Loud noise coming from the front motor?

That doesn’t sound like a motor, but a rock between your caliper and the brake caliper shield/cover on your right front wheel. That’s my guess as I’ve had it happen before. Bend the brake caliper shield back using your fingers and see if a rock falls out. Worked for me. I did it on the side...

Powerwall 2 Available Energy After 2 Years

Interesting that your third powerwall 2 reports 15kwh. That’s way too much??? Should be in the 13,500wh range.

Powerwall 2 Available Energy After 2 Years

I should also add that my Powerwalls are kept in a fairly warm Phoenix, AZ garage that regularly gets over 120F in the summer months. Not ideal I guess but no degredation? About two years ago I used the json query to manually ask the gateway what the full pack energy was at that time, and it...

Powerwall 2 Available Energy After 2 Years

This is certainly interesting. I have 3 powerwall 2s that I’ve had in daily use for 3 years and NetZero is reporting zero degradation. In fact, it’s reporting “full pack energy of 40,818Wh and also says expected full pack is 13,500Wh x 3 =40,500Wh”. In other words, I have negative degredation.

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

That absolutely won’t work. AP computers are locked with encryption keys now and cannot be switched. Tesla has virtually closed all doors now on MCU and AP DIY swap outs.

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

I haven’t tracked Tesla’s changes to how they store car keys (credentials/certs) in a long time, but my gut reaction is that they have changed the way that these are stored and recovered and likely the reason your mobile app is not working is because your credentials either weren’t moved...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

A 2016.5 hw1 car cannot do anything in this thread other than infotainment upgrade (mcu2) which you already say you did.

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Proviidng an update - reache dout to Tesla Chat SUpport this morning and they immediately knew what I was talking about and sent the HEAD firmware to my wall connector remotely (FYI - the wall connector must be disconnected from a vehicle to update firmware, according to them). The firmware...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Thanks all for this good thread. I installed my Tesla Universal Wall Connector on Christmas and updated to 23.24.4 and am having the same issues trying to charge my Rivian R1S using the built-in NACS > J1772 adapter in the wall connector. When I instead use a 3rd party NACS > j1772 adapter on...

Same with me. Faulty original charge port was replaced under warranty and works fine since.

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

Just curious - How did it fail? What are the symptoms? I believe the answer is yes you can swap a standalone APE3 with ease (I haven’t done this in years so I’m assuming nothing has changed with Tesla’s process at mothership). You’ll need to install the replacement unit and then run a software...

2021 Plaid - Here we go again! SSDD and tires...

Got my MACSBOOST shims today. Agreed that they’re $248 of R&D and $2 of product. Includes 2 shims. Probably will fix the issue - worth the attempt.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

You absolutely have the inner tire issue we all have - same symptoms. You should put your car on a lift and inspect them.

Tesla does not offer Yoke Steering retrofit?

How about trade you my mint condition yoke and you trade me your steering wheel. Straight up swap. No dollars.

2017 Model S 75 RWD vs AWD uncork eligibility

There were a few 2017 RWD that came with a faster 0-60 than those built previously, but it wasn’t an uncorking.
  22. KyleDay

2017 Model S 75 RWD vs AWD uncork eligibility

I don’t believe this is the case. Uncorking changed the powerband of the FRONT motor. No RWD could be uncorked. Jon McNeil from Tesla personally told me this.

3D 360 around view system (HDMI interface)

3D 360 around view system (HDMI interface)

@BearBu Tommy- hope you’re doing well buddy. What would it take to get it to work on the horizontal new screen? I have a Model S Plaid and am happy to be a tester.

Tesla does not offer Yoke Steering retrofit?

I’ve thought long and hard about a third party wheel, but one thing keeps me from doing so - crash testing results. Tesla redesigned the airbag in the round wheel and the airbag for the yoke and the steering wheel are different. I’m not comfortable putting my yoke airbag into a third party...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

Sorry I can’t offer this service. It’s been years since the vulnerability I knew about closed, most mcu2 were already patched at that time, and I don’t have the tooling any longer.
  29. KyleDay

2016 pre-refresh, upgraded to MCU2, lost "passive entry"

Alternatively, you forgot to plug the Bluetooth antenna into the back of mcu2 and the key fobs only work when pushing their button and sending a stronger signal?

Strange message in service mode regarding battery

    Did redeploy fix it?
  31. KyleDay

Strange message in service mode regarding battery

I’m not 100% certain but I believe that’s indicating they didn’t do a firmware redeploy to make sure the gateway and bms are on the same firmware version. You can do a firmware redeploy from the service screen you’re already in. Push the button - it won’t hurt.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

I called Michellin today and they gave me a brief run around saying I needed to take the tires to an inspection (Tesla service kept my tires when they were replaced last month at 11k miles from new) and then they wanted Tesla to call I and verbally verify an inspection of the tires - to which I...

How fascinating. I was under pretty sure guidance that the 16gb MCU didn’t come until Feb 2022. I also have a December 21 Plaid that does not have the requisite hardware for steam. Are you certain yours is a December 21 build? And have you had any warranty parts swap on your cars? Your the...

    Retrofit for Steam

People - there is strong evidence to support that Tesla is releasing a new HW4 package (including an in house developed HD radar) around late January 2023. Hold off on upgrading until we know more how it may affect our upgrade path. You’d hate to upgrade now prematurely.
  42. KyleDay

    Retrofit for Steam

I know for a fact it’s soldered. If you have a reflow soldering machine you could do it. But not only do you need more Ram but also the 256gb nvme ssd to match otherwise no Steam support.

    EVOFFER power frunk on 2020 Model S - what a no-brainer

    Retrofit for Steam

I’m in your same boat and wanting the upgrade. To be clear, in case you didn’t know this, they’re not just adding ram at this price. You are likely aware. They swap the entire “sandwich” which is a single unit containing the MCU Ryzen computer (which has upgrade 16gb ram as well as 256nvme ssd...
