    Supercharger - Hanover, MD

Still only 6 working. The two furthest to the right (1A/1B) weren’t working today. Also, I only got 48 kW charge speed even when not sharing, with my Model S 85 at ~35% state of charge. Hopefully, it was a fluke.

    Calendar Sync

The calendar sync also brings in any address data in calendar events. On Model S or X, it’s a handy way to quickly navigate to your destination. When you touch the calendar event, the location pops up on the map, and you can touch the navigate button. Voila.

    Is $9k worth 310 miles v 220?

It’s pretty clear that the SR Model 3 isn’t going to be available with the full federal tax credit (a half credit is likely for most Americans who’ve preordered). For those who plan to get PUP anyway, as others have pointed out, the "effective" cost of upgrading to LR is "only" $5,250. To me...

    Model 3 in Washington, DC

I went on a weekday at around 11 am, and while there were a few people there, I was able to spend a half hour with the car, including plenty of time in the drivre’s seat, without any wait. It’s gorgeous in red, so much so that it convinced my wife and me to go with red over white.

Firmware updates seem to have slowed

@SD Diver Thanks for the reply! Guess I'm one of the laggers. If a software update I really need is released, guess I'll start fretting.

Firmware updates seem to have slowed

While all you AP (1 or 2!) drivers are going on about updates, I'm still running 8.0 firmware 17.8.16. My car has prompted me to install an update twice, and both failed. I have a May 2014 S85 with no frills. The fanciest options I can claim are tech package and something other than standard...

Where do you put your sunglasses?

I use the little compartment below the touchscreen as well, but be warned if you decide to floor the accelerator. My Ray-Bans got a nice scratch right in my line of sight from one such misadventure, when the glasses came flying out and struck lens-first against the unforgiving yacht floor. So...

    Electric costs compare with petrol...

@HumbleDriver Wow! Consider yourself lucky you're breaking evenish if you're in CT. Maybe you should move. I'm in Maryland. I've owned the Model S for a month and a half. In my first 30 days of driving it, I'm saving 28% compared to my previous 33 mpg Honda Accord, and that's with a higher...

    Undiscovered Easter Eggs

I'm new to Model S. Am I allowed to enjoy Easter eggs too, even if I'm atheist? Although as a classic S owner without Autopilot, Air Suspension, or Ludicrous, I see there aren't very many available to me anyway. I don't even have fake-me-out-8.1 yet, so no sketch pad as yet.

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

@AllenWong I played with the screen a little more, and I see now that indeed it does dim when I press an icon on the four button screen. It's just quick and subtle, and it happens while my finger still covers the icon unless I look carefully from an angle. If it's hard to change how dramatic the...

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

I have my haptic vibrate on max and don't get a vibration feedback either. I don't see any Remote S specific haptic feedback options to play with. And too late. I already gave a 5 star review! And I will happily do it again when the next version comes out. I like the idea @sdorn posted. A quick...

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

I got my Model S a few weeks ago, and so far, I'm loving my Remote S app, especially for its Apple Watch compatibility. It's great to be able to go for a run without taking my keyfob. One small suggestion: would it be possible to make the four buttons visibly "press" when touched, in the car...

    Horrible CPO experience

My CPO delivery experience was terrible. I mean the price was good, the car was in excellent shape, and the service was top notch, but I miss the traditional dealership experience. When we bought our Leaf from Nissan 5 years ago, the dealership gave us a voucher for a free first oil change...

Want to Listen to Audio Books

Didn't mean to hijack a Tesla forum with Apple vs. Android. I will say that most of us have committed to one or the other platform. It'd be hard for me to justify jumping ship now that I'm versed in iOS and addicted to the integration of my iPhone, iPad, Watch, and AirPods. I suspect many...

Ten reasons why ICE cars are better than EVs

    16. Working in unison as the oxymoronically named ICE team, can melt polar ice caps, ridding us of those pesky polar bears and emperor penguins. 17. Simply by gunning it, can double as weapons of mass destruction by spewing noxious and offensive fumes toward all those foolish enough to drive...

CPO purchase...let's see how long this takes.

I ordered my CPO on Feb 10. The vehicle was in New Jersey, and I'm in Maryland. They estimated 4-6 weeks, and I took delivery Mar 11, just over 4 weeks. I have two items on the due bills (hood repaint, rear passenger window replace) and have yet to hear from them about scheduling the repair. But...

Want to Listen to Audio Books

If you have an iPhone, rip the CDs with iTunes, then add the files in the correct order to a new playlist and sync that playlist to your phone. Now you can listen to the files and they won't start from the beginning of the track each time you turn the car on. If you have Android, then I don't...

