I guess it is good at making things up and agreeing with you.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

You do for FSD, if your car has one, but you can't opt-out. As far as data sharing, you can have all of that opted-out and still have AP, NoA, and FSD. (But FSD still requires you to allow the camera monitoring, you can't opt-out and still use FSD.) So again, what is it that you can opt-in...

I must be blind, I can't see STOP lettering anywhere in either of those pictures.

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

Yes, there are times when FSD will not follow the nav system route. But I wouldn't count on it in that situation.

    Turn Signal intermittently doesn't work

I don't think it is a "replacement" stalk. It is a stalk to add to vehicles that don't come with one. I doubt it will be compatible with vehicles that come with a stalk from the factory.

    Rear camera replacement needed?

Sounds like you get it for free... (Or for just the diagnostic charge, since you told them to just check it out and never approved the repair.)
  7. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Is it really that difficult? Tesla says that the entire cleaning procedure only takes about 15 minutes. (Exception: It takes almost 30 minutes on the Legacy, pre 2021, Model Xs.)
  8. M

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As far as the recall investigation, the NHTSA said this: Does anybody know what part of the recall update you have to opt in to, and can readily reverse? Are they talking about FSD? Where you have to turn it on, and you can decide to switch back to standard AP?

Oregon - Clean Vehicle Rebate Program 2023

I think so, but I also think it is based on the base variant price, not your actual configuration. Meaning all Model 3s qualify.

Oregon - Clean Vehicle Rebate Program 2023

Yeah, the program is open now, I know somebody that received their check in just 2 weeks.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I swear that one of the Tesla FSD/AI engineers on X posted that they were surprised how much of an issue it was and that they were, or had, created a procedure for techs to follow for making sure the inside of the windshield is clean. (But I can't find that X post right now.) They have...

Discussion: Powershare [V2X feature currently announced for Cybertruck]

Unlikely, as that would require changes in the battery. (A new PCS design.)
  13. M

Local Electric Company wants EV owners to pay for upgrading neighborhood infrastructure.

Or a 50a outlet for a welder. But in my area the utility isn't involved in electrical changes like that. Now, if you need to upgrade your service to support it that would be different.
  14. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

We don't even know if that is something they were trying to fix in 12.3.4 or 12.3.5. (But I haven't seen it get that close to curbs in my driving on 12.3.3 or 12.3.4, so it may be largely dependent on particular road designs.) I know that 12.3.4 greatly improved the yellow light handling over...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Maybe they will do most of the early localization for China via simulation. They mentioned one difference was not changing lanes across a solid line, it seems like that would be easy enough to simulate and create videos to feed into the training. It would probably require more human work than...

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

No, he didn't. For someone that likes to be very pedantic, you got the quote wrong. (Or purposely left off the beginning to support your argument.) He said: "I think Elon mentioned it in the opening remarks." Meaning that he wasn't sure if Elon did or not. That leaves it up to each individual to...

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

No, they decided to make something entirely different first. (New more affordable vehicles based on the 3/Y, but won't have the cost savings of the unboxed process that are what would allow the $25k vehicle.)
  18. M

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

Of course, what Elon was saying was mostly read from the slidedeck; with him leaving a lot out: I bolded what I think are the important parts. That there isn't going to be as much cost savings, making $25k highly unlikely, and that the Robotaxi is still planned to use the "unboxed" method. The...

Tax credit 2024 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

I don't think you can read Lars' statement that way. He answered the question about the $25k car by saying "I think Elon mentioned it in the opening remarks." At that point the question was answered. He then went on to talk about their current plans for new vehicles, that are likely not $25k...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

There is no way to know the exact amount. I suspect it was fairly minimal as it was mainly for the Autopark capabilities for vehicles without USS in North America: But overall deferred revenue for FSD/etc. decreased by $40M in the quarter: Some of the decrease could even be from people taking...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Only $442M for Q1. :) (Higher than Q4 on fewer delivered vehicles.)

