My guess - the USB must be plugged in the car otherwise how could it power its own wifi? To me though. If the app can’t delete files to clear space for new sentry events, not worth it really.

I checked out some threads before I did factory wipe and didn’t find any issues with doing it. Just gotta redo all your user seat/autopilot driving profiles and you’ll lose things like suspension-raise on locations. Pretty happy today that we did this. I’ll be sure to update if the dashcam stops...

UPDATE: Just had to drive the car for 10m and the maps refreshed all good. And dashcam still works!

Thank you . Worked for me as well. But now my maps don’t work ha ha as it says incorrect maps downloaded. And Tesla support for this is closed. Fix tomorrow hopefully!

No update has come through yet sadly. The online chat support was well aware of the issue before brought it up. So it’s popular. Guessing it’s just an update away from fix, hopefully soon!

Contacted online chat. They are pushing 2019.16.3 once on wifi. Hopefully fixes it. Will know tonight if update comes through.

Same here. Dashcam on MX is shot with the new update. Super lame. Every time they fix or improve something, something breaks. But I’m pumped on Nav on AP so.... yay!

Anyone know what it takes to trigger the stereo in Model S/X sentry mode? I can’t seem to do it, though it does record and HAL shows up. How is motion in cabin supposed to be detected?

My 2017 MX sentry mode only records video. Will not sound alarm or play the loud music. Do I require the motion alarm cabin upgrade to get full sentry mode feature otherwise how would sentry know when to alarm if can’t detect inside vehicle motion? Thanks!

Using the 3 prong Tesla adapter will not allow the full potential of the 20A wall outlet. The adapter is configured to software limit the car as if plugged into a 15A outlet. Car doesn’t know the difference. Based on adapter used, not house wiring.

Emergency braking will only activate if car thinks collision is unavoidable. So if you did not get into an accident, there was no need for emergency braking.

Yes! With all the studders and time projections his amazingnesss comes with. Driver inputs directions Vancouver to Toronto. Elon be all like: I umm a think, that uh we can uh make it there in 12 uh hours. 9 days later you arrive in Toronto.

I also assume AP2.0 cars will need more than just the chip upgrade. But I safely assume Tesla will handle it when the time comes as Elon has been very consistent on this topic and also they sold the FSD product, so they will figure it out. This is not merely a tweet on a whim. It’s a product sold.

Computer upgrade is not free. You pay for it as part of FSD. As for when we get the HW3 retrofit, it’ll be when Tesla finalizes the chip architecture and manufacturing process. It’s all just a matter of when. Either way AP has had some awesome progress, good things are coming!

No, but it’s worth the wait . We have an MX in Canada. So amazing! When did you email your delivery specialist, how long is waiting for a response? We had no issues for our delivery, got pushed out a couple days from when they thought we’d have it but nothing unreasonable. Hope all goes well!

Nothing competes with Tesla. They are their own market. Like sayin Apple demand is going to dwindle when someone else comes or with a phone. Paleeeez.

Elon stated the software development is easier with HW3 compute power. Therefore that likely means the software is being developed for HW3 and may not be compatible with HW2 maybe. EAP is likely feature complete for HW2/2.5 cars.

My observation: Anyone who bought EAP will likely see little further updates. The software being developed is for HW3. If you want further enhancements to your “EAP” features, they have been moved into FSD, so you will need to buy FSD.

Elon has consistantly stated that all HW2 plus cars will be upgradeable chips to support FSD (so until someone with a HW2.0 car does not have the ability in their Tesla account to purchase FSD, we are still consistent). The current issue is the cost of this upgrade has fluctuated and features...

$2600 CAD paid. Bought EAP on day one and was 5600$ for FSD always until it went to about $4400 couple weeks ago then $2609 last week I think.