    Protecting key while surfing

If where you park your car when you go surfing has good internet connection, and if you have an Apple Watch Series 2, you could leave your key at home. As long as you leave your iPhone in the car, you can use the Remote S app to lock and unlock the door with your Watch. And Watch 2 is waterproof...

    40k in 15 months

Gotta jump on board the happy thread train. I have almost 700 miles in my first 10 days with my CPO 2014 S85, and not a single maintenance issue yet! :D Seriously though, I grin ear to ear every time I drive now. No autopilot is necessary to love this car.

Announcing the EV Trip Optimizer for Tesla App

@aesculus I have iOS v1.1.1, and there is a bug preventing any non-numeric characters from being entered in the "last 6 of the VIN" portion when I customize under the main screen/My Cars menu. I think this was reported earlier in the thread as well. My apologies if you already have plans to...

Announcing the EV Trip Optimizer for Tesla App

@aesculus I think it's okay to keep using the standard "Rated Range" terminology, as long as it's visibly adjusted to account for degradation on all user screens (including trip details). I like to think most Tesla drivers are intelligent enough to figure things out if they went through the...

No battery sticker on my CPO

In case anyone cares, my sales specialist says stickers are known to fall off (has anyone else heard of this?) and assured me it will have no effect on my battery warranty. </thread>

Announcing the EV Trip Optimizer for Tesla App

+1 What @ZBB said. On my iOS version 1.0 app, setting my 2014 battery at 96% to account for degradation does not change how many rated miles the app assigns me at the start of the trip.

Advice on must-haves & model year

I just bought a CPO 2014 85 kW battery with the tech package. I did not get dual motor, sunroof/pano, upgraded sound, air suspension, autopilot, or subzero. I see all of these as true luxuries. I'm not sure what's so special about subzero. I still have front heated seats, and the heating system...

No battery sticker on my CPO

Bump. I'm assuming the crickets I'm hearing imply there is nothing to worry about, but does anyone else have a Model S that lacks a battery sticker near the front right wheel? @patrick40363 I'm not really worried about anything specific to my battery. I just know from reading prior posts that...

    HPWC between garage doors?

@Blup85 Yours looks pretty good as is. It looks like you have more room to work with than I have, and the vertical setup has its own advantages. @kosarfan Whoever discovered the Gecko toes for this purpose and posted about it first here is a lifesaver. The electrician who installed my HPWC says...

    HPWC between garage doors?

Finally finished my Gecko toe installation. Looking good! Thanks to all for your advice. As a reminder, I only had 8.5" of workable space between the garage doors, and I wanted the 24' HPWC, since we have a Model 3 on preorder which will replace the LEAF you see here. Oh, and I absolutely love...

No battery sticker on my CPO

Just got my CPO 2014 Model S 85 5 days ago. It's a May 2014 build, was leased by one owner in New Jersey until it hit 30k miles, then used as a service loaner for another 3k miles. As far as I know, it hasn't had any battery issues before (although who knows, since Tesla doesn't release the...

    CPO

@Jmuessig Congrats on your order! I ordered my CPO on 2/10 and was quoted 3-6 weeks before I get the vehicle. I will in fact get it on 3/11, so it took just over 4 weeks. The wait will seem like forever, but hopefully worth it in the end. I've spent a lot of time on the forums, researching and...

    On-the-go level 2 charging networks

    On-the-go level 2 charging networks

As a summary of what I learned from the other thread, I ended up ordering a card from every network out there that has one, and I downloaded all the apps. On-the-go level 2 charging networks

Hi all, I'm awaiting my CPO Model S 85 delivery and am preparing for possible on-the-go charging needs. I've also installed the HPWC in my garage (squeezed it into a 9" space between the garage doors so it will be available for both my Model S and our forthcoming Model 3). Obviously, I know...

    HPWC between garage doors?

@davewill We actually already have a GE J1772 charger in our garage which my wife has been using for years (she has a Leaf). I wanted to use the 24' corded charger though. I figure it gives me more flexibility, such as more rapid charging for her when she gets her Model 3, as well as to be able...

    HPWC between garage doors?

Wow! What a responsive community. Thank you all for your wonderful input. @CmdrThor I definitely plan to cut off a small portion of the Gecko hose rack so it fits. My original plan is sort of what you suggest (to try to wrap with longer stretches). I figure if I can create 6' long stretches...

Hi all, I'm a noob waiting on my CPO 2014 blue Model S. I'm trying to decide where to install my Wall Connector. I've already read prior threads on this, including viewing awesome pics like the one below by @systemcrashed and other pics by @CmdrThor and @pchan (thanks to all!). I'm looking to...