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think Waymo only did that in the Pacificas during the COVID times. In watching JJ Ricks recent videos in the next-gen Waymo, I-Pace, there is no Plexiglas, and I seem to recall that they allow use of the front passenger seat now.
  24. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yep. Last we heard they only held ~5 events to upload. (But that was with the video snapshot button that most of us don't have.) There was rumor that they increased the capacity. Highly doubtful. In fact, when Chuck talked to one of the Tesla drivers I think they mentioned to make sure to leave...
  25. M

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Waymo doesn't seem to think it is an issue. I don't even think they put up a barrier on their vehicles. (They probably keep the driver's door locked, and don't allow that seat to be used, which Tesla could easily do as well.)

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Model S AWD: $72,990 Model 3 Performance: $45,490 (after $7,500 federal tax credit.) So, it is $27,500 less expensive.

    Replace charger port socket

I wouldn't think it would be easy, as it would likely require changing all of the wiring between the charger and the charge port. (I'm pretty sure that AC and DC charging are on different cables on a CCS2 spec vehicle, where a NACS vehicle AC and DC share the same 2 cables.)
  28. M

PowerShare for All Teslas & Integration - speculation

They have been working on adding it to the CCS standard for years, but it isn't in the standard yet. Ford gave up on waiting and went with a proprietary solution for the F-150 Lightning.
  29. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

But that is selling the service not the chips/servers. And they will probably sell/price it based on some industry standard unit, like H100 equivalents. (So people can properly compare availability/pricing between cloud services.)
  30. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Because nobody, outside of Tesla, knows the computing capacity of a DOJO chip, but everyone, that matters, knows the capacity of a H100. It is just putting it into terms that are comparable to other companies installed training clusters. They aren't "promoting" Nvidia. But, in any case why...
  31. M

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I think he said H100 equivalants. Which includes A100, H100, DOJO, etc... More on the slide deck: So some of those ~37k equivalents are DOJO. They aren't sharing what the makeup of that is. (There could even be AMD chips in there.) They even included a picture of a DOJO cluster in the slide...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I assume they would not. I think the "fully informed" shareholder vote would be used in the appeal to overturn the original decision, and award to the plantiff and their attorneys.
  34. M

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just to be clear, that means you are voting for Tesla to give billions of dollars worth of TSLA stock to the plaintiff and their lawyers, diluting all stocker holders. (And they will probably dump a ton of it on the market depressing the stock even more.) I can't see any way in which voting...

    Autonomous Car Progress

It sounds like it is for navigation purposes, not necessarily for AP/FSD usage. https://www.ithome.com/0/763/429.htm And they show how rendering them could look, with Tesla integrating the second from the left:

Maybe because they would likely loosen themselves due to vibrations.

Tesla playing games on FSD upgrade 2018 Model 3 FSD?

Tesla has never required you to have a AP3 computer to buy FSD. But now that you have paid for FSD you should be able to open a service request to get your AP2.5 computer to AP3 so that you actually have the FSD functionality.

HW3.0 upgrade for basic AP owners now free?

I don't know what you are referring to as the MM computer... But no, Tesla is not going to replace the Intel Infotainment computer with the AMD one on older vehicles, if that is what you were asking. There will just be different UIs on them at least for now. (Some people think that Tesla will...

HW3.0 upgrade for basic AP owners now free?

Those changes aren't coming until the "Spring Update" starts going out. (Which is supposed to be in 2024.14.x)
  42. M

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well that could be your problem. You aren't going to find Tesla's R&D expense in a Toyota report.
  43. M

    Throttle pedal temporary fix

That isn't a step in the official procedure. (Well, I think they are supposed to vacuum before, and after, putting the rivet in.)

Tax credit 2024 [The tax credit discussion thread]

There was no POS credit in 2023, so the form wouldn't have anything related to it. You will have to wait for the 2024 turns to be available.

    New AutoPark with USS

I don't think it is a hardware limitation, it is just that the USS code is better at some things, like providing a distance to the object. And they don't want to disable the USS sensors until the Vision solution performs as good. (Though from the looks of it the new Autopark performs better than...

    New headlights retrofit

I don't think you can do it that way, I think you have to use the command line option. See this post for how it is done for the Model 3:

    New AutoPark with USS

Nope. The new Autopark/Tap-to-Park is in 2024.3.x with FSD v12. But you only see it if you have a vehicle without USS sensors.
  48. M

    Will legacy ever see V12?

At this time only the newer, non-USS, cars have Tap-to-park. They use the scroll wheel to select the spot on the IC.
