Did they remove the ability to make a service appointment?

Interestingly the account manage car web site shows the same. The Model 3 has Schedule service button and the S doesnt.

Did they remove the ability to make a service appointment?

I have two cars both under full warranty. The 2018 Tesla model 3 has the "Schedule Service" and "Roadside Assistance". The 2016 Tesla model S doesnt have these two picks they disappeared a few weeks ago.

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

So took a trip to Spokane this weekend its about 300 miles at 44 PSI with the wheel covers. Going over I did my usual 77 mph on I90. I averaged pretty high about 370 wh/mile. On the way back I took Highway 2 which is slower 65 mph and I got 330 wh/mile so these definitely use more energy. My...

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

Sounds like its supposed to auto adjust over time so I will monitor and see.

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

The speedometer is now also off by 1-2 MPH at 60. These are slightly smaller diameter. Anyone know how to reset/calibrate the speedo?

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

Still running 44 PSI feel a little stiff but no more than the originals. Might drop it to 40 PSI for a test. Winter range is suffering though. I was getting pretty consistent at 280Wh/mile in the winter driving back and forth to work. With these tires I'm seeing 300-310 Wh/mile. That will...

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

First impressions. Definitely louder more at freeway speed unnoticeable at 50mph or less. Better grip for sure both for launch and cornering seems to point better and stay on track that I have chosen. Love the way they look!

    Continental EC DWS06 255/40 R18 tires on RWD M3

Well I wore out the factory tires on my M3 in 17K miles, I could have stretched it to 20K but winter is in full swing and I had puncture that was kept leaking after repair. Replacement costs are rather high at $280/ tire for the factory Michelin. I didn't like the rather narrow tires 235/45...

Executive rear light grey color seats swap

Anyone in the Seattle area interested in swapping seats at no cost? I have a 2015 Model S with Grey Executive rear seats and would like the standard seat config instead. Please reach out to me. Thanks, Jim

Road trip in the new model 3

Did the same road trip to Spokane last weekend and this time without the wheel covers. I averaged 260 WH/mile. Its hard to tell but I definitely think the wheel covers do alot more for range than first thought. I will do this a couple more times to get a valid test result. BTW nice...

Road trip in the new model 3

New roadtrip to from Spokane WA to Lake Stevens WA on Hwy 2 now that Leavenworth 16 stall Supercharger is open. I used the Supercharger on the way over to Spokane since I left at 80% charge. But on the way back I was 100% full and guess what... I did it without charging 301 miles and over the...

Road trip in the new model 3

You know what I'm talking about. It really is a pleasure to drive this car in the mountain passes, nothing else really compares and you can become one with the road and the surroundings. Thanks for posting your drive video!

    You meet the nicest people...

I love chatting with like minded folks at the Superchargers. Its surprising how much we all have in common.

Road trip in the new model 3

Max it would let me do is 5-7 over which is where I set it. My avg consumption from Salem to Klamath falls was: 253 Wh/mile which isnt bad considering I also was going uphill for most of it. Of course alot of this on Hwy 58 was into the mountains twisty and fun so I was enjoying driving.

Road trip in the new model 3

We took our new Model 3 from Seattle, WA area too Reno, NV. 1717 miles round trip at an avg of 236 Wh/mile. This car really will do over 300 plus miles of range with the aero wheel covers on. With them off we were seeing about 280 Wh/mile. This was all driving 5-7 over and using the chill...

Model 3 cabin (pre)heating in cold weather - how good is it?

Its very quick. I would say the model 3 is about 1/3 quicker than the S. Prob due to the size but it may just be more heating element too. I had the car at 30F the other day and it was up to 70F in about 8 min. It also automatically turns on the defrost and heated seats which is new. So...

Has anyone found 'something special' in their car at delivery?

Here is a gift I got with mine Wed last week. VIN 7XXX. They said they just got them in. What a great car! Love it and it was worth the wait!

Looking back I guess they were $15 on Amazon.

    Check your AC

The two 40's were fwp40a14fa I didn't get the model numbers of the 20's but they were the smaller standard size.
  23. J

    Check your AC

Yes there is only one. For the Gen 1 models its located in the front right fender well behind the splash gaurd. This is also the easiest way to access the 12V aux battery on these early models

Best inner wheel rim caps for Aero wheels?

Very nice thanks for the part numbers! I will get some ordered up for my new 3 coming soon.

Best inner wheel rim caps for Aero wheels?

Might be the same caps on the S. Maybe just order some for a S from your service center.

Model 3 12 volt battery location

If its anything like the S or X the car will keep the 12V AUX LA battery floating 100% of the time. Whether its plugged in or not. This is to alleviate the early issues with the AUX battery going dead before we think it should. This is one of the reasons they recommend leaving it plugged in...

Any interest in more traditional car club events? (Rallies, etc.)

This is a great idea! I really enjoy sharing the Tesla Model S driving experience with everyone I meet by offering them to pilot the vehicle. Jim

    On Board Air Compressor?

This isnt a closed loop system on my 2013 MS, might be different for newer ones When you remove all the frunk covers underneath you will find the compressor for the air suspension has a dump valve and a filter for the air intake both of these open to fresh air. This pump fills this small tank...

Smart Air suspension confirmed for Model 3

I love my MS with active air suspension. I have changed my M3 reservation choice to reflect the AWD version. I wasn't going to wait but its worth it! Jim

    Check your AC

Oh and now I check the AC before and after any over air software update and before and after any TM service. Just to see when it occurs. BTW it has been stable since the fix and in 102 Deg F heat. With 2 over air updates.

    Check your AC

Well since I have no warranty I decided to try the fix for myself since I had nothing to loose. It took 1 hr to pull the DC/DC converter from the car and I was able to open it and replace the 5$ 40 Amp fuse, then resealed the unit. Works great! Not sure why TM doesn't refurbish these units...

    Check your AC

To my knowledge the DC/DC converter has a HV relay and HV fuse to send the send the main battery power to the AC pump/Chiller. But Since Tesla doesnt allow anyone to see a schematic. I guess only they know. But I can tell you what if enough people get pissed and pull their Model 3 reservation...

    Check your AC

I also have this issue on my 2013 Model S VIN# 14046 . They diagnosed it to a DC/DC converter after I gave them $140 to diagnose it . It quit sometime over a month ago, not sure since it just started getting warm here, but I know the Defrost didnt work well either. Not covered under warranty...
