    Oregon Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I don't follow this thread often... but I drove past an install that, for Tesla, is way out of place and a bit over the top today. Salem Oregon is getting quite a bit of love. This site is something new.... location is SE Mission Street. Huge Tesla sign went up -- and that's what's odd...

Major issues after holiday update (2022.44.25.5) in 2022 Model S Plaid

Thanks for the follow up. I was about ready to hand our '22 X over to the wife tomorrow morning and tell her she received a gift from Tesla. Now, I'm thinking how could that have came across horribly wrong... Will test drive myself after this freezing rain thaws -- then give the good...

    Squeak/creek from the left front?

Squeaking sounds just started for me just after my 100k warranty was up :-( I'm at 105k miles now Do you have any information on where they applied the grease? Was it the suspension (air) or steering wheel? Any extra information about the recall will be much appreciated. -TechVP

FSD beta expansion to new beta testers June 2022

This is exactly my experience as well. Over the 5 years of ownership I have experienced builds where they modify what max following distance. And apparently this is the case again. The release build settled on a nice distance... and now that's out the window and it is operating where the...

FSD beta expansion to new beta testers June 2022

Waited for 6 months. Kept nearly perfect 100 the whole time. It was really hard. Wife kept nagging my why I didn’t want to drive in metro areas :-). Received FSD today on my MX 2017. I see another thread popped up talking about the roll out. Best of luck to those waiting. -TechVP

Has anyone on FSD beta waitlist been updated to 2022.16 yet?

After 6+ months of nearly solid 100 score, having the cameras updated on my 2017 MX within days of their announced requirement, FSD Beta 10.12.2 arrived today. That was a long wait. I hope many more drivers that have been as patient, see FSD arrive to their cars. Especially MX, as my forum...

Model X OEM Swiveling Screen Thread

I was told our 2022 LR Model X was built on 4/28. It does have the swivel screen. If you have a VIN after 341660 then I say your chances are quite favorable. Loving our new X.

Waldport, Oregon Destination Chargers 16Kw (72A)

Interesting, as I met the owner when they installed them in 2017. They were very pro Tesla. Of course, they prefer the overnight business too. I'm surprised to hear they changed their tune. Wondering if it could have been some of the hired help? On one trip I made in 2019, I tipped...

Model X (only) - FSD beta

Been at 100 since late Oct. notification came via the Inbox in the Mobile app. Quick update for everybody: while I can schedule an appt., as I did for this AM, my service center says that they need to order these parts. I confirmed as of this AM, PDX SC doesn’t have the camera upgrade...

Nope, no invite here. Same MX AP 2 config, March 2017 w/ MCU2 ... no camera invite despite a solid 100 score for > 1 month. Tesla: Gimme some cameras, and I'll take a 2500 mile AP road trip to CES January 1! That will give you some data! -TechVP

Model X (only) - FSD beta

What I'm curious about is if they add a rear facing cabin cam? I would think the wiring harness is missing; but??. Our cars currently have anonymity to the cabin camera thing.... however will that be changed? -TechVP

Anyone have a VHF/UHF transceiver in their car? If so, any RFI problems?

It's been 4 years now since the prior post above. I haven't used my ID-5100 too much while driving, but last year around December I made a very important call into a fringe / distant repeater. The QSO lasted a couple hours. The rig and antenna held up fine. No adverse effects to either the X...

    MX Window locked annoyance

Somewhere before 2021.24.4 Tesla changed the Window behavior on my X. Really frustrating. While my X is unlocked, I would always be able to put Windows up or down from the driver and passenger Window door buttons. The new behavior locks out ALL windows about 20 seconds after exiting the...

    Tesla X without FWD Poll

The question/poll is a really rational one, as we have an 'all quiet' from Tesla on the interior redesign as it concerns the X. Meanwhile plenty of exterior 'previews' from the Model S. Leading statements from prior earning calls like the 'Fabergé Egg' of cars is most all we have to go on...

Risk with buying form TMC classifieds?

Completely agree with @2101Guy Definitely DO NOT use the Friends and Family option for merchandise transactions. That's #1 for advise; even if you become coached to do so by any seller. Its nothing specific about the forum, a member, etc. Avoid Friends and Family for any merchandise...

    What is your plan B?

I completely agree with @wws. As for experience, I'm at 78k miles -- with 2500 of those miles in late Spring pulling a trailer 1/2 way across the US over the Continental Divide to the West Coast. RV parks were definitely an option, (which I fortunately didn't need) and was my Plan C. For my...

