(MXP) I cannot decide between black and cream interiors (out is no-go from the boss), is black monotonous?

I had cream and liked it. It does not show dirt like white. We have black in the 3 and that is fine but gets a tad warm in the summer.

2017 X AC stops working above 35ish mph

It might be low on refrigerant. I would take it in and have that checked soon. You don't want to leave it low very long.

USA Supercharger V4, Where? Why not?

They are installing a 24 stand V4 in Pleasanton CA. Supercharger - Pleasanton, CA - Hopyard Rd (under construction Dec 2023, 24 V3 stalls) It is set up for Teslas mostly, but also has some of the V4 stands in the middle of the parking spot so the long cable works either way without requiring...

    Why no FSD trial?

I have a 2022 Model X and a 2023 Model 3. We got the got the FSD trail on the Model 3, but not on the Model X, which we drive most often. Any idea why no FSD on the Model X? Now that the price is $99/mo., I might subscribe. But not without testing it first.

Supercharger - Pleasanton, CA - Hopyard Rd (under construction Dec 2023, 24 V4 stalls)

While getting our doughnuts this morning we stopped by. Lots of progress. The site will have 24 V4 Superchargers. 3 of which are set up with the charging stand in the middle for use by Tesla and non-Tesla vehicles. (I guess I can race my neighbor to see if his Taycan S or my X changes the...

Savings of $2,500, why did you order Model X tax edition 5 seats over the Model S (non-Plaid) 5 seats ?

My back was a big reason. It prefers the higher upright seating position.

Tesla Autopilot Full Self Driving Month Trial April 2024. Pretty Good!

Ha. Except we drive the X every day and hardly every drive the 3.

Tesla Autopilot Full Self Driving Month Trial April 2024. Pretty Good!

Interesting that other X owners are getting the trial. I have a 2022 X LR and have not yet got the trial. Our 2023 Model 3 got the trial on Monday.

My Tesla model Y 2023 now has fsd?

Same. Is this one of those things that if you don't cancel, they start billing?

Strange experience. Got vin taken away.

Happens every quarter. They used to have people lining up at the factory with had food trucks to feed the people.

Supercharger - Dublin, CA - 4590 Dublin Blvd. (under construction Dec 2023, 12 stalls)

I hope they get this up soon. But, even after the green transformer and stands are installed, there is the PG&E hookup to handle. That took over a year for the Supercharger on Amador.

Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair

Isn't the point for it to be obvious and easily accessible by a child or other person? That is why it is lit. Putting a guard may prevent a 4-year-old from pushing the brightly lit button. I am pretty sure the ones in most car's trunk at just dangling there without a guard.

Please help: frunk flew open on highway, bent hood, and smashed windshield. Tesla refusing to repair

Pretty sure you are correct. Same reason they require one of those bright trunk release handles since 2001. Since Frunk = Front Trunk it applies. Here is what ChatGPT/Copilot says about the requirement: In the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)...

Tesla Owners, Let's Talk: Touchscreen vs. Physical Buttons - What's Your Take?

I know what you mean. We also have hard water also and had a couple of water heaters leaked after 5 years or so. Now we pay for biweekly replacement of the water softener tank and the last cleaning of water heater had almost no deposits. Prevention is good insurance.

Tesla Owners, Let's Talk: Touchscreen vs. Physical Buttons - What's Your Take?

I suspect your coffee makers last much longer than the average users. Most just complain or shrug when they fail and buy the same brand again. ;) ;) But, you are correct about the UI on maintenance, sounds terrible.

Munro Associates Review of 2024 Model 3

I do not have any issues going back and forth between our 3 with stalks and the X without. I have many more issues when I rent/borrow an ICE vehicle, especially if it has a button for on/start/off. I will walk away with the car still running and unlocked since my Teslas just shut down and...

Supercharger - Dublin, CA - Amador Valley Blvd (LIVE 3 Nov 2023, 12 V3 stalls)

That is bad. Probably done to get the copper for resale. But they must have fixed it fast. As far as I could tell all the chargers were working on yesterday, Sunday, late morning when we charged. I guess Tesla needs to put their camera hardware into their Superchargers stands and capture...

Tesla Owners, Let's Talk: Touchscreen vs. Physical Buttons - What's Your Take?

Seems like a good design for the 99+% usage case of the device. I bet maintenance like descaling is something most people rarely (if ever) do. I know this is the case with even more expensive devices like tankless water heaters.

