on the Model S page.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Could you share the recommended alignment specs?

You have a new build with TESLA letters on the appliqué and USS? New X builds seem to no longer have sensors already.

    Refresh Gear Selector Lights

Clicking both yoke scroll wheels activates the touch buttons fairly consistently for me. Just touching the buttons is definitely a hit or miss.

    MX and MS prices slashed!

Plaids were available with the wood trim in 2021

Tesla TV apps (Netflix etc) frame rate = bad.

The yoke is so stupid wide that it blocks half of the left side of the display, so I'm too busy moving my head around to see what's even on the screen to be worried about the frame rate.
  35. yamanote

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Shame the round wheel looks like it's covered in the same thin material as the yoke. Even the Model 3 wheel material isn't as crap. At least the round wheel will be easier to rewrap than the yoke without having the stitching in an awkward spot

Horn placement and headlights on 2022 MS LR

Nice of Tesla to trickle down up the good beams that Model 3 owners have been enjoying for the past 2 years, eh? I could go on and on about the new rear lights too. Amber turn signals, seamless third brake light, rear fogs... 🥰
  39. yamanote

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

I thought the soft/hard press indicators were the coolest thing at delivery... until I actually pulled out onto the road. Thankfully the update to get rid of it came a week later. I remember thinking the 'latched indicator' haptic feedback strength was weakened after that update though.
  40. yamanote

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

I think it's OEM - all the aftermarket ones have a stunted bottom spoke because they reuse the yoke core - but from 2021. It looks the same as the one in the early prototypes that were spotted. The early website renderings of the yoke didn't have those bars either until it was ultimately added...

Does that ever work? I mean, dictating to people who don't care to do something for you? At what point are you going to realize you're demanding I prove something to you that I've never claimed except in your own imagination?

Horn placement and headlights on 2022 MS LR

I actually think the 2016-2021 reflector LED headlights got a bad rap because of how poorly aimed they all were from the factory, and they were only manually adjustable so not many people bothered (or knew how) to. Once they're aimed properly, the low beams are passable albeit with a fair bit of...
  44. yamanote

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

I'm curious if the retrofit allows you to keep the yoke or if that's with your core exchange factored in. $700 with labour included seems suspiciously low... what's a yoke MSRP for at the parts counter?

🥱 This is boring, absolutely impossible to have a discussion when you just avoid every point and go off on your own tangents and insults.
