No power to driver's side headlight from VC Front

Correct, that's why I was saying that the module not supply 14v as expected is due to it being an open e-fuse, and you have to unplug the component and depower/repower the car to property diagnose. Two scroll wheel reboot isn't enough to reset the e-fuse, so it will look like the wiring or...

No power to driver's side headlight from VC Front

@FatFalcon yep, for the last 3 or 4 software updates it’s been that way, thought it was a bug. When you get in the car the lights don’t flash for unlock, but when you start driving away they do. I still have the car all apart in my garage I’m going to try to get a headlight tomorrow and then put...

No power to driver's side headlight from VC Front

For anyone who finds this in the future: I removed the cover for the VC Front module, and tested the headlight wiring back to the multi-pin connector where it plugs into the module. The wiring was good. Then I determined that possibly there was an E-fuse in the module that was not resetting so I...

No power to driver's side headlight from VC Front

2018 (late 2018 build LR AWD), I figured out that the Gen 3.1 is just the newer version, the EPC doesn’t distinguish between the old and new VC Front clearly, but what I have is the original style with the battery +/- cables right on lugs on the front of it. I’m going to pull it out so I can...

No power to driver's side headlight from VC Front

I've been having a couple weird issues- the hazard lights flash when I start driving away, for example- however the new thing tonight is that the driver's headlight is out, which is making the wipers erratic. Perfect. I checked the plug at the headlight, the passenger side has 14.5v on the...

2018 Model 3 Flashing Hazard Lights when driving off

Yes they do actually flash.. if I unlock it with the key card they flash immediately, it's just the phone as key makes it delay the unlock flash.

2018 Model 3 Flashing Hazard Lights when driving off

I just did the update to 2024.2.3 but I've had this issue for about a month (I think about 3 updates ago). When I leave the car, it flashes the lights once when it locks- as normal. When I arrive at the car and open the door using phone as a key, it makes the pleasant "ding ding" sound but the...

2018 M3 LR AWD Loud Oil Pump When Precondtioning

Buzzing is normal, it’s the pump functioning and the way that it generates heat, the uneven sound of the pump sounds like air being sucked into the pump to me.

2018 M3 LR AWD Loud Oil Pump When Precondtioning

My 2018 M3 LR AWD just turned 100k miles, the oil pump is making a strange sound from the rear DU when it’s preconditioning on cold days (coldest we’ve had is 25˚F so far this year) I don’t remember it making that much noise or uneven noise last year. I’m not in a great spot to spend the...

Running Service Mode Coolant Drain/Fill or Thermal Drain/Fill Options Not Working

I ended up just doing a fairly thorough vacuum fill and then supercharging and checking the level during the process when the pumps were running at 100%.. I talked to a SC tech later who claims that when you start the drain/fill procedure in service mode, it runs for like 30 min in the...

Do you have to be geographically close to the car to add to Tesla account?

Trying to add a new (used) car to my account. It’s at a dealer, it’s been released from the previous owner, I submitted the paperwork but I’m also 1500mi away- I wanted to add it before I got there to be sure I’d be able to supercharge on the trip home (and possibly make an appointment at the...

2019 Model 3 LR DIY PTC heater change possible?

It's hard to say, but I did just replace my airwave (panel vent) actuator because it was being erratic. It could be that the blend motor is doing the same thing, and when you call for more than 68º temp, it is just closing down which is faulting the PTC.. the parts are fairly cheap because the...

Leaking in trunk but not from the gasket- broken weld or hinge holes leaking?

Thanks for this, unfortunately not for my vehicle, I have a 2018 Model 3 Dual Motor.. I sprayed the car all over for 30 min with a strong stream of water and it never leaked.. I’m not sure where to go with it..

Leaking in trunk but not from the gasket- broken weld or hinge holes leaking?

I have a 2018 Model 3 LR Dual Motor- I used to get a few drips through the passenger side felt liner, where the vent holes are on the underside of the inside of the trunk.. not a big deal, I have a rubber liner. However, after a very dry summer, today started our rainy season and I opened the...

Running Service Mode Coolant Drain/Fill or Thermal Drain/Fill Options Not Working

Hello, I recently removed and replaced my 2018 Model 3’s radiator, and in attempting to follow the service manual procedure, tried to use the service mode>thermal actions> ”start thermal fill/drain” as well as “start coolant fill/drain. Both of them gave errors that “they could not run, and to...

Model 3 - All wet and muddy [Salvage - Flood damaged vehicle]

You’re on the right track, before doing any more powering up/attending to move, I would be depowering- and making HV safe, then removing modules and plugs and inspecting for water ingress. Anything with water in it is likely not going to be able to be saved at this point- the mineral deposits in...

    Still on 2023.2.12...

It's only been a few days of being out of the bluetooth handsfree desert (2.12>6.1) and now this! Up to date! I even went in and refreshed the update page this morning and had nothing, and got in my car after work at 8P tonight and had the orange arrow.

SW Updates have seemed to cease

Nope, just a bump to 2023.6.11, but happy to report the calls I had to make on the way in to work this morning were safe, legal and without echo! Not sure why it took so long to just get bug fixes, considering my bugs have been pretty bad.. but here we are.

I'm still driving around holding my phone.. it would be nice if we could roll back to a previous SW version.. I don't even want the new features I just *need* handsfree calling to work

SW Updates have seemed to cease

I'd even be happy with the ability to roll back to a previous version of the firmware.. it's one of the only electronic things I've ever owned that I'm now powerless to fix, cause I can't downgrade or upgrade at will.

SW Updates have seemed to cease

There's another thread of similar complaints, folks 'stuck' on 2.12.. I'm not normally champing at the bit, but my bluetooth calling has an unusable echo/feedback effect on 2.12, and my display randomly freezes/restarts when driving, so it's a particularly buggy version to be stuck with for as...

    Can I buy genuine parts?

Contact your closest service center and ask the parts counter to mail you the parts.. it's possible to do it here in the states, not sure what the policy is elsewhere.

HW3.0 upgrade for basic AP owners now free?

Generally I agree with you. However, I drive 1.5-3hrs per day, and using hands free bluetooth calling is something I've been able to do for years without much fuss on many makes and models, heck I had an aftermarket stereo in a 1995 Passat that did it, and it's illegal to talk on the phone...

Not I. Still on 2023.2.12, and my Bluetooth echo still makes hands-free phone use impossible, also having a very frustrating exchange or lack thereof with my local Tesla SC for the first time (new guy maybe?), so all and all, not real thrilled with my car right now.
