Electrify America Fast Chargers - Huh?

tl;dr: These stations are for ~90kWh CCS EVs. And they’re very much at the “our company’s first attempt at doing this” stage. Current owner of a 2016 Model X and a 2019 I-PACE chiming in. Wow, so much hate here for these EA charging stations. In the first place, my own experience with Tesla...

    Supercharger - North Bend, WA

I just charged my I-PACE at the EA station in North Bend last night. I added 36kWh in half an hour and paid $9.40. That gives me about 100 miles of range heading eastbound on I-90 if I go the speed limit. The next two CCS chargers are in Cle Elum (60 miles away) and Ellensburg (80 miles away).

An Open Letter about My Model X Body Repair Experience...

Leasing is a great way to make payments for a vehicle that's stuck in the shop for a significant chunk of the lease period.

    A 90D runs like a 75D? Is this normal?

As someone to keeps his cars at least 7 years, I personally wouldn't be very happy with a 17% range degradation after just 1 year. At that point a Model X with a 75kWh battery becomes practically worthless for a road trip on I-90, as it has to stay at each SC station for over an hour.

Supercharger Station Amenities...What Do You Suggest?

I was just visiting SLC last week and used the SC there a few times. It was only giving me (and everyone else) 50kW, probably because of the heat. Some of the staff were pretty friendly, but it was obvious that others grew tired of owners constantly waltzing up and shooting the breeze or...

50kW at most SC in Idaho and Utah this past weekend

I took a two-day trip from Salt Lake City to Seattle with the family over this past weekend. Temperatures were consistently over 100F. My Model X 75D was the only car at most of the superchargers, but I was only getting somewhere around 50kW at every station. This includes Salt Lake City...

    Supercharger - Sequim, WA

Definitely eight stalls, seven traditional, one nose-in. Looks like they're on-schedule to bring it online by July 4.

Blackvue 2-Ch Dashcam Install on Model X

Checking in from the PNW. Johnny at Calibred Customs just completed a DR650S-2CH install on my Model X. Top-notch work -- I'm very happy with the results. Knowing that it's impossible to get the hatch inside cover off without breaking tabs, he fed the wires through with a zip tie instead. I...

    ICEd Superchargers - Next Steps

Late to the party here, but I felt the need to drop in and say that it doesn't at all surprise me that Blink management signed off on those placards. It's a reflection of general ineptitude.

    Supercharger - Monroe, WA

Oh god, that Blink station. Current Plugshare score there is 1.0 (out of 10). Children and other sociopaths like to hit the emergency stop button all the time, and it takes several minutes for the unit to become functional after you reset it. Screen was cracked for some time, and only one...

    Model X: Average Wh/mile Tracker

X75D checking in from the PNW. 2,500 miles this winter season on the Pirelli 19" winter tires purchased from Tesla. Primarily short runs around town, with some longer trips into the peninsula and into the Cascades. 475 Wh/mi.

    Supercharger - Monroe, WA

Nothing on the roof (falcon wing doors and all that), but I had a full load of passengers, was sporting winter tires, and ran the heater the entire way. There was also heavy precipitation and wind. I wasn't exactly light on the accelerator. Left Kirkland at 100%, arrived at the top with 38%...

    Supercharger - Monroe, WA

Last time I took my X75D to Steven's Pass from Kirkland, I burned 45kWh getting up the mountain to the ski resort (75 miles). There was already a Model S on one charger; I took the other. As I was walking away, another Model S pulled up. They burned through their battery and needed a charge to...
