Definitely low confidence. These comments appear to be ~2 months old. Might have been from a closed-door meeting so hard to confirm it isn't just fluff.

Supposedly Said by CEO of Mercedes: "Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla." "Most car companies will probably become bankrupt. Traditional car companies try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google)...

Most likely the configuration I'd order. Maybe even 2.

It would also be neat to see if there is a charging port under the car to support autonomous floor charging.

Up 2% in premarket. would be awesome if it held. I usually find myself disagreeing with your estimates but secretly hoping they're right.

The wild card is autonomous ride sharing. If Tesla can build up their autonomous ride sharing network as quickly as they scale Model 3 production, I can see Ron's predictions as being conservative. I'm hoping other people recognize this and we'll see some positive moves today.

I believe it was yesterday. I think the stock price had just cross $180 when gave his "TSLA is a Zero" presentation. I remember because I ended up buying a lot of shares a day later haha.

TT007 started saying it so we're basically just copying him. Many people in this thread admire him because of his humorous and informative posts, and also because of how successful he has been with his extremely risky investing style.

Not sure if this is news, but apparently Toyota sold its Tesla shares. Would that explain the dark pool activity? Toyota cancels tie-up with Tesla in EV development- Nikkei Asian Review Maybe Toyota bet on hydrogen fuel cells using their Tesla shares as a hedge in case it didn't work out. If...

Nice finds. The article says it was an "update" to an already-standing "list" of 30 stocks that Morgan Stanley explicitly calls out.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Possible explanation for the current hike in stock price: A team of analysts from Morgan Stanley on Thursday published an updated list of the bank's "Shared Autonomous 30" — a group of companies that the team thinks will influence a big transition from a world in which vehicles are sold to a...

It's also worth noting that the valuation is based on the assumption that Waymo can achieve 1% market share of the mobility-as-a-service market by 2030. I see no reason why Tesla wouldn't be capable of achieving a 1% market share, either. All of this fits in line with the white paper produced by...

Ben Kallo is reinforcing his Bull Case. Aligns with TT007's predictions & Andrea James from back in the day. "We continue to believe a successful Model 3 launch will be an inflection point for stock, and recommend owning shares into the launch. In this note we outline a path to a >$500 TSLA...

If GF1 production is split 100/50 between Cars/Energy storage. Then we're looking at ~100 GWh a year, which comes out to 1.5M cars a year if the average size battery per car is ~67 kWh.

Fair point. People still use landlines and newspapers and paper maps today. The change will be about as slow as it takes to raise the generation who had access to the technology since birth. So the generation of people born in the early 2020's will likely be the ones who adopt the tech

Morgan Stanley's Adam Jonas is the only person I know who actually tried to place a value on the time spent inside autonomous taxis. I think it was around $4T. The more I think about it, the more I envision a future where, instead of spending Friday evening in your living room watching Netflix...

I've been thinking a lot more about what this will look like. I think it's going to be a steep climb but I don't think it's going to be a step change because I think Level 5 will happen incrementally. For example, Tesla mobility will only work in certain ge-fenced cities in California where they...

Agreed. And trust me I would LOVE to be proven wrong but I just want to temper my expectations accordingly. I recommend you check out download the white paper given by ARK invest. Even if we give you the benefit of the doubt and assume he was talking explicitly about Fremont... That interview is from Sept 2016 when TSLA's production rate had just crossed an average ~75K cars/year. And guess what 20 times $75K/year is?

    1) Fair enough. I'm not sure how this difference is significant, but it could be. 2) No... I assumed 5 years from announcement to full rate production... which is a lot different than saying how long it would take to go from location announcement to Model 3 "ramp-up". "Ramp-up" is not even a...

    1) I said that I expect Tesla to make an announcement at the end of 2017 because that's what they said in the investor letter. I don't understand what you're disagreeing about here. 2) Yes... Per Tesla's website, Gigafactory 1 will be fully functional "by 2018" which literally means on or before December 31st 2018. That is still 20 months away. Also I think less than half of Gigafactory 1's main structure is even standing right now. I think it's super aggressive to believe they could...

    2017 Investor Roundtable:General Discussion

For this to happen, wouldn't it require breaking ground on the next 3 Gigafactories very soon, like within a year? This doesn't seem realistic to me unless Elon is secretly brokering deals with partners like Tencent to fully-fund initial construction. It seems like too many agreements would need...
