You can try the Yokohama V701 - Front 195/50R16 and Rear 225/45/R17
I have them on this season and they are not that bad. Well, not comparable to the AD07/AD08, but better than nothing...
@Raffy.Roma
"The Cyclone and Aerodynamic wheels are available for the USA. For the time being they are not available for Europe. Hope they will be available for Europe soon."
I'll buy them in the US - looks like Europe willnot have them until 2014 ;(
@brainman:
The Design Studio says 2500$ for...
I just spotted the new wheel options on Design Studio. Tesla is now offering two new 19" rims: Cyclone and Aerodynamic.
I didn't spot them on shop.teslamotors.com - they only seem to be available via Design Studio when configuring a new Model S.
Does anyone know if these wheels can be...
No, we won't. S. Davies from TM UK clearly wrote that the Get Amped Cars used in Europe will be US Production cars with TEMPORARY PLATES, so they only have basic modifications (lights, turn signals) to comply with EU laws so they can get temporary plates. He also wrote that these cars WON'T have...
I guess they have to do more than just lights. First of all they will offer three phase charging (as andrewas wrote). This means they have to have three chargers (or one for three-phase charging) inside. Sencond they have to switch the charge port to something like "Mennekes Typ 2" (Rumours on...
Just got my config invitation today (SIG #5).
TM UK told me the following today on availability of "normal" Model S:
So as color choice is very limited on signature editions, I might step back to a normal Model S.
Sorry Johan, but
"After a lot of back-and-forth with the factory they have come to the following: EU signature cars can be in any color,"
is wrong.
According to St. Davies (TM UK) the only way to get a Non-Signature color on a Signature Model S is to step down from a Signature Model S to...
Keep in mind:
Tesla plug is ONE PHASE only
Mennekes is THREE PHASE
This means there is no Tesla plug on the EURO MODEL S. There must be a MENNEKES PLUG on the car itself (i wonder if it fit inside the rear light).
Furthermore this means a MENNEKES-to-TESLA SUPERCHARGER is possible...
Model S Europe Chariging Port Confirmed
TM UK just confirmed, that the charging port for European Model S will be "Stecker-Typ2" (Mennekes).
That's good news - Typ2 is widely accepted in Europe and it offers 3-phase-charging! :love::love::love:
TM just posted the following picture on Facebook.
Look at the roadsigns - these don't look like the ones in North America (should be yellow, not red/white).
Wikipedia knows where to find that warning sign:
So my guess ist that there is a Model S rolling around in Germany! This...
Tesla’s Ambitions Fueled by Customer Down Payments
By PETER EAVIS
After reading about Tesla Motors’ new electric sedan three years ago, Rob Stelling drove 100 miles to the carmaker’s showroom in Menlo Park, Calif., and put down $40,000 in cash to make an early reservation for the Model S...
Well - did we get any feedbacks of successful deliveries since that last post (which is 4+ moths old...). Or is John still on his way to Florida (maybe he took a Leaf to move...)?
One year ago they had already fixed Model S designs. I't's way more likely they were working on Model X one year ago - or even on this mysterious clay model.
I uses a more powerful cell (3100mAh or 3200mAh), not the standard 2400mAh cell.
So we have the following numbers so far:
160miles pack - 5000 cells * 2400mAh * 3.6V ~ 43 kWh
230miles pack - 8000 cells * 2400mAh * 3.6V ~ 69 kWh
300miles pack - 8000 cells * 3100mAh * 3.6V ~ 89 kWh or 8000...
I wonder how the different battery packs (additional weight) will affect the actual acceleration times. I guess that the larger packs (8000 cells) will be far more heavy than the smaller packs (5000 cells), so the acceleration times should vary a bit.
Anyone know more about this?
One could also try this:
Cruise at a speed >5 mph. Then shift into N. Floor the gas pedal (nothing will happen) and then shift into D (be sure the car is rolling otherwise you get a "gear shift not allowed error"). Now the car takes off instantly ;)
According to the Homepage, the UMC should be able to accept:
15A
20A
30A
50A
(again 4 choices as the UMC accepts 4 modes (open, short, diode up, diode down))
@MPT: You measured out a US-UMC, right?
Just take a look at the pics. The charging current runs between HOT1 and HOT2 (from TEG's image above). Neutral is used as Pilot and Ground is used as Ground.
In Germany the Roadsters were set to pull 16A if no pilot was available. But TM Germany had a couple of issues with that (people blowing fuses of installations that weren't supposed to deliver 16A for 8+ hours etc.). So now the new Firmware Update sets German Roadsters to 13A (if I remeber...
Stop believing and start knowing ;)
Tonight I pulled apart the 10A california twist lock (the one with no purple signal wires) and plugged in some lab cables to play with. I installed one on ground and one on the white rind (where the pilot wire comes in). The I tried various situations...
