I have noticed that when approaching on ramps and off ramps on autopilot the car slows to create a gap for what I can only think would be more visibility for auto exit or merging traffic. Anyone else notice this?

I have mine sitting in the centre console tray organiser facing the right way up, and it still works with the lid closed

Perhaps you could look at this site, a few of the US youtubers have used the wheels and like them - they came out with some 2020 Roadster replicas recently also EVT Wheel for Tesla Model 3 - 19" & 20" ("Turbine" Style)

Would anyone have any idea how much insurance might be on average for AWD and/or Performance, or when we may be able to get pricing as this has potential to influence what car is affordable - thoughts on if Tesla would have their new insurance ready for AUS in time

Yeah in Australia we can order plates and put them into storage, this is however at a cost of $500 AUD / $375 USD per year - so you have to REALLY want them

I have placed my order in Sydney Australia this morning, was told by the Tesla employees that a valid license and matching credit card was required - this may be specific only to Australia
