Probably the final update on this. Powerwall 2 replaced. No problems or fuss. No cost to me.
Still no idea what happened to the old one to cause it to pack up, but I don’t suppose it matters in the end.
Replacement Powerwall ordered by my installer. Due to arrive this week and waiting to hear about an installation date.
No further news about what happened to the original PW2, but I’ve asked the installer to find out. Tesla aren’t keen to share the outcome of their 3+ week “investigation “.
My latest update is that after 3 weeks offline, Tesla support have asked me to turn off and isolate the PW2 to "prevent further damage" whilst they continue to investigate.
I'm assuming it's goosed and I've asked that they get the process of replacement underway ASAP as it's not serviceable and...
Yesterday was a day of no progress.
Today I spoke with Tesla Powerwall support on the phone. They informed me that my Gateway had sent an alert to Tesla who shut it down remotely and are analysing the issue. I'm expecting a call in the next 24 hours.
It's left me with unanswered questions...
Today's update. After trying to tell me that Tesla needed to help me, not them, my installer has agreed to send someone out to have a look. They initially told me that the fuse has tripped until I confirmed it was closed. Now waiting for a visit date.
Tesla ticket I updated with detail and...
That's interesting. I'm aware of 3 others with the issue now. It is odd they've all come at the same time and nothing with the same symptoms before.
My breaker is definitely closed. I've done a full shutdown and restart of the system.
@koiploy have you been able to check the status of your...
I never got the call from an engineer but it appears that they’ve opened a ticket with Tesla Energy Europe as I got an email though saying they’re looking into it for me.
I’m not sure why Tesla chat support couldn’t do that for me or why my installer never bothered to call back.
The saga...
I discovered this morning at work that my Powerwall went offline at 3:12am on Sunday 17th September and shows as unavailable in the app. I have a solid green LED and a restart made no difference. I'm wondering if there was a failed FW update as that's the sort of time I normally see them come...
The government EV grant was just lowered in the last month or so to £4500. I imagine they'll lower it again before the release of the Model 3 once they realise what it's going to cost them purely on Model 3s.
Oh and EVs are road tax exempt.
I thought... "It's the model 3 I want" kind of stated that I want a model 3. I don't dispute that I would like the free charging.
In the UK the Ecotricity network is free to use so if I were in the EV market purely for free fuel I could've jumped on that bandwagon long ago.
My original point...
Not at all... It's the model 3 that I want. As I've said in other places I want a car that size, but it's the supercharger network that makes Tesla the smart choice. I don't have off street parking or even a regular parking spot, so I'm going to rely on public charging and the Supercharger...
I know I'm chiming in to an already long discussion without reading a lot of it, but I think Tesla pretty much have to give supercharging for free (or perhaps as a $2000 option like with the early S) because if it's going to have a cost associated with it then I'd probably cancel my reservation...
They guys in store offered me a test drive of an S and I turned it down. They were all amazed. I told them that I didn't want to end up wanting an S because I really can't afford it (and believe me I've done every calculation possible). Nearer the time of taking delivery I'll probably go for a...
Two car family...
2012 Honda Civic and a MK1 Mazda MX-5. The 3 will replace the MX-5 which is starting to cost a bit to keep on the road (but it is fun), and become the main family car. The Civic will be relegated to the wife's car and used for trips to the tip etc where the cavernous space is...
I've registered, but my confirmation email hasn't come through after an hour. I also tried the email reset after 5 mins, but that's not come through either. I did go back to the registration form to check I put in the correct email and I had.
Don't know if this has been covered... couldn't see it, but things have gone crazy here in the last 12 hours...
Did anyone see Elon's Tweet...
Elon Musk on Twitter
What was his token of appreciation? As someone who stood in line (even if it was a very short one) I'd be interested to know.
They did the same with me and asked why when I refused. I said I couldn't justify the cost of the Model S and would really want it if I drove it, so I'm holding off. I may at some point tho. To be honest the Model S is far too big for my needs. It's a wide beast!
The sale assistant in the Tesla store showed me an image of the headlight of the Model 3... said it was on a forum... I assumed this one, and that it had come from Tesla... anyone seen it?
Looked like angel eye type headlights and on a dark metalic silver car.
Here's mine.
Reserved in Knutsford at about 9:30am. No queue when I arrived and no-one turned up in the 20 mins I was there chatting with the sales people. They told me I was about the 20th person in and there was a small queue when they opened. The first guy in line had turned up at 5am found...
I've also never driven a Tesla, nor an electric car, but I've been driven in a Prius taxi tho.
The public charging around us is poor and with no off street parking charging is an issue, so I've been waiting for a car with decent range that I could charge one a week at a public charger. The...
I live miles from the nearest store, in the UK, so I have to decide if I want to take a day off work and go and order in store or get up at 3:30am to order online. Not the best choice I've ever had to make. I get little enough sleep as it is with a baby!
