    No. The stator in the ac asynchronous motor does not "mimick" a permanent magnet. The stator is made of steel so it interacts with the rotating magnetic field. And you don't have to have two fields. You can rotate a simple piece of steel with a rotating magnetic field. Steel laminations and...
