Today, Tesla first advised that I’d need a $2k replacement of my HW3 but, as a Hail Mary, they wanted to push a firmware update that supposedly “didn’t make it through” last night. GPS drift persisted on the first drive after update but is seeming gone after a reboot before a second drive. I...
Same experience here when I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to the 11 Pro. Sometimes if my 7 was in my back pocket, I'd have to do a Hula Dance or a "turn yourself around" move to unlock the car but using the 11 Pro to unlock often mimics using the key card.
I wanted to add my experience that Tesla won't install panels on clay tile (i.e. "Spanish tile") roofs in SoCal. In my case, what could have been >12kW PV system was relegated to 3.2kW, installed on the flat torch-down roof over the garage: I didn't go for it.
UPDATE: Rumor has it that the spoiler on the red/white demo car (supra) was manufactured and installed by SpaceX in a hurry. That could explain the fitment and adhesion issues on the demo car spoiler. Production spoilers, again rumored, will be a better fit.
the active turn-signal-audio level to increase while the line is ringing (and decrease in volume in between ringing), effectively making the turn signal louder than the phone while ringing, until the line is answered. Geez that sounds convoluted.
Here's a (slightly out of context) copy of my post over on another but similar topic:
The M3P+ was still in the lot this morning when I visited. I noted the VIN number and later showed the carbon fiber spoiler photo to the SC EE and asked if they knew why this car had it. His reply was “must be...
Unless someone has developed a Rosetta for Tesla ETA announcements, it'd do no good. My M3P+ was ordered and delivered in October '18 and I've heard everything from "soon" to "4th quarter 2018" to "1st quarter 2019" to "we don't know when." That said, I get giddy thinking about its arrival!
The M3P+ was still in the lot this morning when I visited. I noted the VIN number and later showed the carbon fiber spoiler photo to the SC EE and asked if they knew why this car had it. His reply was “must be a marketing vehicle,” aka demo vehicle. The VIN is 0553XX.
Our spoiler conversation...
In hindsight, I should have peeked at the VIN. I'll be there again tomorrow morning and will look for it. Car only had "SOLD" written on a piece of white paper in the front windshield.
Here's a few photos of a production Model 3P+ spotted in Burbank, CA today: with a spoiler and a badge. Nearby Ranger said it's the first he's seen and that the local SC has not received any stock yet.
I've so far asked every Ranger and SC EE for ETA on the spoiler and received varying answers. Well, today I spotted M3P+ in their Burbank staging lot with a factory carbon fiber spoiler and Dual Motor badge (photos attached). A Ranger happened by and we talked about spoilers but he still has...
Similar experience with HVAC today: no air flow but MCU seemingly taking HVAC control settings/changes via the touch screen. Drove in to Burbank, CA SC (crowded for sure) and w/in 10 minutes they diagnosed the issue (yes: it needs an eventual firmware fix but, yes, they can do a 12v reset) and...
I couldn't tell if the compressor was on but no air came through the vents (though you can hear the vent positions changing/adjusting when adjusting them on-screen) and several wheel resets had no effect.
Fun find: on my P3D+, media volume increases as the HVAC fan speed increases; decreases when the fan speed decreases. Probably wouldn't have known/sensed this functionality if not for my HVAC fan going offline (i.e. no airflow coming out of vents) but the MCU HVAC settings/controls still...
I've seen the attached config screen come up a few times in my MP3+ while playing audio from USB2. Can't say for sure how to replicate this screen but selecting "SXM" and then pressing "Change" does not seem to do anything. Similarly "AM" and "FM" have no affect.
Anyone know what this is about?
It was curious that that the SC paperwork indicated the performer the version upgrade, the MX was still at .44 when checking the CID, but we were prompted of a software update, which we took. Version is now reported as 2017.50.1.
We picked up our MX from the SC yesterday: looks like they updated ours to 17.50.80. Am I reading this wrong or are they rolling out further refinements?
