Poll; What vehicles will come before Redwood?

Too bad you are only asking us to vote on vehicles. If not, I was going to vote for the option that said "Two NHTSA's, three 'recalls', an SEC, a class action and five 'X' dramas"....but I guess that still only puts us into early 2025...

Trunk double beep and residual movement

About 18 months ago, I had something similar happen with my 2016 MS. While there was no event that caused it, over time it just started to shake a bit at the top of the opening cycle, drop an inch and beep twice. I simply reset the max height so that it stopped about an inch lower than max and...

    Mystery noise SC ‘couldn’t hear’…

Sometimes when I'm travelling down the highway, I hear an alternating high/low pitch sound like a siren coming from behind my car. However, I find that if I push the accelerator right to the floor for about a minute or so, it quickly fades off into the distance.

    Inaccurate temperature readings

I read the same thing. As it's now getting the temp info from the internet, in addition to choosing between C or F, you now can select either liberal or conservative weather sources, i.e. the "The Earth is going to end in twelve years" or "Climate Change is a hoax" websites. You can still...

Rear brakes having a hard time releasing after parking overnight

My MS has done the same thing on and off (usually when I've parked it wet) for a few years now. I've had the brakes serviced by Tesla a couple of times and there doesn't seem to be a long term problem. Before parking it wet, I will sometimes set the regen to 'low' so that the car uses the...

    Battery life Model S 75D

Many of us tend to have the battery gauge display % instead of miles. The trip planner is surprisingly accurate and in eight years of ownership I've never experienced range anxiety. You'll notice that under certain circumstances (temp, wind, elevation changes etc.) you will consume more energy...

Be nice. I think we should give the reporter a break. The fact that he spelled every word correctly is quite a feat given his apparent IQ. Some of the big words must have taken lots of practice.

What happens when charging reaches charging limit

According to some media outlets, your car will explode, bring down the power grid and cause a fire that will never end. I continue to be amazed at the hatred for EVs

I think government mandates have a lot to do with it. 30 years ago, I started to see lots of people with cell phones and I ultimately decided to try one. I've since given up my landline and haven't given it another thought since. If however, the government had told me that they were going to...

Found small plastic part just behind the driver seat, What is this?

So that's where it is! It's the connector that enables flawless full self driving. Someone must have accidentally dropped one into your car at the factory. It's not supposed to be available for a few more years I think.

I wonder if they could also have it spray out an invisible, orderless gas that over time, pollutes our atmosphere. When I hit the pedal, I'd like some random clunks thrown in so that the acceleration is slower and less smooth. Maybe they'd even give us a receptacle under the hood where we...

Dose anyone know what the hell this is? Found it in the frunk while i was cleaning my car.

Looks like the secret codes to enable flawless FSD, motor longevity to one million miles and make your actual range equal what's shown on the dash. One of the Tesla engineers must have accidentally dropped it in during manufacturing. Apparently they've been looking for it ever since
  29. The Lorax

Can any identify these unused plugs for the Model S?

I think that one is for flawless FSD, the other makes the motors last 1 million miles and the third makes your actual driving range equal what's shown on the dash. Apparently Tesla is not using them yet.

Mysterious 5% range increase immediately after leaving Supercharger

I've had similar experiences starting sometime last year. I drive a 2016 MS and now find that when I leave the SC it will often improve my estimated range by up to 8-10%....but then sometime later in the trip, it will drop quicker than it should and use up some or all of that 'extra' range. I...

Hard to tell from a 5 second clip, but I have a very similar noise (although not quite as loud) with my 2016 MS. I've had it into Tesla Service twice and after a test drive and what they tell me was a thorough inspection of the suspension components, it is 'normal'. Admittedly I've had the...

While I'm not an engineer and so am in no position to judge anyone's engineering abilities, I think there is some merit to the idea that it's their respective approaches to the work which sets them apart. GM is a large company with a 'follow the rules' culture where you excel by doing things...
