    2018 Tow Package needed if I see this?

    I bought a used 2018 model x and it did not have the tow hitch. I took off the vanity plate in the rear of the car and I saw this. Can I just buy the hitch receiver now and install? Do I need to install a "tow package?"

    In a model X 75D is it possible to get to Snow Summit in bug bear and back down to a supercharger from Palos Verdes? The route planner says yes but Im skeptical.
