Was this a one person install job? My first one looked like this. When they came back to fix it I helped out a lot. The new one is holding strong. I really don't think this is a one person job as you need two people to ensure alignment and apply pressure on separate sides on initial application.

Completely agree with this. But I don't think the tape is the issue. It's the construction of the spoiler (and possibly even spoilers not getting tape end-to-end).

I have two Teslas (an X & a 3). When the app is on my X profile it won't work as a key on the 3. But as long as it was on the 3 when I last used the app I don't ever need to pull out my phone to get it to work. Haven't had it happen once in the 3 months+ of owning the car.

A lot of other brands (BMW included) sell tire + wheel insurance packages on the bigger wheels for just this reason. Knew it was a risk when I bought mine but so far no wheel damage. Did get a nail in a tire but this would have been an issue regardless of wheel size. If they offered a wheel...

How did they chip the paint? Did they have to force the old spoiler off. Want to make sure they avoid doing that to mine when they come out on Saturday to fix it. Kind of crazy that they delayed this so long to "re-work" things and still can't get it right. It's not like spoiler installs like...

In my case I asked if I could bring it in to get it done but they insisted on doing it via mobile tech. They're also insisting on doing the fix via mobile tech. I think this is a huge mistake as I really think you need 2 people doing the install to get this right.

That does look much better. How did they fix it? Did they actually have to replace the spoiler or do they have some other fix? They called me this week to schedule a fix so want to make sure they have a good process before I get them to come out.

Looking forward to hearing if they fix it properly. I'm going to hold off on getting mine fixed until I'm confident they can do it properly - especially since mine isn't all that bad.

Mine just has the small gap at the top - it's flush at the bottom. This looks pretty bad -- and I'd imagine airflow there at high speed could force it off.

This is most certainly not by design. Mine only does this on one side (the other side sits perfectly flush).

Exact same problem with mine. I'm going to bug them again when they have a bit more experience installing this. Had no problem with the badge. Perfectly clean.

Sorry - misread that! Took delivery on Nov 30. I do have 2 Teslas so not sure if that helped with fairly early spoiler install.

Authentication is also interesting. With talk of cloud based Tesla profiles I have wondered how you'd sign in. This would help with that.

The internal camera can also be used as an alternative to having your hands on the wheel to make sure you're paying attention to the road while AP is engaged.
