Thanks for the pics @FatalNecro. Another good location for SC in the South Bay. It's not as close to the freeway as San Jose - Cherry Avenue SC, but not a trek either. Restaurant wise, there's also Bon Chon near McDonald's. Korean chicken wing place that's pretty tasty.

Was at Ikea across the street last weekend. I failed to see the construction started. Wife said we need to go to Target soon, but not urgent so we missed the opportunity on stumbling into a new supercharger site. :(

Thanks for the information @Monkey47. That's too bad. I was hoping the crew would move to the Black Mountain Ranch site next. One more inland in SD county would be nice along I15.

Yes, I can't agree more about Qualcomm. Hopefully this location will not be swamped by Tesla car services too.

I can't agree more about Qualcomm. Downtown SC cannot come soon enough. We had to stop taking our Model S down to SD to visit my parents because we couldn't charge at Qualcomm with reasonable wait in line. In the process of installing Nema 14-50 at my parent's house.

Yes, agree it’s unlikely for end of 2017. That’s too bad as San Diego county’s really needs another SC. The SC at Qualcomm is always busy, especially for people with no access to charge locally like visitors or apartment residences.

Yes, it would be incredible for opening by Thanksgiving. Looks like they have part of the landscaping near the building done between yesterday and today. Must be some great incentives for the contractors to meet certain opening deadline.

Very nice picture @cmarshack. Looks like they’ll be up and running within days. Construction seems to have gone quite brisk. Maybe the crews will move down to Carlsbad next and get that one up and running soon.

Awesome find emupilot. Thank you thank you! As a Bay Area resident that grew up in San Diego, I couldn't be happier with this Supercharger. I can skip the SC at Qualcomm and almost all of LA area SC's when heading back to Bay Area.

Same experience at Vacaville as whttiger25 this past Sunday 7/30 on my way back to San Jose from Tahoe. Got only 20 kw max with a line of 4 Model S and X waiting. On a bright note, there was a crew working on the expansion on Sunday so looks like they're working hard to finish.

Chuq, I read the same article and was skeptical back then. Lots of talk and no action. Just like traditional auto makers. There's very few EV's that'll even try to get to Baker to charge other than Teslas so talk of EVgo and ABB 350kW chargers going in before SC is just ludicrous.
