    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

I am 100% certain the lawsuit is not about collecting Tripp's money - he surely doesn't have deep enough pockets to pay the damages he caused. It's about getting to discovery and finding out who was pulling his strings.

    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

Purchasing things (including proprietary information) which are known to be stolen is itself a crime. Whoever was pulling Tripp's strings *definitely* committed a crime as well, and Tesla is entitled to relief from what their actions did.

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

EM said they can reach 5k/wk without the Grohmann lines. These planes are flying in Zone 4 equipment - Grohmann equipment installed in Zones 1/2 a while ago. I wouldn't be so sure that all Canada-bound cars have already been shipped, but its possible. I don't think they've all arrived though.

    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

Do you have confirmation on the 500 count? When I visited on Saturday, and when TrevP of M3OC visited on Monday, it looked to be about 300 cars on site give or take. There are a total of around 700 more cars in the GTA in different lots if you know where to look. I've been hearing 7...

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

I checked out international center and the CN lot where the cars are getting off the rail cars today. Looks like about 300 cars on IC property, about 400-600 more in the CN lot. And about 100 more in the Closeout King lot. Vast majority have aero wheels. I've only seen about 10 cars in...

    Accident at Oxnard Supercharger Site

Taking a look at the streetview (shot March 2017) it looks like the replaced the pedestals with the newer style and got rid of the fencing around the supercharger cabinets at this location sometime in the last year (likely with the expansion). Seems likely to me from the exit ramp configuration...

    Highway 401 Experience

Perhaps varies by region - my most travelled routes are 404 between Keswick and Toronto, 401 between Toronto and Cobourg, and 400/11 between Toronto and Orillia, and I rarely use cruise control. I do often catch myself going far quicker than intended just moving with traffic, though...

    Highway 401 Experience

Occasionally I would agree, but most of the time I would hazard the average speed of all vehicles on 400series when not in bumper-to-bumper is north of 120. I'm sure MTO has the actual data on that though. I'm not super familiar if there is any case law on what the courts would interpret as...

    q1 2018 earnings estimates

Not even close - Tesla has lots of credits in the bank and they are generating more and more every day. Every car delivered in CA generates four credits to sell, and the value of the credits are around $2000/ea

Model 3’s reportedly warehoused in Maple

I took a drive through the Keele north of Teston area yesterday, and checked out the buildings I thought probable locations. Google Maps 11840 Keele, when I drove past yesterday has a much nicer gate on it now than in the streetview shot, and has dozens of new cars complete with window...

    Highway 401 Experience

I literally just cited three different sections of the highway traffic act which explicitly make slow driving in anything but the rightmost lane available and failing to turn out to the right to allow an overtaking vehicle to pass unlawful. Keeping right except to pass *is* one of the rules of...

    Highway 401 Experience

Being between the minimum and maximum of the roadway does not absolve you of the requirement to keep to the rightmost practicable lane and not 'unnecessarily slow' Note that none of those bear any connection to a minimum or maximum speed limit, only the 'normal speed of traffic', whatever that...

    Highway 401 Experience

First of all, ALL vehicles using a 400-series highway *MUST* be capable of maintaining high speed - low speed limited vehicles are not welcome there. Second, there is nothing that states vehicles of the proper class (high-occupancy, green, taxi, bus, etc) MUST use the HOV lane. Merely that...

2nd Unofficial Ontario Supercharger Opening Tour

I didn't end up appearing in the video talking, but I was at the meeting, and I had planned to talk to them. They materially mislead the group on what they were doing. They asked to film our meeting and talk to us "because there is so much negative out there, and they wanted to get the other...

    Highway 401 Experience

This is often cited garbage. It is patently untrue. Ontario's roads are some of the safest anywhere on Earth. Check out stop100.ca The HOV lane is the left most lane. The correct speed to travel in the HOV lane is "faster than all cars to your right".

How can you possibly say that wasn't a hit piece? They painted us as deluded believers and Charley Grant and Chanos as "realists". There is ZERO chance of a surge in Ontario because of this. This change (removing S/X from the list due to being >$75kCAD MSRP) came on March 9 with no warning whatsoever, publically, or even behind the scenes to the EV groups I'm part of that work with our legislators. If nobody knew the...

    Sudbury here we come

It was a bit interesting that even as we gained and lost cars along the way we only got MC Red or Solid Black cars. There's definitely other colors around. Mine is only black because that was the color a CPO with my desired feature set and price tag happened to be in.

Huntsville shows as 8/8 stalls available again in my car. It didn't show any stalls available message at all when it was down. I suspect its back up. Drone Flyer's photos are, in order: 1) Parking lot at Big Nickel, in Sudbury, looking toward the nickel 2) Drone flight up close to the nickel...

    Sudbury here we come

Its certainly possible the lady was misinformed about who paid for the fix, but nonetheless it was interesting to hear, and somewhat confirmed my suspicions that some corners may have been cut when installing Huntsville that ultimately lead to us breaking it.

    Sudbury here we come

Small crowd. Sudbury is in a busy shopping center parking lot so we attracted a few passersby. All 3 northern Ontario superchargers have non-exclusive use of the stalls for some subset of the stalls, but only encountered one ICEing vehicle at the Parry Sound one, and we later learned that...

    Sudbury here we come

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Its not like these cars didn't have a headliner. It was there, performing its job of hiding the sheet metal, just made of a different material which is similar in color. I don't know for sure if this is an accident that was missed by QC, but I can understand how that could happen. The...

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Tesla never showed you a car, and even if you order a Model S today after seeing one in the showroom, there are things that will be different between the showroom car and the one you get - its the nature of rolling in changes constantly. They put alcantara in cars because its a nice material...

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

It is in no way misrepresentation. You were never told you would get an alcantara headliner.
  39. racer26

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Hm. a decent point. Regardless, people getting their knickers in a twist over it with claims that its as bad as a Civic or GM product is a bit extreme - as I said, my 2014 S has this material on its headliner and that doesn't make it any less of a luxury car. Alcantara headliners in Model S...

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

If you're QC'ing hundreds of cars, and the line isn't supposed to be outputting anything but one headliner right now, would you even check if the headliner in the car is the correct one? They're close enough that unless you were looking for it, it would be easy to miss.
  41. racer26

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

I'm pretty convinced that this is a mistake. Occam's razor says that someone in the factory goofed and loaded a bunch of cloth headliners (intended for non-PUP cars which we were supposed to be building by now, and so there's probably a pile of them lying around the factory) into the line by...

Avoid Toronto Supercharger - 3 of 8 stalls working

Avoid Toronto Supercharger - 3 of 8 stalls working

I found the same situation on the night of Christmas Day. I stopped at Lawrence for a quick charge on my way home to ensure I could make it, and found the same situation. It seems to me that supercharger handles are susceptible to ice and snow getting into the connector part, and that...

    Supercharger - Concord ON

I mean, there's a limit to how often security can be expected to run around tagging and towing such vehicles - they do have other duties in their job, but the fact they're doing it at all is great. 2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Nothing nefarious going on. That location is the closeout king back parking lot near 404/401. It's within a couple km of Lawrence, and Lawrence staff have confirmed to me it's just a lot where they store cars offsite. Unfortunately - it's not hidden, at all. It's plainly visible from the...

You mean the profit. The revenue is simply the money received from the customers. I'm not expecting 7c/kWh to be a problem for Tesla. I can already buy electricity for rates like that at my home, at residential retail rates, in Canadian $. In Semi-fleet sized volumes, it should be no...