Know a good collision/body shop in East Bay that won't charge max price for an older Tesla?

Most shops want to use new parts. The reason is they fit and don't have damage and/or repairs that may cause the customer to get upset when the paint starts flaking down the road. With that said 20K is a lot of money. Did you get an itemized estimate of the work to be performed and parts...

    Germany bans Cybertruck

We in the South, Cassis, quite a bit. I didn't see anything like that. I wonder how they park these things in their small parking spots or worse parking garages. Even a smallish SUV seemed really big in those spots.

    Germany bans Cybertruck

Thanks for the image. I think that reflects the change in usage of pickups in the US. So many of them are never used for work. They might only see something in the bed when someone takes something to storage or buys a few bags of mulch once a year at Home Depot. Me, I use my 5-seater X for...

    Germany bans Cybertruck

How often are bigger US type pickups on the road in the Europe. I suspect it is pretty uncommon. I just came back from 2 weeks in France and I saw maybe 2 Chevy Pickups. And they were not the monster versions we have in the US with a 5-passenger cab and a big bed. They had a 3 people seating...

    dash screen rattles

Hi. On my 2022 X the mesh screen between the dash and the windshield makes a rattle/vibration sound. If I put my fingers on the screen and press the noise quiets down. Does anyone know how this screen is installed and if there is a way to tighten it down? If seems to happen more often when...

    Tesla X delayed start

That was also my experience. I ordered my first X in 2017 and on the test drive the display was so slow I almost did not order the car. Fortunately, when the car came in 5 months after ordering it had the later MCU and the response speed was adequate. However, compared to the replacement...

How well does phone key work compared to the old key fob?

We have 2 Teslas and have fobs for each. Personally. sometimes I do not carry my phone with me but I always take my keys to get back in the house.

    Hertz rental PIREP (pilot report!)

I treat the card as the emergency backup. I am Fob person, since I don't always have my phone with me (yes, I an older!!). So bought fobs for our Teslas. But I still carry the card, just in case.

    Supercharger Full

That is true here also. But I find the Urban ones work out fine. The two places there are Urban chargers by me at Outlet Mall and a Home Depot. In eother place I usually spend 20-30 minutes and just use the charger to top off.

Supercharger - Dublin, CA - 7120 Dublin Blvd. (Dublin Crossroads/7-11, permit found, 12 stalls)

Wow. You can walk from this location to the Superchargers at the Dublin Service Center and at the donut place past Target. The density of chargers in this area is amazing.

Interesting thought, but flats in multiple locations are mentioned.

    Trade in 2020 or keep.......

Not just you. I was very concerned about the stalks. Concerned to the point of cancelling my replacement X order and switching to a Y. But, after looking very hard at the yoke and lack of stalks I decided could live with them. And they have been fine. I don't have any real issues even in...

Door Seal Wind Noise Kit for Model X - anybody try?

For squeaks on the door you can try something like Gummi Pflege on the seals. The FWDs and the to a lesser degree the front doors can move a bit and make rubbing/squeaking noise. I do this every couple of months.

Why Does My Model X get so many Flat Tires?

Xs are also a bit unforgiving when it comes to potholes. The weigh a lot so if you hit a pothole, curb, etc. they hit with a lot of force. I have had two flats on my 2 Model Xs (40K miles in Xs). One was caused by cut from a builder's tool in a neighborhood under construction. It looked like...

    Model X lease?

Tesla can make a lot of money selling used cars if their acquisition costs are controlled. And as a Tesla shareholder they need to make more money.
  41. J

    Model X lease?

For me the idea of a lease is to give the car back! With the lease you have much less concern about the car's residual value from the beginning. It is up to the lease company to make the residuals work for them if Tesla drops prices. My only concern is the monthly lease payment.

What income to afford a Plaid?

I worry when someone asks this. The best thing to do, especially if younger is invest your money. Well invested money is an appreciating asset. Cars are almost always a depreciating asset.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Not having to notify the customer of a repair is the point. At least by seeing the damage the customer can make an informed decide on whether to walk and re-order. Rather than thinking the vehicle came in undamaged and then feeling that was the NOT true later on, as we were with our BMWs.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Powerwall 2 + UPS Connundrum - and solution

I was told it was told it was hold over for older systems that did not shutdown at lower Hz. When I called to change mine, they asked questions about all the equipment I had and in 3-4 weeks changed the frequence rise to 62.5 Hz when PWs are full.