Any Model S or X received the Holiday update yet? What about external speakers on s/X?

An Accessibly mode will now be necessary for font size. I concur with others. That was an abrupt font change. To note: The Park, Reverse, Drive and Neutral indicators are now on the MX (in my opinion) too small and in a position easily occluded by a slightly turned steering wheel. I’m going...

How to tell if a car has Raven?

On the center console, go to Suspension. It will have lots of numerical settings for suspension-- looking much more complex than non Raven. That's one way. As for FSD: Go to the Software / Service (?) Menu -- there you can also see what all of the build options are and what is installed...

Just picked up new X - curious for feedback on some issues

Yes Both pieces are easily replaced. I had a chrome piece come off after 6 mo in a car wash. Turns out the glue to the plastic part that has clips let go. Easily fixed. Could be you're seeing something similar, where the glue to keep both pieces of trim together, let go. For the SC...

    Cosmetic damage shops?

The benefit would most likely be part availability. The auto body shops have to wait in the queue for parts... sometimes for months. Tesla may have better access to their own parts... which means faster turn around. Not everybody's SC has a body work option... if you do consider trying...

Is there a way to have the alarm go off if somebody tries to enter the car if you have Sentry Mode?

Not exactly what you are asking for... but if your thief took the next step... there is this: Model X Enhanced Anti-Theft Think parking on SF streets... if a cabin window breaks - or even an arm reaches in when the window(s) are down, the alarm will activate. Mine is quite sensitive...

Official: Let’s See Your Backup Camera

I had an interesting experience this last weekend with the backup camera. It got covered with 2mm+ of mud. And nowhere else, had the mud dried, except on the backup camera lens. 2017 MX. Could be circumstantial... but is there any reason to think the backup camera ---might--- have a...

Do people install 2 NEMA 14-50 outlets in one garage?

I went full tilt and installed 2 (Gen 2) HPWC's, including a 100A Subpanel to support them. Through the communication bus, they intelligently share power with a theoretical maximum draw of approx 80A. Setup passed first inspection. If you were on a budget (and most are, because 2 HPWC...

Love my 21 X but no 14-50 adapter is ridiculous

I helped a referral take delivery in October of her Model X. Same opinion and same situation. Its an electric car... a NEMA 14/50 at home is all but required for reasonable charging speed w/o a HPWC infrastructure. Fortunately for my referral, I was there doing the checklist on her Model...

Don't Let Your X Lock You Out in the Cold!

Hi @bayx Thank you for starting this thread. I read this yesterday eve. And today it happened. More than 4 times, sequentially. In the worst place, and worse time. I tried the near field unlock routine before I left, and boy I'm sure glad. It saved my day. Which was way outside...

Things We’d love to see FSD try-

Single lane country road (paved -- or not ;-) w/ no lines marked. How well / safely does the beta build take blind corners? Will the vehicle keep, like sticky glue, hugging the right side of the road & not drift where opposing traffic may approach in a blind turn?

MCU/FSD Upgrade, 12V Battery Dying Repeatedly in 2017 Model X

My X build/delivery date was March 2017. I consumed about 37 months out of my first 12 battery, before the warning appeared. Had to replace it right when I predicted it was due. And bingo, right during the Virus lockdown. For you guys in June and July 2017, stay tuned... it is about...

    Supercharger — Baker City, OR

Just read about the Baker damage over on the Salem forum. Went out to the car and checked to see of Baker was offline on Tesla's map. My X map shows Baker active with 1 person charging. Hope that's real, and the issue has been repaired. Corrections appreciated. -TechVP

    12V outlets always-on hack

There is one other way in the model X. In the passenger side foot well, there is a fusebox where a 12V tap can be placed. I received the service manual section for it some years back. Although I had already, at the time, done the Power Brake mod for my always ON 12V, I kept this info in case...

Any SEA/PDX area detail shops that will pick up your Tesla for you at delivery?

i recall a full Xpel wrap on my Model X bring approx $5500. For that price I also had the two front piano black seat backs wrapped, a BlackVue Dashcam and a few other misc things done. Any SEA/PDX area detail shops that will pick up your Tesla for you at delivery?

On question #2, I would recommend 503 Motoring in the Tigard Area. They did a full Xpel wrap for me in 2017. And a repair bumper when a deer crossed my path in late 2018. Super job. Keeps their word on scheduling. They are well known with the Tesla body shops. Probably not the lowest...
